Oh god, this week's quantum mechanics assignment makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
I have concluded that Minecraft is a programming language.
I wouldn't say creating machines is equal to programming. Then again, you didn't specify what kind of machine.
I'm planning on writing my own game during the summer.
Why are you doing it in the summer if it is to get better for an exam?
Why are you doing it in the summer if it is to get better for an exam?
Because there is no way in hell I can complete it while reading for five different exams. I start it now, and continue. Besides, I have loads of time in the summer, at least when I'm not working.
Besides, I want to make it anyways, and I can use the training as an excuse to make something fun.
Recently I've been making a big effort to learn stuff, game design included. If everything goes well and I don't slack off I still wanna make a Pokemon fangame.
You should make a character called Krog the Barbarian and there should be a side quest in which you help him find the band of elven thieves who killed his wife. Once you find them you have to help him kill them and remove their scalps, and your reward is half of the scalps that you collect which you can either sell to mercenary dwarves for a high price (because they can bring them back to their prefectural marshal in exchange for renown and prestige of course) or use them to brew potions of necromancy so you can raise an army of the dead.

Good idea. Couldn't you just bring them back to the dwarven prefectural yourself to get prestige in order to make an alliance with the dwarves in order to loot the secret city of the blood mage pirates to get their secrets (of pirate blood magic, obviously)?
I still need some sort of overarching story-line though. Any creative souls with any input here?
Also, it started to snow a bit when I was out running. It didn't stick around, but it's not what you want at the start of May.
Also, today was the first day I noticed that (-1)^x = cos(pi*x)+i*sin(pi*x). Pretty neat
See, this is why we make such a good team. That should definitely be an option. If you do that then the elves should start to dislike you. They didn't know you killed the thieves before because no one was left alive, but if you present the scalps to the dwarves then they know it was you and now you are their enemy.
Well I have some thoughts about a story that I was going to use for my RPG if you would like to hear about that. I'm probably never going to make one so it's whatever.
dude i think u just dropped sumthing on tha keyboerd
What if you use the scalps for necromancy? I doubt the elves would like that their own kin is used for those purposes. Unless they are necromancers as well. Never heard of many elves being necromancers, but there's a first for everything.
Feel free to shoot away.
Basically the ancient ancestral people have sealed up a great power (powerful beings or gods or whatever) in the heart of the kingdom. They knew the power was unwieldy and impossible to tame, but as generations go on they forget and eventually decide to unseal the power and use it in a massive war against another kingdom or something. Obviously everything goes wrong when they try to control it. My idea was basically that the player character starts off as a soldier going to fight the other kingdom, but then you realize that you have to go on a quest to seal away the gods again.
