Maybe its just the summer effect. People can't really think of anything, when I'm not really doing anything.

Well, here's a topic, is anyone interested in any of the films out in the cinema at the moment? I'm going to see Despicable Me 2 tomorrow, and I'm sure there's something coming out soon that I'm desperate to see.

New topic: Independence Day

Okay since two people both started a new topic, we will combine them. The Will Smith movie Independence Day.

Fucking love that movie. Jeff Goldblum is classic Jeff Goldblum, and Will Smith punches an alien in the face.

I don't think I've ever seen the Will Smith film Independence Day. Gee, I feel like there are so many films everyone here likes that I've never watched. xD What's the plot?

And also, Independence Day in general... I have no opinion on it, 'cuz I'm not American. xD

It's a 1996 summer blockbuster starring Will Smith about an alien invasion. Fighter pilot Will Smith and computer scientist Jeff Goldblum have to save the world. It's really a classic.

Blasphemy. It's awesome.

Also independence day is terrible and I would rank it among the worst movies I've ever seen.

Why?

For then, for now... I just don't like blockbuster movies, or well most of them.

Really? I thought I was here longer.

I don't go to the movies often, but last I went, it was for World War Z, which was an okay movie, but Hollywood isn't like what it used to be...

While there are very few original movies these days, I think it's always been like that. We just don't think about the crappy movies of old because no one remembers them. We just remember the classics and the ones that did well. We still have good movies today, like Django Unchained, Inception, etc.

I don't think I'm going to see WWZ, it didn't look super interesting. Last movie I saw in theaters was Man of Steel which was horrible, but at least I had fun talking with my friend about how bad it was.

I don't really remember, but I hated most of it about it except for will smith talking smack to the alien he captured. The only reason I saw it to the end was because it was family-movie night or something. The worst scene is when they give the speech about how Independece day will now be the holiday for the day the earth has become free. Even people I know who like the movie admit how cringeworthy that was.

What really adds salt to the wound is the fact they're remaking half of the old classics, which they fail miserably at by the way.

If I choose favorite, which I don't. I would say spirited away would probably be my favorite movie.

Yeah, but you can easily ignore the new movie and just watch the old one. Same with the reboots that they keep doing.
