I dunno, my Umbreon was pretty useful. I kinda depended on it a lot. My team ended up being Umbreon, Raikou, Entei and Suicune, Tyranitar and I dont remember the 6th one cause it's been a really long time since I played it.

Oh, I actually prefered using Espeon. It could usually ohko stuff with psychic while Umbreon was hardly able to with it's strongest attack being faint attack.

Why aren't you using Curse + Payback? It's like you want to lose.

That being said, even that is pretty crap offensively, and playing defensively in-game doesn't work out too well. Though Cotton Guard + Leech Seed Prankster Whimsicott works wonder. Stalled out N's Zekrom easily. And Rocky Helmet Iron Barbs Ferrothorn is priceless when the enemy hits five times with Doubleslap.

I kinda depended on it a lot

Well, a lot of Psychic 'mons are pretty OP in-game. Well, at least when they get Psychic.

I remember that game being kinda difficult. I had a hard time with all the double battles, I dont particularly like anything other than singles. Doubles are ok I guess.

I never used any of the eeveelutions in game. I just breed 7, evolve them then box them forever. Always did.

Well, I was thinking more Fourier series, wave equation etc., but I get your point. I was thinking from a mathematical point of view.

Yeah, I'd say that probably gets into the "a little too esoteric for performers/composers" category.

But music theory, while not math, is very mathematical in the way you think about it when you do those assignments. (Which is probably why I never really liked it. But I do think it's important for musicians to know, and wanted to punch everyone in music school who thought they shouldn't have to take it because "But I could be practicing instead!")

I never used any of the eeveelutions in game. I just breed 7, evolve them then box them forever. Always did.

My Umbreon in Crystal was pretty badass.

(It's so telling that even as a Psychic-type fanatic, I ended up with an Umbreon anyway. Because I'm such a night owl.)

Pondering whether or not I should do a Nuzlocke challenge when I pick up Pokemon X Version.

You should probably do a Nuzlocke after you go through the game once. :p At least that way, you'll have a better idea of how to raise your team once you get used to the new Pokémon.

Although my field of study is spectrally opposite of Faye Valentine's, I agree on almost all counts. A one sided education can really cripple you - being completely focused on either the arts or the sciences is in my opinion a major failing as a student. While specializing in a field is good and necessary, it seems to be of vital importance to know all aspects of your work, it's effects and philosophical parallels. Without this you run the risk of (in the case of the sciences) becoming stale, rigid and derivative; or, in the case of the arts, leaning towards divergence and dissociation. Balance is key. Just my two cents.

One thing that bothers me is how people equate the purity of disciplines with inclusiveness, for example... In order of purity, Mathematics>physics>chemistry>biology. Then they go on to assume that because all of these disciplines are included, as a rule, within philosophy, that it belongs at the far left of the list. I don't know how else to explain this, so I hope someone gets it.

On the Eeveelution discussion, I like Flareon the most, but I like Sylveon too. The others are alright, aside from Jolteon. I kinda dislike Jolteon (sorry Zima).

I love Jolteon. My least favourite eevelution is probably Espeon.

While I love the Eeveelutions, I would have to say that Espeon is also my least favorite. That or Vaporeon.

ITT - Espeon racists.

:(
Most people don't prefer Jolteon over the others, (or have it as a favorite Pokemon for that matter) so I know how you feel. >:
