Sometimes it makes me wonder what if I could flash Android on my camera.

You could but you need to have an Android version that works on your camera, there are some phones
with Android on it though.

I doubt I'd want to run Android on a camera, though - they tend to have very nasty boot times. I'd rather have limited app functionality but 3 seconds to boot.

Yeah but the manufactures don't have to invent the wheal again for making sync over wifi or stuff like that.

Hmm...

Trying to strike a balance between performance and versatility... well, at least MILCs are very capable and versatile out of the box, aside from apps. I kinda like how mine has a touch screen.

I have a small Nikon camera I use for taking pictures though I havent used it in a long time because the battery is stuck inside it the wrong way, so I have to get it taken out and charge it, Ive also taken a few videos with it for youtube, but the quality of which sucks >.< other than that I have my iPhone for a camera and I guess my 3DS.

I don't have a cell phone atm, but I did have a Sony Ericsson Elm that had an older 5mp sensor, but was pretty damn good for what it was. Great low light pics and the TV wasn't a glaring mess. Totally planning to get an Xperia Z though, that thing camera should be great, finally gets a new exmor sensor from Sony.

I am also thinking about getting that phone, my current one has issues. But I it is kinda expensive if you ask me.
I'm definitely importing it from another Euro-country that doesn't have Euros so I can get it cheap, no way in hell am I paying 700 for it.

It surprisingly has good indoor light, for a .3mp sensor. The quality of the faces is also good, but I expect that's so face raiders won't completely suck.

I have a Canon Rebel T3, which is really good. The video isn't the best, better than a bunch of cameras that aren't straight up made for video though, but the picture quality is amazing.

Edit: Actually, I take that back. The video is pretty darn good. It's just the mic that's awful compared to actual video cameras.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, but then there are problems with warranties an such.
But then again I never used a warranty or anything, and this phone is water and dust resistant.

Screw warranty, we have Sony repair shops all over. Also major retailers offer non-water based damage repairs for a price as well, so in the worst scenario I just have to fork over 50 euros or so. And anyway, SE and to an extent even Sony's build quality when it came to cell phones has always been stellar. Their plastics are like gamecube era Nintendo plastic, good feel and sturdiness too, along with a pretty solid casing that doesn't crack. Of course the Z will need some more protection and extra care, but that's obvious considering the premium price.

I have an old Nokia phone and an iPhone 4S. Those old Nokia phones are indestructible. I dropped it off a two storey building on purpose. I went through waist hight water with it in my pocket. No damage whatsoever. The iPhone is mainly used for surfing the web, listening to music, playing games while waiting and taking pictures.

Those phones are literally indestructible. The reason I still have it is because it never broke and no one will buy one of those now. I just slapped an Apple sticker on the back and called it an iPhone 5.

The old Nokia's were awesome. Built to last as you guys have said, and they had some pretty awesome designs. I mean look at all this:

All strange, futuristic designs, with some innovation, and from the last 10 or so years. That red one with the rubber in the middle is awesome, the body on the outside is completely flush, and it looks seamless.

And now every phone is a square touchscreen, ..... well that's it :d.
Not every phone, Some subtle design strokes make for interesting phones, especially Sony's. This might be my unabashed love for SE talking, but Sony has been picking up the slack and are putting out some awesome phones. Motorola too, even if they're a bit irrelevant these days. Apple and Samsung are the worst offenders though, with LG being something I'm personally indifferent to, however the L9 is an exception. HTC's can die in a fire for all I care, they used to be top notch window phones with the price premium that can be matched to its quality, when now their androids are hot messes, with the HTC sense OS being the worst offender., not worth the price......As you can guys see, I'm obsessed over the phone market, as much as one might be for PC's. :p

And this is why I hate cellhpones these days. We have 400 euro+ phones to do anything but make calls. Man I miss the days were internet was rare for a phone, games were hard to get unless you knew how, and actually calling people was common.

I use my phone to call and text way more than surf the internet and play games and whatever else.

I have an irrational fear of making calls from the days when you had to put credits on your phone. Even now when I have unlimited calls, that irrational fear still persists. Same with texting.

I still use a pre-paid phone, and I have no fear. Of course pre-paid must be more advanced then it is in the states, cause from what I gather contracts are pretty cheap, and a necessity almost. We get 1200 mins of call time and 600 texts a month for 5 euros for the same network, so yeah, contracts really aren't needed, unless you want internet. And even then you get 120mb of free bandwith usage with each card you buy, there's this gift program that can give you anything from minutes to a PS3 and it always gives me minutes,, so you can pretty much farm unlimited surfing with it.
