I think the length of the next saga will depend on how big the region is, how much time til the next gen games, and everything that's in the region. I wouldn't want them to shorten the region just for another arc if that meant skipping a lot of important things or half-assing some stuff.

Every gap is probably going to be 4 years. They could have easily saved the BW games for the next handheld, but considering they released them on the DS it proves only a 4-year gap will likely happen.

I still don't see why the saga can't be three years + 1 filler arc like they did in AG.

The problem with this structure is Ash's Pokemon and the female character only get one region, whereas May and Ash's Hoenn Pokemon got practically two.

I actually prefer that way too, but if the region is large like Sinnoh is, why would they just rush through it? That might be why DP was only one region, because Sinnoh is the largest region of the ones we know of so far.

Isshu could be smaller, as large, or larger. If it is around Hoenn's size, then they probably could have a two regions in one saga, such as the case with AG.

I just don't think it would be a good idea to speed through it when and if the region has a lot to offer. It is a new area, there will be new concepts brought into the anime that we probably haven't seen in a previous region. Honestly, we don't have to go to another region, seeing as it's already been traveled through before. And after seeing the Kanto BF arc, the writers probably won't bother with old characters so there's essentially no point to it.

But I do like the idea of two regions in one saga, although it's not really necessary if you look at it.

I was browsing for stuff on youtube and I found to my surprise the original preview for the final AG ep and the first ep of DP, courtesy the crew of Pokemon Sunday. I had completely forgotten they did that, and it makes me wonder if we will get sneak peeks of BW beforehand from them, too. If you're wondering, they did not show much, just Professor Rowan's Lab and him giving Dawn her starter (although it does not show what it was, although we probably already knew by then). It showed the three starters in action, which were from Dawn's fantasy before she went to get a starter. It shall be neat to see all that play out again.

It is most likely that they will show sneak peeks of BW and the first 2 episodes might be a one hour special, like DP

From the DP182 thread...

I can't see it, because Ash has a lot of other reserves there too, and Ash's Sinnoh team will likely get all of Barry and Paul.

If we go by the formula of the Hoenn League...

Prelims:

3-on-3: Pikachu/Quilava/Bayleef
Double battle: Toto/Gible

Ash v Conway:

Muk, Staraptor, Totodile, Torterra, Torkoal, and Gible(/Gliscor), with Staraptor and Totodile getting the most focus, Staraptor delivering the final blow.

Ash v Nando:

Buizel, Quilava, Glalie, Donphan, Pikachu, Noctowl. with Buizel and Quilava getting the most focus, Buizel ends the battle with Ice Aqua jet against Roserade.

Ash v Barry:

Infernape, Bayleef, Gible, Corphish, Staraptor(/Gliscor) and Snorlax, with Gible and Bayleef getting the most focus and Gible defeating Empoleon.

Ash v Paul:

Pikachu, Infernape, Torterra, Staraptor, Buizel and Gible, with the latter not defeating any pokémon, Buizel, Staraptor, Torterra and Pikachu each defeating one and Infernape defeating 2

Ash v legendary:

3-4 Sinnoh/2-3 Johto; My Guess... Pikachu, Buizel, Infernape, Bayleed, Gible and Noctowl/Donphan

In all battle, the pokémon from Ash's current Sinnoh team are the ones delivering the final blow (meaning no repeat of the Johto League where the Johto pokes got shafter)

The less the Johto starters appear in the league, the better.

They will appear and you know that deep down, you'll enjoy it.

This one is a bit off-league but anyway, can anyone confirm if this is official or just fake? Personally I think its fake but who knows right...

Personally I think this is fake too. Although if it wasn't posted on April 1st we'd be screwed because Pikachu is virtually irreplaceable.

Anyway with the league I would really love to see Ash's Snorlax go up against Barry's Snorlax even though its gonna probably Barry vs. Paul in the Top 16. I see Conway being the first rival to go down in the Top 32. Then I see an even better battle from Ash vs. Nando in the Top 16. Then for the Quarterfinals it will be Ash vs. Paul and finally Ash vs. Legendary-son to lose but make it to the Top 4 and improving upon his last two standings.

Yes I KNOW it was April's fools but official confirmation is a good thing. And yes I thought it was a fake too but just to be sure...

I kinda hope Ash makes it to the finals. Using a Legendary seems like something someone would save as a seceret weapon for a very important match, so I hope Ash get's further than Top 4. But if he doesn't Top 4 is fine, just as long as it's not Top 8 again.

What if Paul is the legendary user? He's been to all 4 regions. It's possible he caught a minor legendary along the way.

He's not. If he was the Legendary trainer then Ash winning the Sinnoh League is pretty much in the bag.

You know what would be really interesting is that the legendary user was going to save it for the final match but knows all about Ash's conquest and brings it out earlier to deal with him because he thinks he might lose otherwise. And they delve into that somewhat.

Another thing I wanted to say was how would the episode structure be carried out during the league? I was thinking that every two 6-on-6 battles would get three episodes in order to give them enough time to be good. What do you guys think?
