Parties are for squares, like drinking, but not pants.

Eh, nightlife is how I meet people - particularly, people who might want to have sex with me.

If I stay home and watch anime, I mean, it's fun, but I don't meet anyone. And that's too easy for me to do, because I'm an introvert with social anxiety.

So don't discourage me from going to parties you guys. I need this, to get out of my comfort zone.

My comfort zone is pretty damn comfortable, so I don't wanna move. Plus, parties are no fun without friends.

LIST OF THINGS THAT SQUARES DO:
Drink
Party
Be in Relationships
Play CoD
Pay electricity bills
Wear pants
Drink Pepsi
You, ma'am are the worst person in the world, nothing on your list is short of amazing. Especially Pepsi, considering how Pepsi Twist is the best thing ever.

The nice thing is one of the big promoters of this event is the website I write for, which means a lot of the girls there will be girls who read my articles and think I'm a brilllllllliant writer and shit. So I can be like "Hey! I'm a writer for X! I wrote Y and Z articles!" and it'll probably get me lots of ladies.

THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN OFTEN TO ME.

Oh, we're not trying to. We're simply taking out our frustration and jealousy in the form of condescent.

Fuck is it with this thread and suddenly always ending up with talking about drinking? It's getting to the point where's it's genuinely annoying.

I mean, it's seriously not that fucking great. I might take a few beers now and then with friends, but really?

That's your personal opinion.

It's not like I'm doing it intentionally, I just end up thinking about doing it a lot. When you're a 22-year-old grad student in a major city, a big part of your social life ends up revolving around going out for drinks, to clubs and bars and such.

Also, in the U.S. right now it's early on a Saturday night. It's gonna be on the brain.

You are doing it intentionally, and if you don't realize this, I don't even know what I could say to convince you otherwise.

It's just that a lot of other people are making the same, intentional choice that makes it feel "unintentional" because everyone else is doing it.

Regardless of what you or anyone thinks of it, my point is that the topic is fucking stale and is somehow treated like something it's not.

I think you're making way too much of it.

All I said to start this was "Alcohol helps" when Jolene said "parties are for squares," to explain how I enjoy parties.

There have been times in the Conversational Chat when people were talking about things I didn't care about. I didn't get mad about it. I just left and waited until they were talking about something I wanted to discuss.

Dude relax. It is her right to do what she wants. It's a free country. You can't force your will on people.

So it's a 45-minute or so bus ride.

I'm trying to decide if I should go right now and get dinner somewhere around there, or get food here and then leave to go there.

Get food close. What if the bus breaks down? Then you don't eat or party.

It probably won't, but you're right. Besides, I hear shit's more expensive around there.

Ugh, I think this route has me go through a slightly sketch part of Boston. WHATEVER. I'M A CITY GIRL AND I CAN HANDLE MY SHIT.

I watched Fairly Oddparents religiously and I can tell you that does not come up in my memory. I'm assuming its a newer episode thing.

I dunno bout the others, but for me I like it. Sure its annoying and immature, but considering how I started drinking only a year ago, like all simple minded 19 year old guys, I'm gonna act my age about it, and act like its the greatest thing under the sun. Couple it with college and I'll basically be a stereotype.
