Get rid of everyone. Dawn's not gonna get a second Contest arc and Brock has been stale since Johto.

We don't know if shey'll get a second contest arc.
Wait untill we get more information of her future to predict that.
LOL Too true about Brock though. But yah, replacing girls over and over can get a bit tiring. It was intresting the first two times, but once we do it the third time we get bored. Besides Dawn's pretty popular, why drop one of the more popular one for an unknown that might not do so well? Like I said in one of the topics, that's like replacing Brock with Tracey in the Orange Islands. Than again, the same thing could be said with May and Dawn got more popular. But replacing Dawn with a new contest girl and seeing her do the same tricks May or Dawn could have done gets a bit boring. So I say, either leave Dawn or replace Contests with a new side quest for girls to do.

It's better to just replace everyone. Give Ash closure, and have him as the recurring rival or champion. Dawn is more than likely gone, probably gonna end up traveling with Zoey, or Kenny. Who knows what Brock is gonna do....I don'r care. As long as he is retired. Have new characters the new fans can relate to, and that would be great.

They have to make Ash look like he is a "meat eater" instead of a "vegetarian". If Dawn leaves it will be bad for the reputation of the show, as Japan is already suffering from some phenomenon were newer generation guys aren't even interested in girls as close friends. Might as well make a good example with Ash.

Also Dawn needs her second arc.

Good idea, waste the second most developed character since the original cast to go with those two bores. Because of Zoey, this saga's GF final was the lowest rated.

Wait..what the hell?

Also Dawn needs her second arc.

I wouldn't mind if she stayed, but only if there was a timeskip of some sort to keep her staying fresh.

Preventing her to do all that cutesy stuff because she is already too old isn't keeping someone fresh. Instead they have to develop her character the same way they did after the end of Kanto.

What are you talking about Ash hardly developed in Johto. He was basically the same character as he was in Kanto, just a little bit more experienced. He didnt start becoming more mature until late Johto to early AG. Dawn doesnt need a second contest arc, I wont complain if she gets one but chances are that at the end of DP the writers will make some excuse for her to leave and the BW girl will take her place

They are already making lame excuses for her to stay.

The writers don't care. Yes, Kenny and Zoey were fairly "meh" characters, but that won't stop them from sending Dawn off with one of them.

But honestly, I want to see Ash travel with two girls. It would change the dynamics of the show for once, instead of having the usual two guys, and one girl. Having of the girls as a tomboy, would be better than having them both be super girly.

That's not possible because Pokemon is marketed primarily to young boys. It's either 2 boys + 2 girls, or Ash and Dawn with White-chan on her own sidequest (forgot to include a male character that can replace Brock).

As I said, the decision of having Dawn stay or not would have been many some time ago (2 years ago, estimate).

Its been shown that episodes with major interaction between Ash and Dawn get the most ratings and attention (just look at DP 180 thread, the same thing is happening in the Japanese sites). More convenient for them to keep this sort of dynamic into the next Pokemon series.

Why do people keep suggusting this, they are not going to drop Ash, he is the one consistent factor.

Ash won't leave, he's on every thing.
I've explained this tons of timesXD
He's in every saga, kids who watch each saga will know Ash.
Even in the newer sagas such as AG and D/P kids know who Ash is.
Plus its already been too long to replace him, they could have done it in the first series, but now its gone far too long. Kids know him and Pikachu as the faces of Pokemon. The girls are some thing else, I'm tired of them replacing each girl character in contets however kids who stay tuned will get to know each new girl. But Ash is the only character who has been in every saga, it wouldn't be the same with him. However, I see Dawn staying for many reasons that I didn't for the other girls, she got nearly the same treatment as Ash. She didn't get another arc like the other girls did and she didn't beat her rival Zoey like May got to with Drew.
Alrighty I'm tired LOL.

Because some people want to see a reboot, not matter how slim the possibility is. It's really not a hard concept to grasp.

Um, Ash did develop in Johto. Actually winning badges and training>sheer dumb luck and no training. Each saga he gets better, and i'd only expect more of him in the next saga.

Excepting a "reboot" is in the realm of believing Pokemon will turn into a HBO program. It's ridiculous because of the fact that it's fluff and aimed at children to promote a corporate franchise. Call us when Mickey Mouse grows a beard.

Dawn might actually earn all ribbons by herself next saga.

People have been clamoring for a reboot for over a decade now, they aren't going to do it, Pokemon is just not that type of anime. The whole reboot discussion near the end of every saga is as bad as the "old character" returning topics.....actually scratch that, lol.

Yes, it's only a matter of time before he wins a league, and beats the Elite 4. Unfortunately, that will be a long time coming. No character in this show will win a regional championship anytime soon. When they do, it'll probably be around the same time.]

Edit: Forgot the Orange League.

Because that series had no tie to Johto, right?

Dawn came so close to winning the regional GF. How will the next girl top her in that? Unless White-chan takes up contests (while ignoring the new BW game features).

Did i miss something? Was there ever announced to be something different than contests and gyms that the characters could do? White does not have to top Dawn. Just because you want Dawn to stay is clouding your judgement and you're seeing hints where there arent any. The fact is the anime has to advertise the games. Dawn and Piplup are Diamond and Pearl characters and therefore cannot advertise Black and White as well as the chracters from those games. It's possible that Dawn is staying but in no way is it confirmed

They are Pokemon characters, that's all that matters.

The anime is standalone from the games, and only has certain specific obligations to it (advertising the region itself, the pokemon, gym leaders, other characters, etc.). Besides that, it has creative freedom to use to keep the young audience watching.

They have not even updated Ash to resemble Red from HGSS. Millions of kids will be excited to finally fight "Ash" in Mt. Silver, but will be shocked when they see he does not resemble the anime protagonist at all.

Dawn is staying because she has been accepted as a permanent addition to the anime cast. From the promotion which put her as equivalent to Ash. Brock and TR (except Meowth) are not promoted at such levels, what makes you think Dawn is not the exception to the imagined "new girl every saga" rule?
