What's the point of anything? It's all pointless! Just end it already! *baby crying*

Am I right?

You know you're kind of right. It's all really pointless. But this show is worst than heroine. I kicked the habit for years but now I'm back again. I'm done complaining about the lack of a frontier this saga even though it should have happened.

In regards to the league do you think Ash should only use Sinnoh pokes when taking on Barry or have it combined with reserves.

Geez, I was being sarcastic. There really is no hope for this board, is there? No matter what happens, you're all going to hate it, but for no good reason, you just stick here out of sheer morbid curiosity. Well, at least I know to expect this board to fall apart at the end of a saga now because we never seem to learn our lesson.

What's the point then of doing a league again if the writers are never ever gonna let Ash win a league at least with Battle Frontiers you can always accomplish the goal. So if after every league he were to take on a Frontier challenge we could end it with a sense that he actually accomplished something rather than lose to someone...again.

IMO that would be very boring having Ash challenging and winning the frontiers after every league.

Yes Snorlax vs. Snorlax would be so epic but Ash's Snorlax would need to pwn Barry's real bad.

There was no reason to do a second Battle Frontier arc, just like there was no reason to re-visit Johto (thank goodness), so I can see why they just stretched Sinnoh out.

What they should have done though is make Sinnoh shorter and then make an Elite 4 arc of about 10-12 episodes.

You know as awesome as it would be to see Ash get that far I just think any regions frontier brains would be more interesting characters and that they're battles, while shorter, would be more interesting.

I bet if Palmer wasn't related to Barry, we wouldn't have seen him either.

Why? He's a DP character, unlike the others brains who are Platinum characters... the writers obviously wanted to showcase each and every one of the DP game characters and they successfully did it, complete with Jasmine who returns now after years and even included extremely minor characters (like Backlot, Landis' father, TRio representing the clowns in Jubilife, Grandma Wilma, etc...)
So Palmer would probably appear even if he wasn't related to Barry... it's only the Platinum/HGSS characters that don't "have" to appear in the DP series (and we saw most of the important ones from these too: Looker, Charon, Lyra...)

What would be Ash's motivation for doing this again?

The challenge... the chance to battle awesome high level trainers... that's more than enough for Ash to do it
Not like I say it'll happen... there's no time for this in the DP series - maybe next gen...

There was no reason to do a second Battle Frontier arc, just like there was no reason to re-visit Johto (thank goodness), so I can see why they just stretched Sinnoh out.

Yeah, just like there was no need for the Kanto BF - I guess the writers realized the Kanto BF felt like they're still in Hoenn so they better not bother with this again
The main reason I wanted a return to Johto is to see the new TR characters and possibly resolve the TRio plot (but I doubt they'll ever do that)
Other than that, they're advertising Johto more than enough while being in Sinnoh... so I get my Johto, actually more than Kanto got in BF... so I'm happy with this
Better get long sagas done right rather than shorter saga for the sake of rushing only because of an extremely short saga that wouldn't really change much

What they should have done though is make Sinnoh shorter and then make an Elite 4 arc of about 10-12 episodes.

Thanks Arceus they'll never do anything 10+ eps, that would be very boring...
I'd like a very quick unofficial battle of Ash VS Cynthia and see Cynthia easily beat him
But I guess that won't happen since there's no time... but other than that he really shouldn't win the League and shouldn't battle the E4
Maybe BW will give us an E4 challenge

There really haven't been all that many fillers though. Yes, it took forver between gyms, but there were lots of plot episodes in between.
In my opinion there were episodes that were really fillery, and even though they have not come around in the recent times, before that there were like baragges of them to me. Or maybe I have unfortunate timing and it always has a filler episode. :X But then again, what defines as filler varies with person to person. Considering how we both began viewing the anime at different times, our adaptation on what a filler is would be different too, right? o:

Yes they have.
Oh, I hope they spice it up this season and throw in more originality. This Region was not very exciting for me. Dawn seemed like Ash Ketchum if anything, and the you just had expies of the last region rivals here but severely watered down and everthing. :X And they weren't around as often making shipping in a lulled state.

