Actually, the B-52 cruises in, and is designed for, transonic flight. The swept wing configuration is a tell-tale sign.

No, you're completely right. 0.75 is rare, but it has happened. Particularly on WW2 era aircraft where they were capable of flying at those speeds, but they weren't designed with compressible effects in mind.
