Kenshi, right now, report the incident to the real Windows Live Team. Your account may have been compromised by people with malicious intent.

Well, I've tried the part where I (attempt to) get my password back, but as of yet I've gotten no response.

Do you have a link to the page where I can email them and let them know some goddamn asshole's gone and stolen my account?

Uh, none of the pages actually have a link where I can actually tell the Windows Live staff what's happened, and all the ones on the page require me to log in- can't; the fuckers already changed my password ages ago. Do you have anything that I haven't already tried, or will actually let me get in contact with the Windows Live team?

If you can't sign in, try resetting your password.

Try resetting your password right now. Your account is a higher priority right now.

Man, Windows live is a bitch.

More like, people with malicious intent to steal accounts.

"The validation process will ask for key information about your Windows Live account, which only you would be able to provide. This allows us to verify that you are the legitimate owner of the account. The criteria requirements are very strict to protect you, so please provide as much detail as possible on every question. You may have to call some of your contacts to get information such as email subject lines and contact email addresses. The more accurate information you provide to us, the more likely it will be that our Support Agents can validate your identity and help you recover your account. "

Validate and reset your password first...

Well, I obviously tried that right away, but it either goes to a dead yahoo I dumped in the trash over 4 years ago, or asks a question I never thought I'd have to answer, so I forgot as quickly as I typed it. The only choice left is the one I described at the end of the blog entry, and it's slow progress compared to the other options.

Hold it. Why does a link in a Windows Live page go to Yahoo!?

Anyway, try directly contacting them. I'll get the link up ASAP.

I meant it goes to the old Yahoo account I set as my other email address (3 years ago) in case of an emergency like this. Well... for lack of better term, it's deader than a school of fish sucked into a laundromat.

How dead? Try accessing it anyway. You need it to recover your Windows Live account.

Dead enough that I put in the address (and every available password that I could possibly have chosen) 3 hours ago, and it tells me no such account exists at this time. >_>

Guess you'll have to go with directly communicating... or try the password reset. I don't think "recent" means "within the last week"... Try something in the box? Do you use Windows Live Mail client? If so, try checking it - there should be offline copies of mail.

Nah, I never used stuff like that. Before I got that godforsaken spam mail, I usually just trashed anything I got from Windows Live within the next 2 minutes.

So, in the end, did you get into contact with them?

On another topic, what video codec should I use for my phone? And what video converter should I use? I prefer to keep my stuff offline, so recommend me something that is downloaded.

(It's a Samsung Wave. 800x480, and I'll need high video quality.)

I put in everything I remember into one of those password recovery things, but I've yet to receive a response. It's frustrating how I fell for such a dingy trick and am paying the price pretty dearly now for that one (rather costly) mistake... >_>

OK, anyone here? This thread really needs some activity ASAP!

On another topic, I am testing predictive text on my phone right now. Hopefully I won't need to look at what I'm typing here forever... And I do hope that I don't end up messing up my text...

Hmm... When I use predictive text with an on-screen keyboard, it's pretty much auto correct. What do you people use on your phones?

Oh, and by the way, this post is typed on my smartphone without looking at the actual text. How did it go?

Lol, autocorrect. I remember one totally tragic death involving that and some serious adrenaline overdose.
