I don't see how Stunfish is scary. It is a bit disturbing, though.

@Mintaka Oh, that was intended. Believe me, I've got images that I could swap out whenever I wanted to do so. At the very least, they'd give you nightmares. At worst, the amount of blood and gore would make you vomit on the spot.

After all, I do have a reputation to uphold.

I got invited to a birthday party today. I'm a bit freaked out about this, as I've actually never been to a birthday party before. Even through elementary school, I was "the other kid". Not the weird kid who ate glue and whatnot (I remember that kid too) but up until seventh grade I was antisocial. Only then did I acquire a tight circle of about five people I really consider friends. I mean, and even then those people didn't throw common parties like the cool kids or whatever.

I feel so vulnerable finally hitting upon a social interaction I don't know how to approach again. And another problem here is (as the person who invited me is not within the circle of friends I was talking about) I barely know him and have no idea what to buy him.

:(

EDIT: @minimag My sig has Lovegoods in it :p

I don't think gift cards are tacky at all; to me, it just means that you want to make sure they get something they'll really enjoy.

woohoo, I finally reached 500 posts :D

As long as you put some thought into what store you get the gift card for, it's fine. If someone gave me a Home Depot gift card (home improvement store), I'd be like "gee, thank you so much!" *insert fake smile and fake cheery voice here.* But if they gave me a gift card to Uwajimaya (asian grocery and gift store), I'd be like <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

and Hastings is a place for books, music, DVDs, video games, and random stuff you can't find in most stores.

@Sexy Sammurott-True XD

I only buy things from EB Games.

Although it's harder with females of a certain age (12-17)

How about this pic? I had it as my avatar a couple of months ago, and some found it creepy. (WHY?!)

Same, I don't mind receiving gift cards/certificates as presents for that reason.

Yeah, after I posted that I thought to myself "Do they have they in NZ?" XD
It also sucks that you don't have an amazon.co.nz

@Mintaka
Thanks :) I've been spending a lot of time in Fun and Games, so my post count was stuck at 499 lol
