Yeah, we were out in town until about 1 AM (looked like noon) but when we just closed the windows up when we were going to sleep. It wasn't too bad, it just felt odd.

HUGO CHAVEZ DIED!

I'm probably the only person who cares.

Wow. I know he wasn't the best of leaders, but a lot of what he did to turn Venezuela around was right, and I'm sad not only because the world lost a great leader, but because Venezuela might do a 180 and not follow up on his dream of creating a better country. I mean sure he was one of the "bad" guys, but public housing for all didn't sound too bad of a plan.

I can usually deal with a lot of cold weather, but I don't see how anyone can survive in Fairbanks in the winter.

I have no opinion on Chavez dying.

I wish I could understand politics. I don't like being apathetic. -_-

No one really understands politics. I honestly believe at this point things are too muddled, and any form of conception or belief of what's really going on in the world is too uninformed. Sure you can discuss the current party(ies) in power and possible future candidates, but the true motives and gears that we will likely never see until its too late make things harder to grasp. You can understand the base concepts and movements or even the more advanced movements, but you'll never truly understand the present day political world.

@Chespin; I think if you know enough, it's not too hard to guess at those motivations. People like to act like politicians are some shadowy group apart from the rest of us, but actually, they're people just like anyone else. They want to be important. They want to make money and provide for their families. They're as greedy as anyone else. It's a lot of those basic, human needs and wants that I think ultimately explains better than anything about what goes on in politics, including the shadier stuff.

Anyway, I just had a four-hour nap and I'm debating if I should go back to bed.

I'm watching Mad Men and I can't believe this episode is making me feel bad for Pete Campbell.

Ugh I have a German midterm on Thursday and I have to start studying soon.

Its not the internet, but the internet's consumer logic. Even if EA does put out some decent games, microtransaction bullshit and what not kill any respect you can have for them as a game developer.

I don't have a problem with EA, really. Everything I've bought from them has been worth it.

Same with Capcom. I know a lot of people have been having problems with their marketing techniques, but the stuff I buy from them is worth the money I put out.

And of course it's the exact opposite for Valve, they can get away with whatever (like delaying a game for 6 years) and they'll still be the saints of the internet.

No, Capcom's issue is the flat line approach to this gen compared to last. Thing is however how do you exactly follow up to their PS2/XBox support? You simply can't that's how. Mistreatment of some IP's isn't exactly the best thing either, and the sole fact that this gen is the first without a Breath of Fire is sad.

Oh, I'm not saying valve is perfect, but EA is still pretty shitty.

I don't recall ever buying any EA games, so I can't really form an opinion about it. What's so bad about them?

I just sent a letter out to a friend and I'm actually pretty nervous. I didn't put a return address on it, my handwriting is pretty recognisable, and my mother works in the post office. This should be fun.
