I never saw the V for Vendetta movie, so what'd they do to the ending?

They didn't really change the ending. They just changed a lot of other shit that pissed me off.
oooh, that always feels weird when watching movies where you know the source material

i did see League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I'd say it's one of those movies you can watch on FX, at least when it's on

I also think the most moving stuff in V for Vendetta, the original graphic novel, was the stuff that never had a snowball's chance of hell of making it into a big-budget version of the film because it was also the darkest, most disturbing stuff.

I mean, that book is bleak as fuck. But it's sooooooo gooooooooooood.

(Like I honestly have trouble deciding which book I like better, that or Watchmen.)

I think I like Vendetta more.

Alan Moore has wrote a lot of cool stories, and probably two of the best Superman stories ever (Whatever Happened to The Man of Tomorrow and For The Man Who Has Everything)

V is prob one of my favorite things from him though

@Typhlosionisafirebadger; My cats are always framing each other for their misdeeds.

Your cat sounds like it would get along with my cat Petey. He's a troublemaker.

Anyway, so I went to a different section of German today because my usual professor is in Germany. There's another girl in my department who is in that section and has a crush on the professor, and... let's just say after today I can see why. Er ist so heiß!

(well that's exaggerating a bit - more like, cute in a nerdy professor way)

Cillian Murphy doesn't really do anything for me, and no, the professor doesn't look like him.

But he's still pretty cute. What's more, he's actually a doctoral student, so like, it wouldn't be wrong for me to date him since he's not technically my professor and I'm also a grad student! See, I've got it all planned out in my head already. :-D

(Seriously, though, I had a massive crush on one of my music history professors in undergrad. It was embarrassing. But because I didn't do anything inappropriate about it, I'm pretty sure he just saw me as an extra-motivated student, and he actually became an important mentor for me who wrote a bunch of my recommendations for grad school.)

Pokemon Showdown has a huge abundance of noobs. I mean, every place on the internet has them, but Showdown has the most disrespectful memberbase ever, I swear. The sad thing is, some of the noobs are actually moderators on there.

This is just in my experience, I'm not on every site or anything. YouTube is probably up there, I almost never read anything under the top comments, which are normally decent enough.

I hate how I always feel insecure whenever I think I say something stupid or something someone wasn't really that interested, even when I'm out with a good friend (who's, like, not going to judge me for one night of bad conversation) or we've been drinking. It's like I can never escape my anxiety.

I completely know how you feel. I could be having a totally normal conversation with one of my closest friends and still feel extremely nervous that I was saying something stupid or that they weren't really interested in what I was trying to say. Anxiety sure is a killer, right?

This is pretty much why I say very little. My fear of embarrassing myself in front of others is pretty bad :/

Same here, actually. I've become a little more open in school now that I know everyone better but I can't say the same for conversing to family on the street or people I don't know well. :<

I haven't posted on the Minecraft chat thread yet. They only allow 10 posts on the first day (I guess to make sure you're not a spam bot or something, I dunno), so I want to make them count.

Actually I think maybe I won't even post there at all. That thread moves way too fast.

I never understood why people liked playing Minecraft :p it doesn't seem like an appealing game to be honest.

I played it back awhile ago, when it was big in school and with a few friends of mine. I kinda stopped after awhile though because I just got bored.

Well, at least I know I'm not alone. (I mean, in an objective sense I've always known that, plenty of my friends and I have talked about having anxiety disorders, but it's easy to get bogged down in the moment.)

So AfterEllen.com did an infographic recently of every lesbian/bisexual TV character sorted into the Hogwarts houses. While it was funny, I think that this is a perfect example of why I don't really read AfterEllen anymore. It used to have some really smart, interesting analyses of television and now it's all "FANGIRL SQUEEEEEE!" (Particularly about Glee, which is the stupidest show and I can't believe I used to enjoy it. And I just don't see why anyone still cares about that show.)
