I mean, something other than going to a Chicago marathon and handing out water bottles and stuff like that. That's really all anybody under 18 can do that's "volunteer" work around here... And if there's something that I could get actual helpful experience, I still have to find it.

Well, first of all, I don't want to work at McDonalds, and fast food restaraunts are about all I'd be able to work at right now, and even then, I'd have a hard time competing for it.

Well, I think I'm getting Vince Fontain in Grease, mostly because I can talk fast and stuff like he can. And I can do it well.

Mcdonald's isn't horrible though IMO, and this is coming from someone who does work there and wants to quit. It's 7.25$ an hour (I've since gotten a, like, 10 cent raise lawlz), and they usually have you work 5 hour shifts. Get lucky and you'll only work 1-2 times a week, and on rare occasion three times, and it's a nice job. I usually worked register and it really isn't bad. The only bad part for me is that I have no fucking clue what is in ANYTHING because I don't eat McDonald's outside of the shakes and fries (because if they screw THAT up, something is horrendously wrong).

However, despite the job sucking, I have gotten a great thing out of it... besides money. I know how to get that perfect swirl with soft serve ice cream! \o/ (It's not easy! xD)

It's better than having no job at all

Bill Gates once said that your grandparents never scoffed at working fast food. They called it opportunity.

That was when $7 an hour was like, $20-$30 an hour. So Bill Gates is a fool.

Actually $7 was a lot more then $20-30 is now when your grandparents were growing up. My grandfather got fired from his first job for asking for a raise from 15 cents an hour. So quit bitching.

He got rehired though.. I forget the whole story.

I'm thinking when fast food was starting to get popular. My grandparents were born in the 50s and maybe late 40s, so... anyways, the point is, I don't want a job at a fast food place. If I absolutely have to, it'll probably be Arby's. The smell of the food would kill me though. D:

I would, but my friend said it sucks. He said that when he wasn't working his butt off with restocking and helping the idiots who can't find the meat section literally 10 feet to the left, then he has absolutely nothing to do. He says it's really boring.

Then don't bitch about not having a job. You clearly don't want one.

What, do you think you're too good to work at a supermarket or something? Do you think the world somehow owes you something, so your 0 experience ass doesn't have to work a shitty job that people who actually have experience don't want to work? Get off your high horse.
