This isnt a thing learned in class this is something everyone here should know! And the not connecting the fact that it said United States on America on the coin with the fact that it was an American coin is just a lack of common sense.

I want a Crystal book... And the RBY ones too.

Heh, I remember reading a novelization of a RBY walkthrough while playing my first Silver version. Needless to say, I was a little thrown off. (I KO'd the Vermilion Snorlax because it said there was another one at Celadon. Brilliant, Zach.)

that would stink. I don't remember if I caught mine the first time I played the game. I played through it at least 15 times.

I dont have very many guide books. Just a Yoshi's Island DS guidebook and a Super Paper Mario one.(despite me not owning that game)
One of those Pokemon ones would be cool.

Fortunately there's always been a few Red and Yellow versions floating around the house. Friends and cousins would forget leave them, my siblings would steal them, they would get stolen by the neighborhood kids. It was a strange state of being, like cartridge limbo. A constant flux of Red and Yellow.

That seems cool. I got my diamond/pearl guidebook from a friend who left it at school on the last day. I never saw him again, so I just kept it.

One of my first memories of Pokemon, in any sense, period, was an evening with my best friend Anthony, who'd just gotten Red, I believe, and was playing it on the TV in his basement. I read the little brown instruction manual that came with it, and I was fascinated by it, visually. I just always liked the illustrations.

My very first glimpse of Pokemon was actually the first movie. I didn't understand much of it at the time, but I loved it so.

Now, i recently bought the soundtrack to the movie and have the mini poster of it hanging in my room.

Mine was my best friend talking about it at recess and the first glimpse at his Pokemon figures. The way he described Bulbasaur made me think of something like a potted piranha plant.

I remember getting those little Charmeleon-Wartortle figurine sets with the crappy little Poke Balls. Good times.

And of course my parents chanting along with everyone else at church about how Pokemon was evil and demonic and destroying our kids. Oh you wacky religious folks.

lol My parents never had any problem. When I asked for Pokemon that Christmas they gave me Pokemon Yellow with a Pokemon Gameboy and a Pokemon Gameboy pouch.
Thank god I had my dad to help my mom not get all crazy religious. ^-^

It wasn't until XMas 2000 that I finally managed to talk my dad into getting me Silver and my Game Boy Color, which I still have.
