If it is whatever the next girl does, if Misty doesn't return, needs to involve battling.

I'm pretty sure if contests only had appeals, they wouldn't be so popular.

Wouldnt we all like that?Ok not all,but many people would.Bringing Misty back would be great, and one of benefits is her being trainer not coordinator which means bringing something new(lot of things were unexplored regarding her).

But no mater what happens,in my opinion next girl should do something else instead of contests.Getting third one in a row doing them is abit too much and pointless when we have Dawn to do them. Many people are with girl switching being stopped, being more for focus on previous ones and i can understand why.

Next girl could be a trainer, doing pokethlon or even being rival for a change.

If Dawn does ultimately leave, I wonder if they're really gonna have Ash as the youngest in the group? I still don't see them simply de-aging the new girl.

And because of age thing,i have doubts about new girl even joining main cast.If i were to ask i would have her be his rival. Now that Ash received good rival in DP in form of Paul,he should get female one too.

Regarding Brock,i will find it hilarious if he comesback for 5th generation, fooling everyone with his "apparent leaving".

2.The writers don't care about fans want, otherwise Misty and May would be here right now and Brock would leave

Agreed,i mean Misty fans are trying to get her back for 8 years with dozen of petituions and huge demand, but that didnt poluted any result. For years people want that Brock leaves, but he shocks them with every new saga coming back, contrary to some belief his coming back after OI had nohing to do with fans as its been explained in mr.Hidaka interview.

Just like how in Johto and BF the writers made up for their mistakes with the boring Kanto starters... yeah

I didnt finded them boring at all.I enjoyed in Charmander and his evolution into Charizard which had disobediance problems,i liked Squirtle and Bulbasaur too which brougt many good things for this show.

I see them de-aging the new girl or aging Ash.

I can see them doing the latter. If they even de-age the new girl by one week, I'm going to kill the writers. But even if they chose to age Ash, it seems highly unlikely.

They aren't going to make Ash the youngest in the group again. I can see them keeping Dawn so Ash won't have to be the youngest and so they can still do contests.

And I can see them adding Black and replacing Brock. Black can be the person to take care of the group like Brock did. He can even take on BW's new side quest and promote genV.

White on the other hand, I can see her being Ash's rival if they decide not to use BW's rival. If they do use White as his rival, I hope she appears a lot more than Paul. She's awesome.

Please tell me you are not suggesting something like, "Jump over the hurdle and use Flamethrower pokabu" ?

If that happened, it would be complete and utter FAIL. But I agree with Gliscor'd, the new quest would involve battling because it is Pokemon after all.

I would just lol if Jasmine came to Ash and said, "Oh by the way, Kurt told me there's a Celebi in there. kthxbye"

lol

Not having to go through something like how Dawn lost in appeals for like 2 or 3 contests would be grand, even if she isn't doing contests. Having someone who can win and be mature and whatnot would be completely lovely.

But Dawn's deppression isn't something you'd expect on Pokemon. It was interesting and good for character developement. I hope they use something like that in BW to give it something more mature.

Yeah, I don't see the whole de-aging or aging Ash option, in reality it would be nice to see Ash a few years older, but given who the show's target audience is I doubt they will ever make him older then 10. And like pokefan38 said, I don't see Ash ever being the youngest in the group again. I only see two options, they create a anime only character to balance the ages out, or they keep Dawn and add Black to replace Brock on the maincast.

If they were to replace Brock then Dawn's screentime will have to be cut significantly from what it is at present in order to cater for the new character's goals and development. Personally, I don't think that the writer's can do justice to 3 big goals that each require a lot of screentime.

I wouldn't mind the writer's reducing the contests to the odd passing moment in the anime, like if the group arrive at a city where there is a large gathering for the contest, then I wouldn't mind them watching once in a while. They could also watch highlights of the event on the TV during a stay at the Pokemon Centre.

Alternatively, they can do it during Jessie's screentime.

I'm all for aging Ash a little, at least in height.

For all we know, there might not even be a new sidequest. Hell, contests may even return in BW, we will just have to wait and see.

If that were the case then there would be no need to keep Dawn as well as having the new character, unless you are suggesting scrapping the new character or having two coordinators in the group. If the latter were the case then we would have a disproportionate amount of screentime on a sidequest over the main game objective of battling. I'd say this is highly unlikely.

If they keep contest in BW, then I don't see them dropping Dawn. The new protagonists are a bit older, and cartoons tend to like to keep the heroes around the same age. But if contests are scrapped, I can see them bringing in White and her new quest, along with adding another anime only character to balance things out. I really don't see them doing 3 coordinators in a row, it is overkill.

We will just have to wait and see though....

Why not ? Is it hurting the show in any way ? I mean, why are you complaining ?

Flint is the E4 who appears the most in the games too...

Its almost like the writers are saying, "Yeah let's tease the fans about an Elite 4 arc, but when time comes to shove, we won't give them one!"

Or maybe the fans jumped the gun about the Elite 4 arc thing... which we've been saying... for the past months...

Anyway, I wonder if Flint is only gonna stay for the Jasmine episode or if he's also gonna appear in the Buck episode and the League.

Then everything the writers promised us in DP was a lie. Ash deserves to lose the league if he doesn't use his Kanto/Hoenn teams anyway.

How is that a lie? Maybe, you just had your hopes up for something that they gave no indication of doing.

Where are Piplup's wall of texts when you need them ? *sighs*

The writers didn't promise us anything, they introduced the Elite 4 and yet consistently showed that Ash wasn't anywhere near their level. Ash'll learn from these battles and get a better placement in the League than he got with his Hoenn team or Kanto team when he used them...

I actually like seeing a lot of Oba. It is nice to have a character tag along for a while.
It is hillariously ironic that he looks like Ronald McDonald and the company logo used to be in the list of sponsers during previews.
