By the way Spongebob is still awesome. It's a gateway drug for small kids to be introduced to good cartoons. It helps to prevent them from getting into too many braindead modern shows. There are some good new episodes, but SPONGEBOB DOES NOT SUCK!

Guys, I need to make sure I stop changing my usertitle.

I like this one, but I'm worried my opinion is going to sour on it at some point, like it did with the others. HELP ME.

Eh... but they weren't as good as the older ones. I agree with your statment it's like how the legend of avatar is a gateway drug for anime.

Which makes me miss the heyday of the Adult Swim Saturday Night Anime Bloc. That's how we used to get people into anime.

Even though the only one of those series I was ever really into was FMA.

(I remember Conqueror of Shamballa came out right as I was beginning my Weimar Republic phase. Sweet Jesus.)

I can't agree unfortunately. There's a decent new Spongebob episode once in a blue moon. And I really don't think it's due to "nostalgia" or anything. There just seems to be more heart, originality, and most importantly, more funnies in the earlier episodes.

I was an InuYasha addict back in the day. I woke up at 5 every weekday morning to watch that. Watched every episode I believe.

I miss the days when I woke up at 5 for fun. Now I wake up at 5 against my will.

My sister was a really hardcore otaku who turned me off a lot of it after a while. FMA aired early enough that I could watch it and be like "hey, this is actually pretty good!" before her fangirling every time a remotely cute-looking guy came on the screen made me just want to escape upstairs and listen to my classic rock albums on full blast.

Yuki Kajiura did the music to .hack SIGN! She also was the composer for Madoka! She's really good!

That sums up the totality of my knowledge about that franchise.

Well now I have a reason to watch that anime. I remember watching the later ones, never did catch SIGN.

You'd never know it from me now, but I used to really really REALLY hate yaoi fangirls.

Because my sister was a really annoying one.

Though I still hate ones who think that actual gay men exist for them to fetishize.

Apparently her music was such a major part of that show's appeal, the DVD has an option that lets you watch it with the dialogue and sound effects off, just the soundtrack.

Re: this conversation, I was going to link my article about Otakon, but I feel kind of weird doing that because there's a picture of me in there with three other Bulba users and I don't know if they'd be cool with it.
