I can't really get into Minecraft either, just not my thing :/ which is weird, since usually I am easily amused.

Minecraft is kinda out of my usual videogaming zone. I'm usually in to RPGs or stategy-based games, though occasionally I'll play something different, just for fun.

I played Minecraft once. I didn't do so well in Survival Mode. Couldn't even make myself a house to live in. So I haven't played since , but I'm willing to give it a chance.

I'm back. I came into the department to get work done, and because my friend said she'd be in today.

But I apparently I missed her, because there is no one here. No professors, no other grad students, nobody. Except me.

It's kind of spooky when I'm alone here, actually.

I love the irony that the EU is planning a ban on porn, considering how almost all of the major cinematography to come out of its countries in the last 50 years all involve softcore porn or nudity in more then 1 scene. Sorry if this breaches any sort of boundary on the rules, delete comment as appropriately as it should.

I sense that there are important details missing from this story.

Last Tuesday I was alone on our floor. It ain't creepy but really awesome no one to stop you from doing weird things. Normally there are like 80 people on our floor.
And I also went to my school a couple of times and it was absolutely desolated. I like it you can whisle all you want without strange looks.

At @Chespin; what context please :d. I know they are trying it in Iceland.

Well the downside to that is I was hoping working here would make me more productive than working in my apartment, because there would be other people around.

Not so much the case now...

Lol that was most of the time why I went too school wen it was quiet most of the time I went here :d.
@Chespin; Omg I need to punch some people really :s, I like my porn and why do those politicians meddle with these kind of affairs no horses in your politicians yet :| .

Omg it will cost bucket loads to enforce this shit. We don't need that crap right now :s. Well gender equallity is fine and all but that is something that
comes and goes I think better sexual education would be better overall.
Well education will fix most things where there is currently a ban on.

I really hate when people use feminism as an argument for this. This is the reason people have awful misconceptions about feminists.

(Granted, anti-porn feminism is a strong trend in it, but lately it's been more and more eclipsed by sex-positive feminism that takes a more nuanced view of porn; the latter is the kind of feminism to which I subscribe. And even still, just because someone thinks porn is inherently misogynistic and bad, does not mean they want it to be banned. There are a lot of things I find objectionable that I nevertheless, don't want to ban because preserving freedom of speech is more important to me.)

(Also, the anti-porn feminists have nearly always been bitten in the ass when they advocated for laws like this, because they end up being used as well to ban feminist texts that are sexually-explicit.)

That last bit would be good if I can stop hearing 15yr old girls rant for hours on the bus about every little detail in 50 shades of gray, that shit is straight up creepy.

Well, that's another issue. Why is erotica OK but porn isn't?

Part of it could be that porn involves real people and erotica doesn't, but I don't think that's really the point of it; if a person in porn is consenting and getting paid, that shouldn't be an issue, and there's plenty of porn out there that doesn't involve actual people (e.g., hentai). I think the gist is that a lot of this is gendered. Erotica is seen as a girl thing, and women's sexuality just isn't taken seriously in our society, so people don't see it as a threat. But they see pornography as a threat because it's seen as a guy thing.

Well that is just parent doing a bad job at parenting, that isn't a job of the government. Well that is my opinion.

Well that, and for people who are old enough to use porn, it should be no one's business.

I mean, it does bother me just how extreme porn has gotten in the last few decades, and I do take issue if we find out that there's illegal sex trafficking in porn. But the first is still really no one's business, and can be addressed through better sex education (to make people realize that the way that porn portrays sex is not necessarily accurate). The latter - well, then the issue isn't with the porn itself. It's with the way it's made.

That is because it isn't regulated because it is seen as something illegal but it should be look upon like a normal business providing legal document of their workers and such.
And don't get me started on things like drugs because my view on that is basically the same but that is kinda off topic here.

Yeah, erotica really irks me as you have described it. People tend to shrug it off, but at the moment where its become mainstream is where the line should be drawn. Porn isn't as bad as you already said, but erotica being mainstream should be the issue instead. And its not bad parenting if the 15yr olds are discussing it, its society being a bit poor in quality to allow such a thing to happen.
