Good for you!

But yes, all in all, that is the main reason vegetarians / vegans exist.
Perhaps some people don't agree with it (eg. animals are below us or we were made to do what we wish), but still, it's all opinions in the end.
Not even this, most of the time.
People decide to become vegetarians for a reason:
Because they believe killing animals is wrong. Basically, we've just killed an animal that could live for years to come to satisfy a human life for around 3 days.
People see this, and they become a vegetarian.
Damnit, I feel like becoming a vegetarian now D:
I'm a vegetarian for two reasons- a. I find meat positively repulsive- both aesthetically and you are EATING. WHAT. WAS. ONCE. LIVING. FLESH. and b. I don't believe that the mass-market meat industry is in any way humane and I don't want to contribute to it. People cry over starving puppies at the same time millions of cows are simply fed in and dismembered.
/veggie rant
Oh...God....veal...just horrid, what they do...Not me. I felt this way when I was four. So, along with my parents, became a vegetarian. And if you know me you know I'm very persistent. So now, ten years later, basically if I eat any meat now I'll puke violently.
The reason I gave up fish was to show off because Missingno. thought I couldn't.
Today, it really doesn't offend me in any way if you eat meat in front of me or anything. I think it would take slaughtering a cow right in front of me to have any serious effect xD;
However, there are things ABOUT animal slaughter that I find morally wrong. But not so much that if I did eat meat suddenly I would stop.
But God, don't even get me started on veal...
Shall I present the details, or do you want to?
I don't want to nauseate anyone but THEY ALL MUST KNOW THE TRUTH! *foams at mouth*
You know, this is what I had to write an essay on this past semester. The whole "Is eating meat a bad thing?" I was probably the only one who said no. To summarize my essay, everyone is all "THEY TORTURE THEIR ANIMAAAALS. BAAAAAAWWW", the thing is that people don't want to hear about humane slaughter houses, but they want something to BAW about, so the news delivers. During the discussion everyone was like "Oh it's more prevalent than you think if you do the research", yeah what research did YOU do? Check the internet? Like that's a 100% reliable source. Unless you're the one going out there seeing how slaughter houses treat their animals, you can't say anything about how prevalent it is or not. For most people, meat is PART OF OUR DIET. Taking it out and not compensating for it (which we all know is what people think becoming vegetarian is) is bad.
I really really disliked how those classmates were like "Oh it's hurting us so much, eating meat". No. It's not. It's part of a human's diet. Check the teeth. If you want to lessen the amount of animals killed or whatever, go for it. But people giving the whole "oh they tortuuurrrre their animaaaals baaaaaw" thing should be slapped. >T
BTW if you're going to say the old "veal is made out of cows kept in a little cage and not fed much", please get YOUR facts straight. That's just as bad as the "KFC beats their chickens". >T

I'm with Nya on that meat issue, but w/e...
I'd just get people on my case if I said anything more.

I probably could anyways, you wouldn't believe how antagonizing topics like this are even for someone who ISN'T vegetarian because of morality @_@