But in this case: Given how White is older than Ash in the continuity (eternal 10 year old syndrome, shippers) I think Dawn will stay with him for this region. Misty gets three, and everyone else gets two. Haha.

I really hope they do something with Brock. He got stale AGES ago |:

I agree with the Lady in regards that we should have gotten a Battle Frontier arc this series because then we could see the Frontier Brains who looked like they could have been good characters. But I disagree with it being in Johto because the most logical place to put it would be in the Battle Zone.

I just wanted it for the shipping hints but that's okay too!! *Primarouletteshipper!*

I disagree, there really isn't a reason for Ash to challenge the Battle Frontier IMO, he turned it down in Kanto, and it is not like the writers are going to have Ash change his decision.
You're forgetting where Brock's love of his life is around every episode and that he owned a ninetales. The continuity in this series is as concrete as jello |:

They've confirmed the games are coming out in September and they've made a habit out of starting a new saga the same week the games come out. I'm betting that BW01 will air on September 30.

Musashi confirmed it; game over. But I am betting the same thing. I want the girl to be a rival to Dawn, and I really want her to look down on her and curb stomp her all of the time and have a really short fuse. . . wait that's too Harley. I want something original for the protagonists though.

They should have had an E4 ark, maybe not another Battle Frontier because the first one sucked eggs (if it weren't for May's continued presence)
4 years of the same thing, Is really tedious. no matter how much you like the characters. People complain about the filler episodes in Jhoto and Kanto, when in reality DP has the same amount. I admit that this saga has had the most plot crammed into it, but there are a lot of episodes that don't contribute to it in any way.

I hope the next female shakes things up a bit (she looks like she's capable of having a great personality)

I also think Paul will win the League, like Dawn lost to her main rival.
I've got a feeling Paul will be a permanent fixture now, so there's probably plenty of opportunities for redemption after the League.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ash won it either (seen as how it's not presented as all or nothing these days)I just wish it would get here, because I want Gen V to hurry up and start. I'm pleased there's not going to be a generic torch episode (although I'm happy to see Mr.Goodshow again)

I feel the opposite, because the rivalries stood for different things. Hikari never had to beat Nozomi to show what she had learned as Nozomi's student. Satoshi does have to beat Shinji to show that his training methods are better.

This. Main characters on this show haven't been shown to be able to beat their mentor (as May never beat Ash or Solidad), so Dawn didn't beat Zoey. Whereas, that dynamic is really absent from the Ash/Paul dynamic where their battles have something more at stake... to prove something, that their methods and philosophies are better. If Paul wins or ties, then that just proves that Hurting your pokémon, being cruel to them and abusing them until they're super strong is how you win a League... Not sure this is the message the writers want to send.

Paul will likely be beaten and we should be seeing Gliscor there as well as Infernape delivering the final blow.

After stalking other people's VMs much thought I think it would be interesting to see Kasumi at the league. If it is just for a cheering role then maybe she can comment on Shinji due to his past with going through other regions. She could have battled him I guess.

We will most likely see shots of her watching it on TV as with the other older characters.

Even Prof. Oak and Delia don't come to the leagues anymore. I found it hilarious nobody came to the Hoenn league, Delia/Oak just stayed home. lol.

It more intrigues me then thinking it will happen. Kasumi could comment on how he was then and we would see more into his past.

That'd be a great idea. Misty being in the League to cheer Ash on would be brillaint writing. I always thought whichever League Ash finally won, all his friends, or at least the original trio, should be there.

This League is confusing, I really don't know how the writers plan on making it nicely paced. I would like a Battle Frontier and Whirl Cup(with Misty) in Johto! :)

Can't Brock do the same? Who is he to explain that to?

Dawn's been around for 180 eps and they never really went into Ash's past with her.
