If it's just Ash, B/W girl, and Brock next season.........ugh.

I kinda wanna see a fourth character involved like Max was. Heck, tbh, I think it would be sorta cool to have Max back. If there are ever 3rd gen remakes it would be a nice nod to have a 3rd gen character back. And it's not like we need May around since May already stated she wants to travel solo. Maybe it could be Max's turn to finally go off as a trainer and he meets up with Ash? And if the writers are going to be consistent with age and actually acknowledge it, they might want a younger character if B/W girl is older.

But eh, it's a pretty crazy idea and to be realistic I really doubt it would happen. Just something I random came up and was wondering about.

Although I really do sorta wanna see a 4 person group again.

That was already fairly terrible this season.

Granted I liked Dawn individually, (but not as much as other people did), but the DP trio as a whole was just goddamn boring. Brock returning for DP isn't a problem because of the character himself, but he made the group dynamics so dull.

They either need to try a four-person group again or have the BW girl and a NEW sidekick with good interactions together.

I agree with the Lady in regards that we should have gotten a Battle Frontier arc this series because then we could see the Frontier Brains who looked like they could have been good characters. But I disagree with it being in Johto because the most logical place to put it would be in the Battle Zone.

I disagree, there really isn't a reason for Ash to challenge the Battle Frontier IMO, he turned it down in Kanto, and it is not like the writers are going to have Ash change his decision.

There is always a reason to challenge trainers who rival the elite four in strength, to grow stronger as a trainer. Since he is not likely to win the league then he should have something on par with that. I know that given the release of BW its not gonna happen but I think it would have been really cool to see.

And they have not confirmed the anime for BW starts september.

They've confirmed the games are coming out in September and they've made a habit out of starting a new saga the same week the games come out. I'm betting that BW01 will air on September 30.

Honestly if Brock wasn't here this season, and was replaced by someone else the dynamics would have been more interesting. The Ash/Dawn friendship was handled fine. Brock, being Brock was just there....

I can't for the life of me figure out what the new group will be. Ash isn't leaving, Dawn is likely runnig off with Kenny, and Brock..who cares? I won't get my expectations too high though, it could very well be just another Ash, Girl, and Brock. Meh

Is it confirmed that Brock's staying?
Did we get a poster or summary of next Generation or some thing?
I mean, I know its most likely but untill we get true confirmation I'd like to leave this dooor opean for the time being.

Nothing about the new anime is confirmed except that it's starting in September.

Is it me, or does it kind of look like there is a Gabite in the new Sinnoh League Victors opening. You know, when they show all of Ash's Pokemon? I'm thinking maybe Ash's Gible will be evolving? o_O

Well since Ash isn't getting wrapped up unfortunately, most we can hope for is the BW girl and a new male sidekick.

I have trouble seeing the new male on the cast too, but I'll be fine either way as long as Brock is gone.

No I didn't see a Gabite you might be mistaking it. On a similar note with Ash's Cyndaquil evolving then shouldn't it change in the opening.

There is no point though, he has already conquered the Frontier challenge.

Well the Palmer match proved it would be great to see it anyway. The battles would have likely been good and Ash probably could have used more older pokemon.

I can see why the writers skipped it though. I bet if Palmer wasn't related to Barry, we wouldn't have seen him either.

Just because he conquered one frontier challenge doesn't mean he has conquered them all. And besides wouldn't you want to see a rematch with Palmer, or a battle with any of the other Brains.

No, I wouldn't.

Going back to do the Frontier challenge is a rehash, and it wouldn't even make sense storywise, since Ash turned down the offer to become a brain, and there has been no indication that he would change his mind.

What would be Ash's motivation for doing this again?

Ash's motivation for doing this is to improve his overall strength and become stronger. Another reason why the writers should have allowed for a Frontier-arc at the end of Sinnoh is that if there is something to accomplish he should work towards accomplishing it. Every region he's been in has had some sort of league but if every region he has been in developed has a battle frontier shouldn't he try doing that every time to. And if you're going to use the rehash argument then you should be saying every new generation is simply a rehash of the region before because it has the same 8 gyms to a league format. Another reason he should fight all the battle frontiers would be that he could add more accomplishments to his resume as a trainer. Ugh what a rant.

They should have just let him battle the Elite 4 this season and get to Cynthia.

The problem is Ash hasn't won the league yet, so the badges being a rehash is irrelevant since the ultimate goal of winning the league is unresolved. This is unlike the Frontier challenge, which he has already won and the goal was accomplished. IMO, there is really no point in doing it over again when we already know Ash isn't going to become a frontier brain.

What's the point then of doing a league again if the writers are never ever gonna let Ash win a league at least with Battle Frontiers you can always accomplish the goal. So if after every league he were to take on a Frontier challenge we could end it with a sense that he actually accomplished something rather than lose to someone...again.
