Yeah, I have the same worries. I'll be avoiding the BW2 forums and pretty much anywhere else for the next few days tbh. We don't get it till Thursday here.

Still no official news for Black 2 and White 2 here in Korea, I won't be playing those games till winter it seems. (...frankly I can't complain about that, better than dealing with the temptation during school months -w-;)

I've been playing Super Paper Mario recently. Thought I'd give the game a go, it's not bad but not as good as the previous two games.

I can ruin the game for you without having played it.

This is why I don't like third versions. I already know how everything looks like. At least with new regions even if I spoil myself most of it will still be new to me.

This. I was far more excited for B/W, than I am the sequels. Maybe I'm just getting old though haha.

No, I feel the same way. I'm still looking forward to playing it, but I don't have the same level of enthusiasm I did when Gen V was first released (and the same with every generation before it).

As I get older I do get less excited for video games, i'm just losing interest I guess. The only game I'm really looking forward to is GTA V

I'm excited for BW2. Funny, I've missed the release for every "third version" so far except for this, though these aren't third versions.

To Game Freak's credit, I've thought every "third version" preceding this one has been a marked improvement over the original games for the respective generation (except Yellow, but that's because it was my first Pokemon game). I'd much rather play Emerald and Platinum than R/S or D/P, for example.

I liked all of them pretty much. I've been playing through Emerald but am having a tough time with it, gonna take a break from it for White 2. I've never played Platinum though, thats the only third version I haven't played.

I think Platinum was a big improvement, most noticeably in how fast the battles go. They're as slow as molasses in D/P, but in Platinum they're more up to speed.

Oh definitely, the third version is the better game. And yet i still get suckered into playing the first game haha.

Platinum was a vast improvement over D/P in that regard.

We all get suckered into playing the first versions, because if we didn't we'd all be waiting around for the 3rd versions and it would be unbearable :p

Platinum was a perfect example of third versions, and it's my favorite pokémon game. Emerald's problem for me is that it doesn't fix what I think is RS' problems to begin with. Platinum manages this, it takes most of DP's problems and fixes them. Don't know about Crystal, didn't really play it.

They still suck compared to the first two. The first two are new, new region, new pokémon, new characters, etc. Best a third version can do is new forms and a little of the other two.

And B2W2 are pretty much third versions.

No thanks. XD
I'll probably clear the game soon anyway, I finished Chapter 4.

I agree, Platinum was really good, it fixed the issues that D/P had, especially with loading speed. It remains my favorite Pokemon game.

Emerald is not the greatest third version, it has very little difference between it and RS.

Story wise, not much, but i think there is more to do after the league, given the battle factory, pike, etc
