So to answer your question, yes, I do "self-abuse" a lot. My vibrator and I are good friends. But I find there are times with these shows (and their fanfiction) when I often don't need her...

The nice thing about being bisexual is I can find "self-abuse" fodder in just about every show, even if it's heavily biased toward one gender (or at least, sexy people of one gender. Like, Downton Abbey has a pretty gender-balanced cast, but not a lot of the guys are that cute).

Also, for those of you who aren't familiar with the song I referenced:

(Important note: The Who write a lot of songs about this topic.)

Ah, I see. I'd never heard "self abuse" as a euphemism for Mary Anne with the Shaky Hand.

Neither have I. I always considered it to be the opposite of self abuse.

I have like 10 stacks of iron but I still don't want to build a minecart rail. #AdditionalInformation

I didn't want to say fapping just like that. Seems inappropriate. That's what I did this weekend.

Sorry, I'll try to behave from now on... (but I also feel like little kids wouldn't know what toys are called?)

I feel like it's weird to call the female variety "fapping."

I went to a Catholic High School. That's what they called masturbation in the religion text book.

The book also said to never do it. I don't think anyone bothered with it.

I'm pretty sure no one ever listened to religious restrictions on "self-abuse" except my little sister.

Though she's also a huge yaoi fangirl, and it's so weird: I feel like, she has to know what's going on when she feels funny while reading her Ed/Roy slash fics, you know?

I know at least one person who listened to those religious restrictions.

I feel sorry for them.

I actually went to, you know, one of those naughty kinds of stores once with my friend and her girlfriend. They wanted me to come along, but I kept feeling like I was interrupting something. (Note to those who don't know: Lesbians use a lot of toys.)

I was also just kind of amazed by the sheer variety of different things that were created purely for self-loving. (Or at least, mutual self-loving?) If any of you are of the right age in your country, I'd recommend visiting one even if only for gawking. It was quite an...eye-opening experience.

No, my ex girlfriend.

Ugh it's so stupid how easily so many girls fall for shaming about their sexuality.

The nice thing about a bisexual girl is pretty much any girls I'm likely to be with have to have already questioned most of that shit, because otherwise they probably wouldn't have been able to realize they were lesbian or bi in the first place.

Yeah, me too.

That sounds interesting, I'll have to check it out sometime. For science of course.

I'm a Christian. I have yet to meet a Christian who doesn't self abuse. I believe it's something everybody does.

Maybe we should call this "self esteem" rather than "self harm"?

Still something that's going to fly over most people's heads, but sends the message that it's a good thing.

Oh, of course. I mean, I'm a pastor's kid, and my dad (the pastor) is well aware that I do it. (When I was a teenager I think I had one of those "do guys really like this?" conversations with him or something. I'm weird.) I'm not religious, but I'm well-aware that Christians are not all prudes. It's more that girls of all religious persuasions are more likely to internalize toxic messages about their sexuality and shame; it's not like you have to go to church to hear that it's "weird" for girls to like sex.

Damn right it's a good thing. Pleasureable, enjoyable, good ol' time.
