Re: The Bulbagarden Non-Topic Conversational Thread

Watch their feet.

They also don't disappear into DOORS or exit tiles unless it's a cutscene.

Eh. *shrugs* It's just sprites. ._. I've had real-life ghost encounters, virtual ones like this? pssh, lame-o. They aren't, like, attacking you or jumping out of at, the screen just pans a little to show them.

Though the only real life ghost encounter was with a past-dog, where we heard him fall down the last few steps (common occurrence when he was alive), thought it was our new puppy who some how got around the gate, but when he walked out of another room, a decent distance away from the stairs, me and my sister went "OH. MY GOD." and were like "Well okay then, house is haunted by our old dog" and then went on with what we were doing. :p

short version: So long as they're not malevolent, it doesn't creep me out. Simple events like that are nothing.

It just creeped me out because I know for sure stuff like that isn't suppose to happen.

I've had kind of a ghostly encounter numerous times... Mostly in my house in New York, which was like a hundred-something year old Victorian house.

And my grandparent's house, which was a Civil War farmhouse.

But wait, weren't you LOOKING for it? ._. How can you not know it's supposed to happen if you're looking for it?

But eh, maybe I'm just not phased by things like that. :p The only thing I wonder now is what really is the importance of it all.

on an unrelated note: omg what the-- Poliwhirl's spiral in the art used for your sig is screwy. The inner most circle is going the wrong way! I was looking at it and went "Something's off..." and it finally hit me.

I've never seen them because I'm never in the old chateau. There's just no reason for me to be there.

I was only wandering around cause I was curious and it was daytime so I couldn't get my Rotom yet. :p Which I'm not sure what I should keep my Rotom as (I traded it over to my SS, cause it's kinda pointless on Pearl :p) A fridge following me is funny, but so would a Lawn Mower, Oven, Washing Machine, and a fan...

Hm, thinking about it, a lawn mower might be the most hilarious actually... But I don't need a grass type in HGSS, I have my Meganium... :/ The only one that would be a type I don't have covered at all is the Fridge and it's ice move. Though, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter, I'll likely just have Rotom following me for the laughs. xD

why do you have SS anyway? I don't really feel like it's fair for Americans to have Japanese copies even if they know Japanese.
some of us kinda don't like Japanese language, just because of that we shouldn't have to wait months and months longer than those who can speak moonspeak.

edit: unless you live in Japan? >___>

... I only like it in the music, it sounds lovely, but when spoken? god no! D:

oh well, it's not as if I'm really into Pokemon much these days... stupid j-rock boys... although I really love you Non-chan *__*

Today, it's our region that have been issued with a flood-warning. Haven't seen much of the rain, but expecting it later.

:/ If I can understand it enough to enjoy it, and have the money to afford importing it, why CAN'T I import it? Why should I have to wait if I can understand it? If you wanted to play it early, learn Japanese (or in the very least Hiragana/Katakana) and import the games (or just download the ROMs/not learn the language and button mash). Life's not fair, though I'm sure you already know that.

It's your choice not to learn the language and wait until the US release. Just because people like me live in America shouldn't mean we have to wait with the rest of the country if we can afford the upped price for the game (60$+ S&H for most JP DS games these days... Dx Damn conversion rate) just because some people think it's "not fair".

I have my Japanese Pokemon games (Pearl and SS) for two main reasons:
1. Learning supplement. It gets me to use Japanese and helps me in my classes (and when I was self-teaching myself, it made for an enjoyable way to learn to quickly recognize Hiragana/Katakana)
and
2. If I can afford it and understand most of it, why NOT get it? It's not a matter of "oh why should I wait?", but "why not?"

Oh and I'm not learning the language to ONLY understand anime/manga/pokemon, I'm learning it because I want to. While, yes anime and manga sparked the want to learn the language, I'm intending to go into translation, which obviously requires I know the language.

Oh, I can understand you having the games, but all these other people who can't read a word... it's like they thought that wouldn't be a problem...

*raises hand and waves* I'm one of those people!

It worked out fine at first, but not understanding got a bit boring after a while. And I got lost a lot at first.

That, and the game continuously crashes.

On that topic, I honestly hate watching videos of HGSS (or any JP game, most often Pokemon) with one of the following:

1. Button mashing through convos. This less-so because even I do it when I'm lazy/wouldn't read it in english anyways (ex: Professor's OP talk, Gym leaders)
2. English Nicknames. But only when it was nicknamed in-game, if it was traded over it's fine. Like, the stupid looking ones, the ones where they try to fit the english name in there or something. :| Meaningful english names are fine, my Japanese Buneary (I think she's a Lopbunny now) is called "Mimzy" (Originally ミムジ, but I didn't like the way it looked) cause it reminded me of the character/plushie from the movie. It's kinda hard to explain what sort of nicknames I mean, but I'm sure when you see one, you'd recognize it.
3. ENGLISH TRANSLATED ROM HACK. I HATE THIS SO MUCH OH MY GOD. Like seriously, if you're going to rom hack it to be in english, JUST WAIT GOD DAMN IT. D<

People who do number 3 are pretty much the ones I hate the most and the ones who should NOT be playing the games now.

I've bought other import games, though the fact is only Pokemon games are confirmed for/have been release/d here, so the rest I can understand a LITTLE about getting and not knowing the language. (The rest being iDOLMASTER SP, iDOLMASTER: Dearly Stars, Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, Taiko no Tatsujin DS, and Taiko no Tatsujin DS 2. iMAS will never leave Japan/Asia due to culture difference, PJD would be hard to market here, and TnT failed miserably here when they TRIED releasing it (fail setlist was fail).)

And hey, at least all my imports are LEGIT GAMES. Some people may call me stupid for it, but I've bought all of mine and have legit copies of all my games and imports.
