Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
“You'd be surprised how useful a grappling hook can be.” She fed the end of the rope through one of the belt loops of her clamdiggers, so it hung at the side of her hip. “Alright, let's go.”
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She walked out the door. Her guess from before was right, as they were back at the bottom of the stone structure. She walked over the bridge, and headed towards the door that led back to the main room of the temple.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
She looked down into the hole where the elevator used to be. “Well. Rouge wasn't lying about the rubble down there.” She turned her gaze to Lucas. “Think we could go down there to take a look around?”
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
“Yeah. If what he said was true, nothing good lies beyond that door.” She looked up, and spotted a wooden log hanging horizontally overhead. “And I think I know just the way to get across.”
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
“Hey, I told you a grappling hook could come in handy.” She removed it from her clamdiggers, and swung it vertically, before throwing it at the hanging log. It swiftly wrapped itself around the log. Jade tugged on the rope, to make sure it would hold her weight, before swinging across, and tossing the rope back to Lucas.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
Jade took the rope, and gave a tug, so the grappling hook unfurled from the log. She looped it back up, and held it in her hand as she approached the door, which opened by itself. Not feeling so confident herself, she entered the room.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
He was tempted to hang back and wait for the door to shut, then enter fashionably late, once whatever was going to happen had happened, but that posed the risk of waiting a very long, boring time.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
The room was rectangular in shape; half of it was flooded with suspiciously purple water, the other half had four wooden pegs sticking out of the ground.
Re: EEA: The Jaded Journey *Me (That Guy) and Alex64*
"I should...probably...get of your way, yeah?" Lucas said, stepping back toward the door, second-guessing what might lurk in the water and how Jade might subsequently react.
