As you may be aware, the Eighth Generation will soon be out, and Sword and Shield will be the first games for the first Pokemon generation in the recently announced Reiwa era in Japan (https://japantoday.com/category/national/japan-names-new-era-reiwa). It is interesting that Pokemon will soon enter a new era with the 8th Generation being on a home console instead of a handheld console like previous generations. It will be interesting to see how Pokemon will go in the Reiwa era with the end of the Seventh Generation and its related anime occurring later on in the year and the Eighth Generation starting with Sword and Shield. What do you think will happen with the world of Pokemon in the Reiwa Era (Reiwa 1 starts May 1).

The new Era is definitely a big event, but to be honest I can’t see it affecting Pokemon much more than maybe some promotional merch being released.

If you are wondering what’s in store for Pokemon in general, well, a whole lot. :D But that’s been speculated to death on other boards.
