EDIT: Hey, maybe I'm late on this, but apparently shiny is now an official term according to the Pokemon.com website.

Gas prices? Our are really high.

And shiny is now an official term. Took some time, didn't it?

I have things to do. MAybe I should do them. I think I'll first send a mail to my teacher in which I'm asking things about tomorrows 8th grade basketball torunament (to which I'm a referee)

yay, finally wrote some fiction that ISN'T for NaNoWriMo. *points to sig* reeead~? =D I'll prolly go work on Chapter 2 later today if not today on thursday for sure (since I have finals on wednesday).

I'm really happy with the banner for it though. :3 Though a feel it's a bit empty by Kiley and Lillian, I like it. =D

lol I don't really like OC pokemon fanfiction that's entirely, well, OCs. I'll read if there's some canon in there, but if that's a whole different region... no thanks, man.

I refuse to write fanfiction, or any fiction for that matter, with characters that aren't my own. From what I have seen (not on here) fanfictions are notorious for taking many canon characters completely OOC. On top of that, they're not my character, and as such I don't get them inside and out. If I don't understand the character inside and out (which is IMO extremely difficult to do unless you've created them), I can't write the character properly.

Plus, in general it gives me a lot more breathing room for creativity. I don't have to worry about keeping characters to what people think of them, as these are my own and only I know them best.

I thought about writing a fanfic once. I had a story in my head that I really wanted to see on paper, but I'm just not a good enough writer to achieve the level of detail that I wanted it to have. That, and I want everything to make perfect physical sense.

It's difficult, but I do believe that's possible in the context of pokemon, even though there are a few things that I would need to fudge (ie, pokeballs, shooting flames, psychic abilities [even though those are actually real], etc.). But things like their society, what the Pokemon League actually is, and the fact that they send kids out at the age of 10 (something that would NOT happen in my story) are things that I was hoping to fully explain and actually have make sense. For example, my character never recieved a pokemon from a professor, he raised them as a hobby during middle school, and got good enough on the local circuit to join his high school pokemon team. His graduation is approaching, and he must make the extremely difficult decision to either go to college, or put it all on the line and take his chances as a professional trainer.

It would also have focused on the fact that I believe different pokemon would have to be caught and trained in different ways. For example, I wanted to start out the story with the main character being "stalked" by an Abra that shares a psychic connection with him. It would then continue with him finding a master who would then help him with the intricacies of training a psychic pokemon.

Ok, tl;dr rant over.

understandable! which is why I don't write anything anymore.
lol but I really don't have high standards, so I don't care unless the writer completely messes them up to the point where even an idiot like me can tell.

but I practically live on fanfiction and fandoms, so I can't have high expectations or I'll just be disappointed...

I meant "the thing that I had wanted to write had a bunch of Sues in it."

Sue = Mary Sue

Basically, it's a character device. One single character solves everyone's problems, has a high power level and can manage to do hard things in like three seconds.

tried not linking to that one site
