Tomorrow is the last day, and I still have 7 pages to do! I scheduled to talk to my teacher on Friday so that I can have an extra day... tonight is going to be a late night... again. Yes- four days. When a literature teacher cannot draw and does not value visual art, they do not understand that it takes more then four days to create a true work of art.

I'll show the story later- remember it's a childrens book, and a rushed one at that!

I wish you the best of luck. Ugh, I HATE assignments like that...

On a side note, chastise me for my randomness and all around n00biness, but how the Hell do I add Stamps to my DA page? I'm a member of the Soul Fan Club, and I want to represent, but I have no clue how... The site's no help explaining either.

...Competitive TCG sounds complicated.

less complicated that competitive battling IMO. =3=

BUT ARGH. T___T God damn it why did KHDS have to end that way? (I won't say it here, since it's a big big spoiler) Final boss is a push over, like half of the game, which really disappointed me. And then I cried at the cutscene following the lame-ass fight. The game actually really sucked IMO, I had to force myself to play until it finally got interesting... aka: day 357. :| Not gonna lie, even around day 200-whatever it was still pretty lame and I was still pretty bored.

Buuut~ I'm gonna go write about it on my anime blog.

Also, ice cream. I'm starting to think IT is the main character. Really. Like, dude, Roxas, ice cream ain't that important.

I don't really think competitive battling is all that complicated. Anyone can really look up a few Smogon sets and jump on Shoddy. TCG seems like it takes a lot more dedication.

I see it as there's more options, and too many options overloads my brain. >_>

In the TCG there are only so many legal cards for the major tourneys (and even at that, there's only so many cards as a whole, many of which aren't pokemon anyways), each with specific moves and attacks, etc etc. I can easily build a deck based around strategies that the cards provide. I decide what makes up the deck, and can follow an archetype or not. You usually only have 1-3 major and important Pokémon lines, with a few extras thrown in for some things you may need off them (pokepowers/pokebodies). Most of the decks are built of trainers, at least good competitive ones are. Resources are available just as much as battling ones are, you just need to know where to look.

Battling, on the other hand, has too many variables for me. You have to pick your pokemon, their moves, how their EVs are spread, how you work with all six pokemon, etc. etc. Too many variables for me. Between picking the right pokemon, to picking the right moves, to setting their EVs up 'just right', it's too much for me to do.

I understand the basics of a good deck more so than a good team. I understand how to build a good deck, how to run my decks, and in general I understand the TCG battling better than I do the game's. While I've played the games more consistently, I've never touched competitive because it's just too much extra work for me. I already understand the TCG well enough to be able to skim a few articles and understand what to do. Skimming things on competitive game battling? It all flies right over my head.

I can build a decent in-game team, sure, but take that to competitive? Yeah say hello to a straight on loss. I don't care for status inflicting moves in-game, and as such see no value in them, likely one of the reasons I will never touch competitive battling.

If you look at it in a big picture sort of way, you're right, it can seem overwhelming. It's really pretty simple though once you start to look at it in smaller pieces.

For example, say you want to put a physical sweeper on your team. Right away, your choices of what pokemon to use, what EV spreads to use and what moves to teach have been greatly limited. Your pokemon will be one with a high attack and speed, or one that can boost these stats, your EV spread will focus on attack and speed, and your moves will be the most powerful you can find to get you the most coverage.

Say for example you choose Salamence (cliche, but whatever). I think the most popular set for him is Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Fire Blast and Outrage, with EV's in speed, attack and some in special attack. You have many options with someone like Salamence, but it just depends on what you want to accomplish with him. Either way, you need someone that can switch in on an ice move, which again limits your options.

I guess strategy can get pretty complex, but for the most part competitive battling is pretty simple. It's basically just finding what jobs you need to be done and matching a pokemon to them.

I can build a decent in-game team, sure, but take that to competitive? Yeah say hello to a straight on loss. I don't care for status inflicting moves in-game, and as such see no value in them, likely one of the reasons I will never touch competitive battling.

Which is completely understandable, because boosting and status moves are essentially worthless in game because you can just level up, or use in-battle items.

The issue with comp battling is that it's pretty stacked against you. If you're truly playing competitively, you can't just use your favorites. You have to follow the rules, which frankly isn't my style. I'm a follower of the Karen Philosophy:

"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites.

Hence why I use Houndoom and Espeon.

Done with KHDS. I'm so sick of the stupid game, and it was a major disappointment. SE had better do BbS better, not this crappy story that 358/2 got. It explained crap I didn't care about and bored me to death. I cried at the end, but argh. I had to kill the ONE CHARACTER I like. THE ONLY CHARACTER.

