I really wonder if the writers ever plan to pass the torch on. It's only a matter of time before he get's get's to the Elite 4, and wins. What the hel would the do with him then?

On to the League, I'm starting to think Ash will get Top 4 this time around instead of the finals. Dunno why, but we'll see.

I'm thinking the same thing here I'm thinking one step at a time. I wonder if the legendary's trainer that Ash probably loses to will end up being champion.

Well if that happens then he wouldn't be able to face all his rivals. But hey just throw in a Paul vs Barry match and the problems solved

Tyson won the Hoenn league, so it'll be no different unless Ash is in the finals with him.

Couldn't they also do that with Dawn

It's called, let's make room for a new character we have in mind to take Dawn's place

That's why Brock gets a new dream, his ticket out of the show. Why they made Dawn a critical part of the main cast (through promotions, and emphasis on making her to be similar to Ash). Just put 2 and 2 together.

2+2 =/= Magikarp. Brock has nothing to do with Dawn's departure. They could get rid of both of them. Heck they could just get rid of Dawn for all we know. But I'm hoping for the both of them. P.S. They've only had a few vague similarities. Nothing HUGE. If you think similarities should be the reason to go on next generation... let's have Angie be the BW girl *rolls eyes*.

The fact is Brock hasnt been confirmed to be getting the boot. For all we know this new dream of his could keep him on the show. Besides the new character will probably be one of the important characters instead of a sidekick like Brock is. Unless they come up with 3 goals then the new character would have to take either Ash or Dawn's place on the cast and since Ash and Pikachu are basically the face of pokemon Dawn's the more likely choice

They are leaks, they provide you with enough information for you to realize something. They wouldn't be mentioning Brock, the least important character of the cast, for no other reason besides him being noticeably not present in the next series.

Have any of these "leaks" informed you that Brock won't be in the BW anime or is that just your interpretation of where the plot is going?

You see Brock is really creepy. You think he's finally gone for good then all of sudden he's back again and you have no idea how or why he is

Yeah, Brock is more stale than Team Rocket. He needs the boot really badly. Dawn doesn't need the boot because I think she needs proper closure when it comes to beating Zoey but not if it means being a main character in the next generation.

Dawn would get incredibly stale if she stayed for another 200 eps. Its best if characters leave in their prime than wind up like Brock.

Brock has no actual goal besides being Ash and Co's butler.

Dawn, like Ash, has a personality and ambition that drives her storyline. It's dishonest to compare her and Brock in that manner.

Hey! I'm being dishonest! I'm comparing Dawn to Ash! Even though she may leave and I think she won't because I'm in denial!

What happned to the "The general Pokemon League / end of Sinnoh / Generation V thread" I'm sorry, I thought this was it, I'll just go now...

I hope Ash loses to the legendary trainer, not beat the guy then lsoe to Paul. As I've said, I don't want a Dawn and Zoey repeat even if Paul's rivalry was different... I'm also hoping Saikou Everyday wasn't actually a spoiler...

Brock's goal and ambition is to be the world's greatest breeder. However the reason he's stale is because the ambition he has is not competitive and he has no long-standing rivals. Can you imagine if Dawn were to become permanent she would become just like this.

So the whole "contest girl" thing would have gotten stale 5 years ago.

Contests were made to attract the more female audience into the show's marketing. They weren't made to make a permanent character. 7 years ago, no one, not even the writers, knew Dawn would exsist.

Contests would have gotten incredibly stale if it was the same girl generation after generation. But thankfully these past two generations have been two different coordinators with different styles making them fun to watch because it didn't get stale because it was a different character. Dawn's style is cuteness and beauty and I don't think the writers would have another generation of that kind of style. May's was sort of coolness and beauty and they overlapped. The writers could try something different if they continue with contests and give the next coordinator a cool, tough style. There are so many ways it doesn't have to get stale.

They gave us a decade plus of Ash's style of training. I don't think it would be any different for Dawn. They can always keep it fresh in different ways.
