See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil!
They came from somewhere weird, Tate knew that much. How weird was weird? It was hard to say. Everything was weird around these parts. Still, these three were especially unusual. They had arrived late at night -- or very early in the morning, depending on your perspective -- and forced the manager of the adoption center out of bed and into the rain to handle their intake. Arriving soaked to the bone and clutching a rainbow-patterned umbrella, Tate found an equally drenched warden from the nearby park standing on the stoop with three little red balls seated -- perfectly still -- at her feet. Were it not for the occasional blinking of their eyes, it might not even be apparent that they were alive. A quick reference of Tate's Pokédex summed them up sucinctly -- Darumaka, the Zen Charm Pokémon. They were Fire-types, but as the rain continued to pour down, they seemed placid and utterly unaffected by the chilly water. It wasn't as though Fire-type Pokémon dropped dead the moment they got wet or anything, but one would expect them to be at least unhappy about it. They were not, or rather, if they were there was absolutely no indication of it. The just sat there, perfectly still, and stared at nothing in particular, finally moving only when Tate unlocked the door to the center. One by one they stood up and walked in a single-file row into the building, without being prompted. Tate looked at the warden, and the warden shrugged. By the time the pair of humans walked inside to complete the intake forms, the three Darumaka were once again seated, perfectly round and perfectly motionless, in a tidy row on the floor.

Drop-off of the following Pokémon has been approved:
Lv. 11 (M) Darumaka w/ Crossfire, Sleep Talk, & Take Down
Lv. 11 (M) Darumaka w/ Heat Wave, Metronome, Sucker Punch, Submission, & Zen Headbutt
Lv. 11 (M) Darumaka w/ Sucker Punch

The loneliest people in the whole wide world are the ones you're never going to see again!
They seemed so familiar to Tate; twelve sad faces that made Tate's heart pang. What happened? Where was their trainer? Why were they brought here? Surely someone loved them at some point, but wherever that person was, they weren't here now, and the Pokémon knew it, and the staff could feel their trepidation and their heartbreak as one by one they were processed for intake. Now and then, one would cast a plaintive glance at one of the others. They had come here together, but they'd almost certainly leave here seperately, and the odds were good that they'd never see each other again. What sort of goodbyes would these be? The Kangashkan and the Vullaby seemed the most agitated; the latter was small and easy to subdue, but the former was much larger and much more dangerous. Several interns stood around her in a cautious circle as she and the baby in her pouch both calling out in a loud and mournful bellow for someone who had let them go. She was only subdued after having exhausted herself, crying and thrashing about. The emotional strain of processing the batch was even greater than the physical exertion, and at the end of it all, everyone involved was emotionally drained and physically exhausted. Tate seemed especially affected, the wellbeing of these Pokémon feeling almost like a matter of personal responsibility. Nothing could be done to change whatever events had brought them here, but they could at least be given the best chance at a new future, with the help of the adoption center.

Pokémon available for adoption!

($200) Lv. 01 (F) ✨ Dunsparce
"GET THE FUCK BACK HERE, YOU LITTLE SHIT!"

These were the words what greeted the ears of the surely startled staff of the Adoption Center as Gavin Golurkson raced inside, in hot pursuit of a mischievous Aipom who was proving quite adept at continually dodging his Nest Ball's recall beam. The Aipom jumped around, laughing as his Trainer got progressively angrier, and then as he landed on a cage, decided to open it up.

Gavin opened his mouth to scold (and swear at) Aipom for this, but stopped as he saw what was flying out of the cage. He'd seen Dunsparce before back in Orre, but those had blue on its body. This one had more of a light red, almost a pink.

A quick glance at his Poké Radar confirmed Gavin's suspicions- this Dunsparce was Shiny. A Shiny up for adoption! Well, that was music to Gavin's ears. First things first, though. "OK, you- back in the ball!" Gavin declared, suddenly aiming the Nest Ball once more. And this time, his aim was true, and Aipom was withdrawn into the spherical confines of the Nest Ball. "And as for you," he added, wheeling around to face the Normal-type, who was a bit bewildered by her sudden freedom, and the general chaos what preceded it. "You're coming with me," he grinned. Not an ominous grin by any means, but a grin of genuine excitement, a grin that could only mean one thing when plastered to the face of a Shiny hunter. A grin that stated that a Shiny was about to be his.

