Do you really think 4-10 years old were setting up petitions, I really doubt that. Most of the outcry from Misty's depature came from the forum, which ironically consist of people oever 13. I am still puzzled why some people don't see this, people on the forums who complain about depatures are a small percentage of the actually fanbase, using the forum as a barometer of the true feelings of the fanbase is inaccurate.

same could be said for dawn.

Not really, Dawn is really popular with the actually target audience. Alot of people on the boards dislike Dawn and Piplup, ironically they are usually Misty fans. Also Pokemon Fan, what are you talking about? The ratings started to drop prior to Misty leaving the show, around the third season is when the fad began to die, not because Misty left.

Just like every other character was popular with target audience too.People seem to forgett here how lot of "older fans" were back than target audience.

EDIT: Talking about TV ratings i never said how they didnt started to drop before that, but there was certain drop(difference) in them right after Johto ended compared to situation before. Its not very hard to check.

Most of the older fans are in there what late teens, early twenties now. So they would still be in there early teens, to mid teens when Misty had left, making them not the target audience.

Not exactly, lot of older fans you can encounter in pokemon forums are now teens, not being even 20.In past they had about 10 or less which falls under category of target audience back than.

As i said before, your statement how Dawn is popular among target audience applies to any other character aswell when they were in show and afterwards.

In America, Misty left in 2003 most of the kids following Pokemon since Kanto were in middle school or entering highschool, they weren't the target audience anymore.

I'm 17. so pokemon started when I was 4. I definitely was the target audience. But still. Anything could still be said about Dawn too. Like I stated earlier. New shit sells. Old shit is old. Ash and pikachu are an exception since they are the franchise.

And once again, that is not how marketing works. You can push something to the moon, and people may not accept, just look at the Johto starters. If old shit didn't sell, why are they wasting their times with remakes? They have pushed Dawn into co-star role next to Ash, Piplup is approaching Pikachu's level in terms of being a mascot, they may very well drop Dawn. But people really need to stop using the past girls as examples, and claiming it is the same thing because it isn't.

The company realizes that's what many kiddies feel like as well. So they are likely to sacrifice Brock so Dawn can stay and do some Contests.
The new BW girl/boy will promote the new features from the game and they won't be co-stars like Ash and Dawn.

It wouldn't be too out there that Brock could leave after this season... Especially since Dawn knows how to cook and they no longer need him to always cook for them. However, he officially left his gym to his father so it may not happen like that... Unless he finally find his true love...

I hope they keep the DP cast tho

I'm not talking about past girls. They waste their time on remakes for compatability, and because todays audience usually don't own gameboy advances or gameboy colors. So they have just as much right to play the old games. And so they could promote even more features on the DS, such as the pokethlon.

There are plenty of people who accepted the Johto starters. All I've been saying is that everything you've been saying, could be said for Dawn also. Frankly they have already written the episodes for the first bit of GenV. And for all we know, White could be the most awesome new hit to the show. For all we know, she could possibly sell double what Dawn sold. Really, the only people who know who things are going to turn out is the creators themselves. I'm not the one trying to state facts. I'm trying to just give my two cents.

You forgett to include kids who started watching around Johto. Not to mention i encountered many of Misty,May,Brock fans who dont have even 18,which puts them into category of target audience before couple of years.

Even in these days i encountered some of today kids which are now target audience who prefer past characters, which shows how some small kids are familiarized with older sagas afterall.

Again, it is not the same thing. If they are going to drop Dawn like they did the others, why the hell did they bother changing the title from Ash's story, to Ash and Dawn's story. Why would they bother putting all this similarities between Ash and Dawn, and using four years to market their friendship. Why would they push Piplup to this status, if they are going to drop him later?

There are alot of red flags this time around, and I am tried of talking about Dawn, Misty etc. This argument is going no where.

Can you send me links to all of your sources. I would really like to see all of them. Not in a rude way, I just want to see where you are coming from.

I'd like to see both Dawn and Brock gone in the next arc.

I'd prefer Ash gone too, but that probably won't happen. Ash needs to travel with new people, and hopefully the group won't feel as stale as the DP trio did, and actually have chemistry together.

I'd rather see none of the BW protagonists in the next anime arc. Maybe in some side story.

It should just be Ash and Dawn, and some Brock replacement. That way the company wakes up and realizes the anime can be more than a kid's show. Because these last few episodes....

At least one of the two will be in the main group as a way to advertise the games. All the anime is is one big commercial

Get rid of everyone. Dawn's not gonna get a second Contest arc and Brock has been stale since Johto.

These last few episodes were very kidshowish... It's not like if Dawn stays, she and Ash would tell each other they're soul mates and make out... They're 10, the show is aimes at preteens, so no.

Dawn/Brock leaving would do wonders to freshen up the show. As well as all the DP rivals, they were all good characters but we need a change.

I will miss Ursula though, due to her lack of screentime.

At the same time, Dawn leaving would be a rehash of the last 2 sagas. Eventually, all the girls will just be clones of each other if they continue. I realized the animators have thought of that prior to DP, so they changed their tune by making Dawn as Ash-XX chromosome, instead of a "whole new girl".

Urara bugged me, she looked like a boy with some strange hair thing.
