Yeah, not many Subways over here. Not that I care. I could like a cookie though

So planning to rewrite the code for my main battle engine in my own pokémon game to make it better. I was thinking adding status, crits, PP, accuracy and perhaps a bag for items. Anything else that's within reach?

It's nothing seriously, obviously, but it's a little pet project I have. To put it bluntly, this is not something that could be sold, nor really distributed for that matter. It's just me practicing coding.

Well, for practical issues, no Special Defense (just Special), but still physical/special split. I wonder why I chose this, but I think I'll just implement it since I'll just rewrite the whole thing anyways, and any bad references is cleared out. I've done minor changes to type effectiveness, but for the most part, it's identical. One of the biggest changes is that you can only have three pokémon. That is expandable as well (honestly, it would be easier to implement than Sp. Def in my current build), but when you have such a limited selection, it doesn't really matter, using three "pokémon" as test (generated at pokémon fusion). STAB is in the game, as well as switching pokémon, and you can run from battles.

Pokémon can be caught (no pokéballs, just a catch function though), algoritms have been modified, like catch rate and exp yield to name two, but they're based on the found on Bulba. Pokémon can level up and learn new moves, you can open a menu to switch around on moves and display info. The game is basic ASCII, nothing fancy on that side (except the sprites), and I have only one map. Not a big deal, since I don't have a save/load function yet, something better suited for implementing later on anyways.

That's about it, I think.

Matlab. It was kinda like a IT-intro course last semester, and we use it in physics for the most part. Most people hate it, and I can agree it's not a great programming language, but I like the challenge.
