The Avatar above gets turned into a Pokémon

Mega Ampharos

@Handium It's Episode 241, "Hocus Pokémon." Ash meets a witch, and when she tells him about a spell that allegedly allows humans to "enter the mind of a Pokémon" or something like that, Ash volunteers to have the spell performed on him. As it turns out, the spell allows humans to enter the mind of a Pokémon by transforming them into a Pokémon - specifically, a Pikachu. (One of the spell's material components is a Pikachu's Thunderbolt, which is used to catalyze the spell, so it's possible that it would turn its target into a Pikachu no matter what.)

Unfortunately, the writers never actually did anything with it; Ash transforms at the end of that episode and then transforms back at the very start of the next episode. So much wasted potential. We never get to see how proficient Ash is at being a Pikachu, it barely gets into how the transformation influences how Ash interacts with his Pokémon both during and after the transformation, and we never see how Team Rocket reacts to there suddenly being two human twerps and two Pikachu. To rub salt in the wound, the narration of Episode 242 implies that a decent length of time has passed between the two episodes, meaning the audience has to fill in the blanks. (I'm going to chalk it up to executive meddling. That episode features a crystal that heals and rejuvenates Electric Pokémon; it would have been very interesting to see how that would affect a human transformed into an Electric Pokémon. I could very easily imagine a draft of the episode's script where Ash was still a Pikachu.)
