Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She started to circle the stone structure. “Maybe there's some out-of-the-way method of getting up there...Ah! Here we are!” She'd spotted some hand-holds on the opposite side. She grabbed one and started to climb.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
“I dunno. Maybe they were wanting to guard their treasure well, and with good reason.” To her puzzlement, the hand-holds stopped halfway up. She looked around, and spotted another set of hand-holds behind them.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
“Look out, Lucas.” She lept to the handholds behind them, grabbing two, but struggling to find a foothold. She finally resorted to climbing up bit before placing a foot on a brick, which the handholds were made from.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
He used a different approach, letting go of the first set of footholds with his right hand and foot, and latching on to the ones opposite, then swinging himself around so he was fully re-engaged with the wall.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She climbed up a little further, before noticing she was level with the top of the stone structure. She lept and grabbed onto the edge of the structure, before pulling herself up.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She smiled. “Sure thing.” She climbed up, and entered the next room. This room had an apartment-style set of stairs, leading down to a small, dark room with a door next to a unlit metal torch, which Jade guessed led back to ground level. This room also had two paintings in it; one on the wall where the first flight of stairs stopped, portraying some sort of ghost; and another one, blank, overlooking the second flight. Whenever the one with the ghost was approached, it disappeared and reappeared in the blank one, with an evil laugh. “That's... creepy.”
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She got out her bō, and swiftly stabbed it through the painting. The ghost disappeared from the damaged painting, and reappeared back in its original place, again cackling evilly.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
Undaunted, she repeated her procedure with the other painting. The ghost disappeared with a scream, and the torch near the door sputtered to life, with a pure red flame. If I'm right, that'd expose anyone in sight from the stairs, she thought.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
Downstairs, the room was empty, save for a protruding edge of something invading into the light from the corner where the torch couldn't quite reach. Somebody was there, certainly.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
What was there wasn't what she had been expecting. This closer inspection would reveal the person in the corner was, in fact, Lucas, bound and gagged. He looked relieved to see Jade, but slightly confused as he caught sight of the other Lucas.
