Blasted house centipedes! One of them single handedly (legedley?) forced me to retreat from my own bathroom. I'll have to reclaim it soon, though it'll be dangerous...

I vote for killing the centipede with a boot.
I don't know that a boot would be the most efficient way of slaughtering it. I need to find a better way to kill these bastards, the last one I encountered got away because I took too long to find a suitable weapon.

I vote for leaving it the fuck alone, since it's a thousand times smaller than you and is pretty defenseless. Do you condone killing defenseless things in general, or just the things that look nasty?

Centipedes and large spiders are my enemies. Anything in my shower or bed, though, is getting the boot.

Anyway, I was trying to decide if I should exercise or do my laundry today, since I only have time for one. Then I remembered I was going to the dim sum place for dinner, and walking there requires enough of a walk to justify saving the gym for tomorrow. So I made my decision.

Just the nasty ones. I sometimes avoid killing spiders and such because, while they're creepy, I allow them to live. Centipedes, specifically house centipedes, can just go die, though. They're one of the few animals that I will kill simply because they exist.

Just look at them.

The only thing I condemn killing are Parasites. As tasty as I am, my body ain't your drug.

Let's kill things because we don't like them, what a wonderful attitude!

Well, parasites that try to weaken me is killed. This is obviously just basic instinct.

I'd rather have a few spiderbros in my house than other insects to be honest. I wouldn't want them in my bed, but if they creep in my bed, they're probably in bigger danger than I am if I roll over them or something.

I take no pleasure in killing spiders but it's not something I feel guilty about. I'm sure they wouldn't think twice about killing me if they were human sized.

This world is theirs, just as it is ours. We have no right to decide if they can or can't live. We aren't god, we can't do that.

What am I supposed to do? They frickin scare me, it's not like I do it "for the lulz". And compared to most people, I'm probably really nice towards insects and spiders.

Humans have always played god. Millions of animals and insects are killed everyday. When you kill an insect you kill it because you're afraid of it, not for any horrible reason. Only a strict vegan who has literally never harmed a fly, can take the moral high ground when it comes to killing insects.

These bugs are kind of invading my territory. I don't care if they realize it or not, if they're making me uncomfortable by going near me, I'll end them. If they wanna live elsewhere, fine, I won't bother them.

The people that piss me off are people that hunt for sport. It's one thing to want to put food on the table, but when you make a game out of killing innocent animals, I think that's crossing the line.

Mosquitos suck my blood though, so it's ok to kill them right? That doesn't justify why I kill flying ants though. But the fact that they're less than a meter away from my house and tend to fly inside when they have the chance and then eat all the sugar on top of the fact you're likely to get them in your mouth every time you go outside justifies it enough for me.

I've never intentionally killed any insect, I always try and get them outside on a bit of paper or on my hands, I hate to think that they'll die if someone else less friendly toward them saw them. When I see people killing insects for no reason it makes me really angry.

By that logic we'd all be walking around with a head full of lice. Mijz what's the point in liking a post that advocates not harming insects then admitting that you do kill some of them :I

Nah, I don't classify lice or internal parasites as the same though. I don't even kill mosquitoes but things that are permananetly hosting off your body I don't have a problem with removing.

I'd never kill a bee, moth or daddy long legs or whatever other insects. So I share the same general sentiment. Lice also try to harm me so I don't have a problem killing those or other parasites either.

Easy to say if you live in a country that doesn't have them.

We do get mosquitos, and Gnats - lots of gnats. And I have been abroad lots of times to places that do indeed have a higher population of mosquitos and have had them in the house at the time. Still never killed one.

Sounds like you want to take the moral high ground whilst still killing insects. Last I heard, bees stung and spiders can bite. In the case of mosquitos, taking a tiny bit of blood is worth taking its life? Phobia is much more excusable than those kind of reasons. It sounds to me like that is killing out of annoyance more than anything. I don't really kill insects. If I see one, I'll ask whoever is around to take care of it. The times I have killed say, a spider, it's because of primal fear.

I'm very afraid of fish, I still wouldn't kill one. I once saw a fish that got stranded on the side of a pond (don't ask me how), pushed it back in with a stick despite the fact it gave me creeps all over.
