Seems like the only people who think Dawn's staying are of course the major Dawn fans.

Just because you're a fan of the character doesn't mean she has a better chance of staying than anyone else.

Booting off Dawn after this saga would be like replacing Ash with the hero from Pokemon Gold/Silver in the start of Johto.

Unfortunately for you, The writers don't care how you feel. It sounds harsh but that's the reality. Dawn is likly leaving with Zoey or Kenny. Ash is going to the next region, and going to meet up with he new girl. Likely destorying her bike. History repeats itself.

And it seems that the people who think Dawn is leaving have been consistently wrong on most of their predictions, which pushes people like me to the other side.

Well, a broken clock is right twice a day.

Dawn's a DP heroine with a 4th gen Piplup. The next saga is the BW anime and there is a new heroine and new starters available.

On top of that based on history, it seems likely that we will have a cast swap.

That is a basic assumption. As I said you fail to racionalize this specific sittuation. Its not about being more fan or not. Its about the evidence they let go, being the hints and the "push" we all saw.

Yes, thats why they will always be around the characters who are more profitable for them. They wont care how I fell, they dont care about how MisterUrban feels or any specific individual. They will just care the necessary for the target audience my following the current marketable trends.

And by now, history repeating itself is having a bad score.

History repeating itself 2 - 5 Unpredictability

And this is exactly the problem, DP has shown to be breaking trends for the last four years.

Not in terms of advertising. This is why all the starters are on the main cast, why Lyra appeared for 5 episodes, and why DP got derailed by a bunch of HGSS episodes.

Every saga had a cast change. The only one that kept things exactly the same was the transition from Hoenn to Battle Frontier, and that's because it was the same series and still part of the same arc.

DP isn't getting a filler arc like Hoenn did, so there will be a huge revamp.

The fact is that what you call hints may mean nothing to the writer's. I've seen some "hints" that dont mean anything but the person who wants Dawn to stay has interpreted it as proof. There's also some "hints" that haven't happened and people are still treating them as fact. The fact is Dawn might stay, she might not, so dont go around treating everything as fact saying the writer's want to keep her for marketability when it would be more marketable to get rid of her for a new girl that can advertise the new gen better.

I think I have a good one. This might sound unnecessarily harsh, though.

Why would they choose Dawn to represent the female aspect of pokemon? Not just for DP, but all of Pokemon? Gamefreak has no reason to do that. They have a new generation to promote, why would they forgo that just because people like Dawn? We've said before that didn't stop them replacing Misty, and it didn't stop them replacing May. If they wanted a poster girl for all of pokemon, they should've kept Misty. For the last time, Dawn was the promotion tool for the fourth gen. Her starter was a promotional tool for the fourth gen. They were featured prominently because that was their intention. It's good advertising. I do not believe Gamefreak works on the opinion of which female is better. Again, they would've never gotten rid of Misty if that was true. All of this should be self evident, but if you refuse to believe that, then I have nothing more to say. Oh, and if you want to argue that it took them this long for a female companion to be "just right", then I won't be the one to murder you for that. I'll let the rest of these people do it for me.

Ok forget the hints. You can deny the "push" she had. Deying that its just like deying that José Mourinho isnt the best football trainer from the world. I hope you understand analogies.

The main girl in the last two regions have only been there as a tool to market the new games. That's why the new BW girl will most likely take up the place as the new tool regardless of how much Dawn's character is being pushed to the masses or how popular she is.

No one is denying there will be a cast change, the question is wether Dawn will apart of that cast. Also, advertising is really easy to get around, you don't need to replace Dawn, or even Brock for that matter to market the new starters.

Why people have this black/white view on marketing, no pun intended, I will never understand.

Ash and the main female always get the most screentime of any character in that saga. Even Misty used to get more screentime than Brock when they were on the show at the same time.

If Dawn stays, the next arc will feel like DP 2.0. Even if all the Pokemon are gone except Pikachu and Piplup, it'll still feel very similar to what we watched for 200 episodes.

A new saga brings in new kids and a revamp/reboot, most likely things will be shaken up. We're not going to sit through a repeat of the Ash/Dawn dynamic and more of the same, and I get the feeling Zoey/Kenny can never be gone as long as Dawn is around.

You are basically posting your opinion as fact, they can keep Dawn and Ash and make the new saga feel entirely differant, also if Dawn stays why the hell would they need to bring Kenny or Zoey to the next region, that is another stupid fanmade rule.

What you have to understand is that probably things we'll be different this time. They kept throwing at us this all unpredictability in DP now they say the characters are older.
Another thing is that whatever excuse they make IF they dont age up Ash, it will be awkward to see a younger experienced Ash with an older rookie character. They'll have to have someone of Ash's age to counterpart. The main thing is things will be different so whatever way this comes out, it wont be the same thing that has happened before. Keep your mind open to that.

Edit: Oh and by the way when you say things will be shaken up again, they will be yes, but in a different tone than the past. Remind that.

I know things won't always be the same. But it wouldn't exactly be awkward to see Ash, a trainer with lots of experience and an older beginner if they had the right situation on it. And besides what if the girl already is experienced and simply finds another quest than the one she has been competing in previously. For example, she could have already done the gym challenge and do really bad at the league and then discover contests and its where she truly excels.

Two words: strange and confusing. Come on, she will fit yes if she has a new side quest, frankly its about damn time for a new one. I hope it will be since the games will have some great improvement too.
