I prefer to have meat on the side of the sandwich rather than in it. My lunch most days for the past two weeks has been a cheese salad sandwich with two slices of ham rolled up on the side.

I don't eat a lot of meat though. I was vegetarian for two years and pescetarian for one. Had to start eating meat again for health reasons.

I hate sandwiches. They remind me of male dominance.

I've been trying (and failing) to read Lolita for seven years. I love the concept and I can recognise the obvious influence the book has had but I just don't like the writing style. One day I'm sure I'll give in and just buy the DVD; I tend to refuse to watch film versions until I've read the books.

See, Nabokov's writing style is precisely why I love that book so much, but to each their own I suppose.

If you see the movie, make sure to see the 1960s one. Stanley Kubrick directing + Peter Sellers acting = perfection.

I'm guessing that's directed at the last sentence? It completely messed up my immune system, even with being careful and making sure to source vitamins elsewhere. I managed fine until I started living in a dormitory - but there were always bugs going around in that sort of environment. :/ Moved out two years ago but didn't think of giving up meat again. Although when I'm cooking just for myself I still mainly use vegetarian alternatives.

And there's the bait! As an aspiring director (well, I do direct - but only short films, advertisements, and a political debate so far), when someone is praised I can't help but want to see their work.

Okay, I know this isn't the photos thread, but I have a Skype interview for a very important position in 15 minutes, and I need advice on this matter: There's a party in my mind: Is this good for my Skype interview tonight, or do...

You look lovely :)

Also, this is the first time I've ever heard of a Skype interview.

Danke!

And yeah, apparently they're all the rage now. I have one in about 10 minutes for this position as a university writing tutor I applied for last month. Eep! So nervous!

TIME TO GET DRUNK!

Excellent. Excellently excellent.

It's 3am over here, I'm in bed listening to Daft Punk. I dunno.

Well, I mean that I should go out. It's a Friday night and I got all gussied up for this interview anyway.

(Which ended up being arguably the least important part? I mean, she saw me briefly, but my Skype mic wasn't working tonight, so we had to switch to the phone.)

What I'm happiest about is that MY ROLEPLAYING ABILITIES PAID OFF because she had me roleplay a meeting with a student (since I'm applying to be a writing tutor). WHOEVER THOUGHT.
