@Bikini Miltank; Who's that girl in your signature? I've seen her before but I dunno who she is.

@Avarus-Cantus; Then explain to me why the battle system is so complex. If it were so casual, would there be so much stuff? In game, I don't really give a crap if my Pokemon are EV trained or if my Arcanine knows Flare Blitz, but competitively it's a big deal. If people weren't meant to ever battle competitively at all, why add all the stuff?

Though some people do just take it too far.

By playing competitive Pokemon, you're basically saying that you wanna take something designed for fun cas,ual play far too seriously. And it shows.

Because as part of the geek culture, you have to take things seriously and make something not fun and casual.

Even Game Freak is aware of competitive play, and they try their best to nerf certain Pokemon by creating counters.

Debating is fine, but please, no taunting comments. That's baiting.
-------

Even if it's a game, people can take it seriously if they want to. We might word it 'serious', but for them, that's how they enjoy playing it. If I liked the competing with people and winning, I'd like competitive battling and trying to perfect my teams as much as I can as well.

Well, considering Pokemon didn't get IVs or EVs until Generation 3, it is apparent to me that they only did it to satisfy the people who think Pokemon is more than a pastime.

@GD untrue.

She's Shantae, from an obscure-ish GBC game of the same name. She's a genie who fights pirates with the power of belly dancing. It's awesome.
There was a sequel on DSiware, which is generally considered the best game on the service by a long way (not that there was much competition).

If something isn't fun, and nobody's making you do it...

Why would you do it?

Either this is intended as some ironic commentary on the state of the fandom, or deliberate self-flagellation. Why keep doing something that you don't enjoy?

Seafood is good. I love shrimp.
I've had rice like twice a day for the past week.

That Shantae game costs like $12 on the eShop. I don't have that kind of money.

EVs and IVs existed since the beginning. They just behaved differently in Gens I and II.
I seem to recall that in Gen II, the Attack IV was used to determine gender.

@Avarus-Cantus; Pokemon definitely did have IVs and EVs in gens 1 and 2. That's why someone in game told you that every pokemon, even of the same species, is slightly different. If EVs didn't exist then vitamins would be useless. IVs are even used in Gen 2 to determine shininess. They just revamped the system in gen 3, which is why you can't trade between gens 2 and 3.

@TheShuckpluff; Did you edit your blog or something? The reason I commented on your blog was I got a new Mention notice from that blog. Not complaining because the comments were worth reading. :p

@RaccoonGoon; new blog?

I have been informed incorrectly. Oh well. Challenge Cup is the only battle system worth playing, imo.

Who is Joshawott?
