Cider over here only means what you'd call hard cider, we'd call the other kind alcohol free cider or whatever.

Hey guys! We're talking about American vs. British slang?

I think "pavement" is used in a different context in the UK than in the U.S. In the latter you'd only call it the pavement if you're literally talking about the actual street itself (i.e. if you dropped your pizza on the ground it "hit the pavement").

Hey, my combo Upper Midwest/Mid-Atlantic accent is bitchin'.
