- EA
- Always online

*fix'd

Always online is bad enough, but when they sprinkle it with some genuine EA™ magic, it gets really, really bad.

I can't even fathom who the fuck thought it would be a great idea to have a 30 minute retry time to connect to the servers. That's some special quality bullshit right there.

microtransaction bullshit and what not kill any respect you can have for them as a game developer.

Pretty much, yeah. Not to mention the fact that they don't care for games with solely single player and have a tendency to ruin franchises just by touching them.

And of course it's the exact opposite for Valve, they can get away with whatever (like delaying a game for 6 years) and they'll still be the saints of the internet.

Nah, that's not really true. If it hadn't been for the sales, way fewer people would care. And Steam is still DRM.

That being said, Valve do have a better track record, but I don't see a point in HL3, as there's no way it can live up to the hype it would get.

I know nothing of EA games.

I have a German midterm tomorrow. I feel like I should be way more worried about it than I am, considering how much studying (none) I've gotten done so far.

On a completely different note, I'm wondering if I should start reading Cat's Cradle, the one big Vonnegut novel I haven't read yet. For some reason, Mother Night (the one I read most recently) has been coming back to me a lot lately, particularly since I started my FMA marathon a few weeks ago. It's one of those novels that doesn't necessarily impress you on first reading, but really sticks with you.

Maybe take some Acetaminophen to help with the fever? And try drinking some cool water or something, I don't know ^^'

Try chewing on some ice, that's what I do when I start getting too warm. But if it's an actual fever than maybe you should take a tablet. ;w;

Yeah because a shower complimented by a cold draft really helps a cold. Wait a minute....
OH and this is why EA suck:

Its the first week, and the server's are crashing without any tangible date for when they'll be up again. And the game opens in a couple of hours for Europe too. Welcome to the future of gaming guys!

I wanted to like this then I saw that I already liked it :d.

Well that is also why most people are so fed up with the always on thing. Because you buy a game and you want to play not wait for them
to fix their servers. Sadly it has happened more often with the games of EA. But I also wonder why internet is always needed for the game, yeah
they said it was needed for the simulation but a little of it could have been done in game couldn't it.

Its not needed for the simulation, its needed so they can "stop piracy" whatever that meant. Always online DRM is not the future, at least not outside the US. Even in the US its still an issue, but the world on a whole is simply not ready for it. I really hate the bullshit direction gaming is going as an America centered entertainment medium, considering how none of the other forms of entertainment are still global. Proprietary hardware for music, movies, and what not might not exist and all in one devices are the future, but being greedy for the sake of being greedy is not. I seriously fucking hope the industry has a soft crash so these companies can wake up and smell the coffee.

Well in interviews they said that it was needed for the simulation of production of goods and on the global market. True it is mostly used
to stop piracy but in my eyes the cure is worse then the illness. And now EA stated they want to move to a new model f2p which sound good but it becomes
pay to win which sucks.

provide fun again what games where meant to do.
