Buzzing. That's what he heard as he was starting to lie down to take an afternoon nap. Slowly turning around, he began to search for its source. Seeing none, he looked outside. Could it be the faint hum of his neighbors mowing their lawn? Suddenly, the buzzing came from behind again. Alright, he thought, what IS that sound? Going a bit quicker now, he searched the entire house in hopes of finding some answers. Having found none, he was certain that the sound had just been in his imagination. Thus, he decided to get back to his nap and relax.

As he was starting to drift off, he saw a little black speck on his nose. What's this, he thought? Before he got to touch it, it vanished, leaving a buzzing sound as it passed. He scurried to the kitchen, trying to find a glass of some sort to catch it in. Finding one, he went back into the other room. Now, where was that buzzing black menace? After five minutes of searching in vain, he decided to sit back down.

Then, he heard it again. The buzzing. The evil, torturing buzzing. That’s it! He was getting tired of the taunting buzz that kept piercing his eardrums, holding him back from his well deserved sleep. Luckily, he had kept his eyes trained on the flying thing the whole time. He charged at it, and as he was slamming the glass on top of it, trapping it inside, it shattered. Fool! Why would he try something so stupid as to charge something with glass? Slightly shaken but not hurt, he cleaned up the glass.

He then proceeded to catching it with a plastic bottle.. It kept it inside, but as he was trying to get the cap on, it flew right out. He then proceeded to swat it with his pillow. Another failed attempt. Running out of ideas, he decided to catch it between his two hands, crushing it as they collided. Yet again, he failed. How hard was it to kill a little black speck? His motivation was starting to fade. As he was starting to lie down yet again to what would surely become another buzzing episode, he had an idea. If I can’t kill it, how about removing it?

And so, he walked outside, leaving the door open. He lied down in his porch’s hammock, and waited. Sure enough, the flying speck came out and buzzed in his ear. He then toppled out, regained his balance, and sprinted back inside, slamming the door shut as he went. Starting with that afternoon, he proceeded to have peaceful naps, although that speck did seem to come back and haunt him once every year.

Kind of amusing, and a good length for what you're trying to do, I reckon. There's something about flies that tempts us to smash them, the foolish creatures, and you do a good job of capturing that.