The game actually made me hate Roxas and Axel, since the fantards hadn't done it yet. >_>

I just want my Sora Equivalent x Kairi Equivalent... D: Why was there so little Roxas x Xion. >| SE stop catering to the morons shipping Roxas with Axel and Sora with Riku. They don't need canon reasons to support that crap. KHII crushed my dreams of seeing something come of Sora x Kairi, so if they're going to keep abusing the Sora-Kairi-Riku formula, I want my Sora Equivalent x Kairi Equivalent! D< I'm a girl who likes yuri, shipping a hetero couple! Come on SE! D> KHI was SO Sora x Kairi, WHY DID YOU DROP THAT?

Honestly, the only way I'll like Ventus (Because all I see him as is "fuck, not more Roxas") is if he gives me what I want. Sora Equivalent x Kairi Equivalent. Which in this case is clearly Ventus x Aqua, since whatever-that-third-dude's-name-is has to be the Riku Equivalent.

I swear, if they do more canon tip offs to Sora Equivalent x Riku Equivalent, I'll... do something. >| KHII clearly had a pile of Sora x Riku (ass grab, Sora baawing like an idiot), and KHDS goes like this:

Axel: "YEHYAH, BEST BUDDEHS!"
Roxas: "YEEEAH, BEST BUDDEHS~ ♥"
Xion: "Was I supposed to be the love interest, or the third wheel? :/" (Or the plot point, one role which I think she barely filled)

I guess it's a good thing I never got into Kingdom Hearts.

If you became one of the raging Sora x Riku, Sora x Roxas, or Roxas x Axel fans, you'd be happy. I, however, am, despite being a major yuri fangirl, a supporter of Sora x Kairi. Which was GREAT back in KHI, it definitely leaned strongly to that side. However, Chain of Memories, Naminé annoyed me with her replacing Kairi in Sora's memories (which, when I think about it, isn't horribad, since she's Kairi's nobody)... and then comes KHII. Where many things start to suck. All of a sudden the game goes straight to Sora x Riku, pleasing the morons whom I want to punch or hope someone does so for me. And KHDS only does the same crap, thanks to even more lines like Axel's "I would miss you" to Roxas in KHII. >| Axel being the clear Riku Equivalent, and Roxas is obviously the Sora Equivalent.

Kairi and Xion became third wheels after KHII and it sucks for those of us who want a couple which was supported in the original story. D< I just hope to god that Aqua doesn't became a third wheel too because of... *looks up the dude's name* ... Terra.

... dude wtf, that sounds like a girl's name.

I don't even care if SE keeps reusing the same character formula, I just want some Sora x Kairi, even if it's in their Nobody Equivalents or in the 10-years-ago-apprentice equivalents. >|

edit: anyways, it's 3am, I'm going to bed now.

And it's Christmas-holiday for me!

And it's freezing outside. Biking wasn't comfortable, especially when you add the risk of falling and breaking bones in x number of limbs. However, the roads are dry, and only some areas are really icy, and I tend to avoid those.

Hm. Looking at my textbook list for next semester. I need the second Genki series for Japanese 102 as well as Genki 1? Huh. I know I'll get Genki 2 anyways, since I'm going to go as far as I can with Japanese, but still. Huh. For my computer-related math class, I might be jumping to conclusions but "JT'S CONVERSAT.ON TRUE BASIC-W/FLASH DR" makes it seem like I'll be getting Flash... And I don't think they just mean the stuff to load flash, but to make flash stuff... oooh~ ♥

And while my East Asian Religions course has a piiile of books it needs, they're all on the inexpensive side. :3 Astronomy Part 2 on the other hand... >_> *looks at a 90$ list price, and 70$ as a used book* At least I have some of the books already (expos, and Genki 1 for Japanese), and I'll be selling back the books I don't need, Read; Algebra books (which, funny, I barely used the entire semester).

I think FLASH DR means you need a flash drive

Hm, you're prolly right. Not like I need one though. >_> *has two*

Which, on a barely related note, I named Rin and Len after the Vocaloids. のヮの And my laptop's name is Miku-tan. *dork*

I gotta either send a text or e-mail or just wait till friday or something to tell my parents I have the list and that I can sell books back whenever. Since my dad was thinking of stopping to get a hoodie or something as a last-minute gift for my grandpa, I could bring my algebra book or something and sell it back then. I don't feel like getting up and walking over to the bookstore today. It's prolly still cold, so I think I'll stay in my nice warm dorm room.

edit: called home, dad said on monday since he's driving me back for my Japanese final we can make the run to sell my books back. Yay I don't have to go out into the cold.
