Budget is more important than number of gifts IMO. :p My mom made a fuss about the sort of thing in past years because I'd have some expensive gift (Tablet, PSP, etc.), and my sister wouldn't have an equivalent. Sister would be getting 5-8 presents for my 3-5. :p

Oddly enough this year my sister was the one with the big super expensive gift. Granted that does affect my amount of stuff from my parents, but usually I'm the one with something big. Granted I had a DS Lite on my list (and I did see it in the closet lol), but it's not really as big compared to my sister's expensive camera she wants.

But my list was also pretty small. :p Split that between my parents and grandpa (Dad's side, who's limit is whoa-my-gawd huge), and I'm getting everything on my list... >_>; It's only 7 things though.

I'm getting money for kendo bogu that I bought 4 months ago. My sister insisted on getting me something, so I told her to get me a shinai.

I'm currently doing the Christmas event on my Animal crossing let's go to the city :D

I also really need to find someone from America and someone from Japan sometime to trade regional exclusive items with by the way.

everything > DSi

except the PSP Go. That thing's just as stupid.

More in progress screencaps of my drawing.

Fixed the tree a little in the BG. Just have to shade Miku. Then I'll take a break before trying to color the BG.

DSi XL is the most pointless update ever. You'd have to have clown pockets to carry that thing around.

WOT?! What's so bad about it? I have one and I love it to death.

It can't be that bad. Although I wouldn't know, as all those mo-foing sites always mention the size in inches

But it is. I've heard it has the best graphics out of all its predecessors, but there's no way it's portable.

(whoa look at the time this was posted. Lucky number 3s! (in CST anyway)

first off, It's partially region protected. At LEAST one of my games will NOT run on a non-Japanese DSi. I am an importer, thus that turns me off. Any "DSi enhanced" game will never work on any DSi that isn't from the same country, but Original DS and DS Lites will still both run the game, no matter where they were bought.

((Edit: and on the note of "DSi enhanced" games comes my MAJOR HATE on the "DSi Only" games. I believe it CANNOT be a DS if games can be made specially for it and not work with the previous two incarnations))

On top of that, they removed the GBA slot. I see that as a incredibly stupid move. If I'm going to upgrade from my original DS, I want something that doesn't make my GBA games have to be played on another system.

As for what they added, I find no use in it. The camera is crap, why would I need something like that anyways? Every cell phone these days has one, and we all know how inseparable people are from those these days, so why would you want to take photos with your DS? And if you want pictures that look better than a phone's in quality, bring a REAL camera. As for the store, I don't buy DLC for anything but [email protected], not to mention I dislike download-only games (this is why I dislike the PSP Go).

The ONLY thing it might have had going for me was the fact it would work with my home wi-fi without needing the protection dropped. However, the fact it doesn't work if the GAME isn't compatible with anything newer than WEP on top of the fact most of the time I'll now be at college where the problem is logging in, not the protection, renders it void.

I HATE the DSi with a passion. I don't see it as an upgrade, but a MAJOR downgrade from even an original DS. It's not base-less hate either, I have my reasons and they DO makes sense.

. . . *goes back to drawing*

That does suck, yes. But I'm not an importer, so it's not a problem for me.

I can tolerate playing GBA games on a seperate handheld, personally.

The DSi Camera is a lot better than most cell phone cameras, and I don't even own a real camera. The DSi Shop has some great games that are worth your time, and the most expensive one is only 1000 points ($10). But the worth of the shop's games a matter of opinion.

a MAJOR downgrade from even an original DS.

a downgrade from the original? IMO, that's not even possible. :|

In regards to the current topic about a Nintendo DS, I'm either getting a DS Lite or a used Gameboy Advance SP. I like backwards compatibility [that and I'm getting the itch].
