A good night's rest will hopefully make you feel better SC. ;3

I can sympathize with Holo on this season's Power Ranger opener. From what I saw of it, its modern corny without out any of the campiness to give it any redeeming value.

This. I wasn't interested in Jungle Furry Fury at all.

I almost gave up on Jungle Fury, though I actually enjoyed the second half of the season quite a bit. I like a good hero's journey tale and this one did well to give you one from both sides, Casey and Jarrod; Kind of like Aang and Zuko's tales in a way. Oh yeah they were based on cats too, but that didn't have anything to do with me clinging on to it in hopes it would get better. No >>

SPD will forever be my favorite though. Time Force would have been my favorite before that.

Power Rangers... WHEN WILL THEY MAKE USE OF CGE!?!? I would probably be obsessed with that show if the costumes didn't look like the same ones from my childhood... is that a monster!? No! It's a fast-food mascot! A really ugly one >_>

lol.

Half the humor is in whatever odd mashup they decide to treat seriously. As Yaku pointed out on Ryuu's VM, ala Starfish Hitler. Different series, but same crazy monster concepts XD

I just don't watch power rangers because it's so cliche'.

I mean really?

Perhaps, but it's mindless fun watching whatever troupe of heroes save whatever random town there is to save. After a while the cliche is just a part of what you accept and you look to whatever else the show offers for enjoyment.

Some seasons pull it off better than others making that 'cliche feeling' a bit more transparent by mixing it up with life issues. Or not.

The thing is that, Power Rangers hasn't been on TV here since like 2001..

:p You know that's ironic considering the last 5 seasons or so have been filmed in New Zealand using New Zealand actors.

And they were actually really decent too. Except RPM which I didn't care for at all.

Yeah, ummm...

I am seriously suprised.

EDIT-OK, a bit of research has made me discover that the Broadcasting Standards Authourity deemed it "too violent"

Actually, I take that back. It was the previous seven seasons, starting with Ninja Storm where the series was filmed and produced in NZ. Back in 2003. That's matches up pretty well to when they stopped airing there it looks like :p

When Disney took over the franchise I believe the business decision was to move production to NZ because it was much much cheaper to do it there.

Some people didn't like when Disney owned them, but I'm not complaining, I loved Ninja Storm, SPD and Jungle Fury. The backdrops were gorgeous too.

I guess they didn't air them there because they didn't want the locals to catch on that they were filming in their back yards. Literally.

Everyone says New Zealand is gorgeous.

But Power Rangers was filmed in Auckland, and it's too urbanized to look good here.

The south island is much more beatiful.

Well it looks like they migrated the set a bit. There tend to be a lot of beach scenes and wilderness so I can't imagine it was Auckland exclusive.

You make it sound like it's overrated. I for one would love to visit sometime. :3

It kinda is overrated.

Also, auckland has a small forest in the west, with a lot of beaches.

I live 10 mins from this forest.

Never been to NZ, probably won't, but I knew about 3 people who were from there. All of them teachers, sadly. One was a racist scumbag, bleh.

There are many racists here.

Many Maoris and pacific islanders are very racist to asians.

It is a bit saddening.

Yeah, apparently the bastard couldn't get it through his head after hearing me speak in perfect American English for an hour that Asian people don't speak Engrish day and night, and kept pretending he actually had a point repeatedly asking me if I had an ELD teacher or some shit. I almost punched him in the nose and ripped it off.

Also pretty odd how the same Cherokee-like islanders who descended from Asiatics are even more pseudo-domineering toward them than whites are. Discriminating-ass twats.

Today I'm actually gonna study.

Well, that would be very good for you!

Also, on another topic: Do you have IE9?

1. Open it
2. Go to GPX+
3. Notice the difference?

The only rendering oddity now is the text on the banner doesn't have an outline and shadow. It used to extend the page vertically with the malformed skin select box. (And tab highlights and dressups.)
