I'm not even a dog person and yet I find it pretty endearing. It's not exactly something that tickles me enough that I'd deem it a favorite, especially when Gen 9 gives me gooder bois like Mabosstiff and especially my adorably shaggy, bony monstrosity Houndstone; but it's enough for me to lament how utterly boring Boltund is by comparison. They turn a floofy corgi into... a plain-ass dog that even loses the unique Ball Fetch ability. I don't think it even deserves Strong Jaw. Sure, dogs bite and all, but you look at this garishly colored, generic canine and tell me it somehow bites any more harder than a Dunkleosteus, a shark, and a Tyrannosaurus would. You deserve better than that, little Yamper.

I love it, it's my favorite Paradox Pokémon.
It reminds me of Kirby because of the little pink cheeks and I love the fangs, they're very cute. I draw it all the time in my notebook.

Some fully evolved Pokémon don’t have great stats and are there for flavor. Roasting them is fine, but they don’t deserve all the irrational hate they get. That’s how I feel about Delibird and Luvdisc. I love that the former got a semi-redemption in the form of Iron Bundle :)

Feels lazy to just slap two eyes on an inanimate object that represents said region.

The Galarian one is cute with its colourful floofy mane and looks more like a unicorn, but I feel the Kantonian one has always looked more badass with its fiery mane.

Speaking of which, Rapidash

While I don't really have any strong feelings for Rapidash, I did enjoy its debut episode of the anime where the idea of it controlling its fire to let somebody ride on it was cool. Galarian Rapidash is a nice colorful evolution to Ponyta that I think is neat but that's about it.

Dewpider’s okay. Never really had interest in the line until obtaining a shiny Araquanid (the colors are infinitely better), but I can appreciate it for what it is - a bug with a pretty unique (not exclusive) type combination and defensive gimmick.

I don't feel strongly about Growlithe either way, but I've got no issue with the little guy. Like many other unevolved Kanto Pokémon, I think its design strikes a very good balance between cute and cool — it looks tough enough to battle on its own, but it's still very obviously a puppy.
As for Hisuian Growlithe, surprisingly I might slightly prefer it over the original. I think its typing and appearance makes it just a bit more interesting in comparison to its Kantonian counterpart.

I don't feel strongly about Arcanine. I'm fine with it existing and I know Arcanine's got a lot of love, being a big fluffy doggo; it's just one of those things where the only approach for me when it comes to expressing anything about is simply "not my thing." I find it kinda interesting that Arcanine's "Legendary" status seems to have been vaguely official before the general consistencies applied to the classification were more solidified and concrete as the franchise went on.
As for the Hisuian incarnation, I think I lean closer to it's pre-evolution, though neither of them are really something that I'd say are favorites at all.. I think it's mostly the adorkably hidden eyes that's a deal-breaker, though there's a different dog Pokemon in the current generation of this writing that happily keeps the 'hair covering eyes' trait even after evolution, one that I already specified in this page as a close favorite.

It deserves the flack for dropping the Water-type, but it's still stilized, has decent colors and a nice concept. Not a bad moth.

My first playthrough in Sapphire I gave my Mudkip an Everstone so I'd never have to see its evolutions all through the main story. I've since warmed up to Swampert (Marshtomp is ok); its gen 6 model gives off perfect derp energy and I'm so here for it. Also Water/Ground is just a solid typing in general.

One of my all-time favorite Pokémon — if I happened to be in the Pokémon universe myself, I think Wooper would be one of my first choices for a partner Pokémon. It's super iconic to Johto and there's just something about it that I absolutely love. :bulbaLove: I adore Quagsire and the Paldean Wooper line too, but the original little blue one will always be the best of the best to me.

Isn't Muk backwards... Jokes aside, I do love how affectionate Ash's Muk is in the anime. While I don't really care for it in the games, it is pretty cool how they made it pretty lovable for a sentient pile of sludge in the anime.

Well-Baked Body is a nice ability that would be awesome on other Pokemon, but on this one, it is a little bit of wasted potential

One of my favorite iconic mons. Especially liked how it was available super early in BW2.