"Sparce..." Dunsparce gave a quiet hiss, regarding Gavin curiously. He was certainly loud, but he seemed OK enough...

Gavin held a Quick Ball before him. "Dunsparce!" he declared, bringing his arm back. "You shine for me now!" And with that, he hurled the blue and yellow sphere forward. "Go, Quick Ball!" And in an increment of time consistent with the ball's name, Dunsparce was caught. Gavin grinned as he scooped up the sphere, though as he looked around, remembered where he was, and headed over to the counter to pay for his new Dunsparce. He supposed Aipom did him a favor this time. A mere coincidence, or intentional...?

Pokémon available for adoption!

($240) Lv. 05 (X) Bronzor
Terri stared curiously at the Pokémon floating before her, and the Pokémon was staring right back. Neither of them were saying a thing, and from what the bewildered Adoption Center staff were saying, this had been going on for the better part of the past two hours.

And then, an odd, metallic voice sounded in Terri's head. ANALYSIS COMPLETE. NAME: TERRI ALPH. POKéMON TRAINER. GIRLFRIEND TO THE FROSLASS NAMED LAUGH. HAS PREFERENCE FOR BEING ADDRESSED AS "MISS TERRI" OUT OF PARTICULAR ENJOYMENT OF THE AUDIBLE SIMILARITY TO THE WORD "MYSTERY".

Terri smiled. "That sounds like me, alright. And you're-"

But the metallic voice came back before Terri could say more. ALLOW ME. LINK ESTABLISHED WITH POKéDEX MODEL HANDY808. "BRONZOR, THE BRONZE POKéMON. A STEEL AND PSYCHIC-TYPE. BRONZOR ARE FOUND IN ANCIENT TOMBS ALONG WITH SIMILARLY-SHAPED IMPLEMENTS. X-RAY PHOTOS TAKEN OF ITS BODY TURNED UP ABSOLUTELY NOTHING." A pause. POKéDEX ENTRY INCOMPLETE. CONVEYS APPROXIMATELY 0.2% OF THE HISTORY OF MY KIND.

"So there's definitely more to you than meets the eye," smiled Terri. "I like you, Bronzor. You're fascinating."

YOUR COMPLIMENT IS RECEIVED AND APPRECIATED, droned Bronzor. The metal just below its eyes almost looked a bit reddish for a moment, as though it was blushing. I LIKEWISE AM FASCINATED BY YOU, MISS TERRI. ALLOW ME TO SUGGEST THE NOTION THAT I TRAVEL WITH YOU. I FEEL EACH OF US CAN BENEFIT THE OTHER.

"I agree," nodded Terri. "All we need now is a name for you."

I HAVE A SUGGESTION AS TO THAT, came Bronzor's droning, metallic telepathy once more. DURING MY EARLIER ANALYSIS, I SAVED A LIST OF WORDS THAT HOLD SPECIAL MEANING TO YOU, NAMES YOU USUALLY RESERVE FOR POKéMON THAT JOIN YOU. ERGO, PROPOSED NAME FOR MYSELF: XXXXX.

"That sounds a little weird," Terri murmured. But then, she smiled again. "I love it!" she declared. "Welcome to the team, XXXXX."

Kawaii felt the chill of the amazing amount of ice types in the adoption center. Yes, there was a variety of types but she needed one to round out her team. Something had pulled her to getting an ice type today. Immediately, she saw a round pokemon hiding in the corner. He didn't seem afraid of the other pokemon in cages around it. It was more of a general anti-social hiding. She looked into his cage and he slowly waddled up to her. Something charmed him about her and he made a soft purring noise as he nuzzled her hand. "Looks like you like me." she giggled and removed him carefully from the cage and took him up the front.

"Neat! It looks like this little guy could hold up in a scuffle if need be. Sure would be nice if he got some love and care though."

Peng places his adoption form on the counter with a single Poke Ball in hopes that the payment would be enough that he can take care of his new friend.
