Oh yeah, that makes a little more sense since it's not a traditional school. A couple of times my teachers have come in near the end of a period and said "sorry, I forgot I had a class today!"

Haha, the same used to happen to our high school as well sometimes xD Though usually we'd just get the teacher if he didn't show up after like 10 minutes.

Actually, it still happens, a professor came 20 minutes late to a lecture last week with this excuse :p

It's another beautiful morning, Bulbargarden! Wake up, hump the street lamp, and be on your way.

Ah, I didn't see Zelda.

I have WW, but I never beat it. Could never get myself to sail around looking for all of the triforce.

Oh, another hater. ;;

I never beat it either, actually, because it was a rental. An awesome rental, at that.

I think the rule at Penn State was an instructor that wasn't a professor had 10 minutes after class starts before we get to go home, and a professor got 15 minutes. This has only happened to me once, and that was when my professor went down to Texas on business for a week and didn't tell the class. I still waited like a half hour before going home.

@AvarusCantus Oh, that's a relief.

I admit I never actually finished that part cause I had to return it, so I don't know how bad it is. xD

Lectures aren't mandatory at my university, so leaving just because the professor is a little late is kinda stupid; If you didn't want to follow the lecture you just shouldn't have come in the first place.

Same at mine, but the idea was not really that you "get to go home," but that "class is canceled."

Ah, in that way. You're kinda getting screwed over if that was your only class then though.

Yeah true.

It was also just official university policy, and the students and professors aren't robots so there could be some leeway, which is why I stayed for a half hour when my professor was gone. He could have just as easily walked in late and said "I'm still teaching and what I teach today will be on the final."

Attendance doesn't count toward your marks? Here most lectures have attendance counting toward marks by at least 5%, and being late twice counts as being absent once. Plus there's that being absent for a fourth of the total lecture time (by hours) means an automatic F. -_-;

Some classes counted attendance, depending on the prof. Usually they didn't. You could just get someone to turn in all your homework for you and show up to all the exams and you'd be good.

Some professors wouldn't mind if you missed a class or two and won't let those absences affect the grade. But after a certain number (usually up to twice was allowed), they'd start taking points off. It differed from professor to professor for sure, but in the end, most had attendance take up a certain proportion of the mark.
