@Human_Umbreon ; a pitch pipe is a small instrument used by choirs to tune to the right pitch before singing an a cappella song or a song that has a tricky entry. It is circular with a small mouth piece, like a harmonica, that is blown into. You turn a little dial on them to the note you want to start on and blow on it and it emits the correct pitch.

Huh, interesting. Too bad I have no desire to be a singer. :p I just play the kazoo 'cause it's funny. My repertoire includes "The Final Countdown" and "Imagine".

but I already told you, my German is good.

I'm curious as to why you would need to know German other than that maybe your parents are German, or just because school makes you. Then again, I have no reason to learn French, other than that I want to, and I feel stupid only knowing one language. It doesn't help that the only parts of my own country where French would be at least a little useful are New Orleans and a small sliver of northern Maine. ._.

Why feel stupid? Many people only know one language?

Sometimes, I like to lie in my neighbor's lawn and pretend I'm Bob Saget.

Because it seems people in Europe and Asia (at least) speak several languages on average. At least, it seems that way. My dad's girlfriend speaks Hungarian (native speaker), German (she moved to Austria), Swedish (once lived in Sweden), and English, and once knew but has since forgotten Russian (mandatory as a student behind the Iron Curtain). And more than that, her son (who is 13 years old) speaks German (native), Hungarian, and English. It's just extremely humbling to meet people from central Europe or someplace who speak two or three languages. So one day I decided "I want to learn another language". For some reason, I picked French, and it's been about two years since then. I'm far from fluent, but that's normal for somebody who's only been learning it sporadically for two years. :p

And it seems you're quite new to teh forumz. Welcome. :D
