''BREAKING NEWS!

This just in! A few hours ago, the Hoenn Coast Guard reported to have spotted the JKNS Victory Road near the coast of Lilycove City! Tensions between the Johto-Kanto Alliance and Hoenn have been rising over a few months, but would they risk an all-out war? Well, apparently, the JKA does! More on this as it develops.''

--- 50 miles away from Lilycove City ---

''Minami! Minami!! You still awake?'' A pilot aboard the Victory Road said. A small blond-haired girl, who was the pilot of one of the jets aboard the carrier, looked to her right and waved. ''Yes, I'm still awake, thanks.'' She replied. ''That's good, because we just got new orders! We're launching! Command is filling us in when we're airborne, but it seems that this conflict just got hot!'' The pilot said. ''Wait... What?'' Minami muttered. ''Lieutenant Azumaya, ready for launch?'' A deck crew member said. ''I've been sitting on alert 5 for 3 hours straight now, what did you expect?'' Minami replied. ''Tower here. Asp squadron, you are cleared for take-off.'' The tower suddenly interruped. Minami made a gesture towards a deck crew member and then pushed her throttle stick forward. Her jet's afterburners engaged with a thunderous roar and her plane shot off the deck's ramp.

Minami whimpered quietly due to the G-forces; her petite body couldn't take them very well. Shortly after take-off, she retracted her plane's landing gear and joined formation with her squadron's leader, who had come off the deck just before her. ''Alright, so here's the plan. There's an anti-ship missile battery and a bunch of tanks in Lilycove City, and Command wants us to blow them up. Got it?'' He said. ''Asp 1-2, copy that.'' Minami replied. ''We'll be over the target in 5 minutes. Stay clear of anti-air missiles, people.'' The squadron leader said.

--- Lilycove City, some 3 minutes later ---

Sergeant Sean Dodge peeked out of his tank's hatch. ''Yo Sean, you think the Alliance will really attack us?'' His loader asked, pointing at the inbound aircraft. ''I haven't got the slightest idea, Fairfax. Guess those planes are just here for some stupid recon shit or something.'' Sergeant Dodge replied. ''Maybe not, Sean.'' His gunner Nottingham said, who was sitting on the tank's turret. ''Missiles! Those fuckers are firing!'' Dodge yelled just before the Patriot AA missile launcher a few hundred meters behind him went live and fired all 4 of its missiles. ''Come on, let's button down! Nottingham! Get the fuck in here!'' Dodge yelled. Nottingham did as ordered, after which Dodge and his loader got in as well and closed the hatches.

''Alright, we can't do fuck against these jets, so let's not make ourselves a target, gents. Just sit tight.'' Dodge said, following the planes through the roof-mounted camera before the tank was shook by an explosion nearby. ''The Patriot! They got the Patriot fire control!'' His loader yelled, who was keeping an eye on the other vehicles around the tank through his own camera. ''Sit tight, gents.'' Dodge repeated.

--- Above Lilycove City ---

''Alright, fire control's down. Asp lead breaking from formation to get rid of those tanks.'' The squadron leader said before leaving the formation, Minami trailing him. ''Wait, what's...?'' Minami muttered, noticing something bright to her left. ''Missile! Missile in my 10 o'clock!'' Minami said before breaking to her left and dumping flares. ''Goddammit! I've got a missile on my tail!'' She frantically yelled, desperately trying to dodge the missile. ''Asp 1-2! Asp 1-2!! Fairy! Eject! It's too close!'' The squadron leader yelled before he saw Minami bail out of her plane, the missile tearing the jet apart just mere seconds later. ''This is Asp lead, we lost Asp 1-2! Say again, we lost Asp 1-2!'' He said. Minami, meanwhile, had activated her parachute, feeling a terrible pain in her ribs. ''Gosh, I must've bruised my ribs...'' She whined, watching the fireball that once was her plane.

--- Sean Dodge's tank ---

''Sean, they just got one of those fuckers. He bailed.'' Nottingham said. ''Good. One less Alliance jet to worry about.'' Dodge said, smiling.

OoC: Would be cool if your character would be sent to the place where the plane crashed to search for the pilot or something.

@Royal Sovereign
--In the Lilycove city base--

Rookie Cody Mansir smiled, finally getting a mission. The army had always said he was too boyish to do any actual work, but now that all the other guys were out, he was being sent. "Mansir, we need you to go to the crash site of the Victory Road and see if there's survivors. If there are, hit em hard and clean 'em up." said Commander Axel.

Cody nodded and headed out the door and hopped on his mongoose, checking quickly to make sure he had everything needed. Taking off, he just followed the smoke in the air.

--a half hour later, at Sergeant Dodge's tank--

"You blow that thing up? How big was it? I gotta go find survivors." Cody said quickly, too excited to make any sense. He drove, much closer to the smoke now.

--at crash site--
Cody parked his rig when he guessed he was only a quarter of a mile away. Crouching down and walking slowly towards the crash site, Cody could feel the heat of the fire as he approached. Cody ducked behind a wall of what he guessed was an old hotel. Peering back around, he could see heads, and quite a few of them for plane survivors. Slowly drwing he .50 cal, he scoped in on one of the heads, and slowly pulled the trigger...

--- plane crash site ---

Minami, who had been writhing around in pain due to her bruised ribs and a shrapnel wound in her left hip, heard the loud bang of a gunshot near the place where another jet had crashed. She quickly drew her pistol and crawled over to what once was her jet's left rear stabilizer and looked around in search of the source of the gunshot.

--- Sean Dodge's tank ---

"Didcha just hear something?" Dodge asked his loader. "Negative sir, but I did see another one of those fuckers get blown out of the sky." His loader replied. Dodge smirked and went back to staring at the camera display.

--- message to Cody Mansir ---

"Mansir, we want any survivors alive. Unless they shoot at you, of course. Command out." An officer inside the makeshift command center in Lilycove said over the radio.

OOC: @KantoMasta

The Victory Road is the Johto-Kanto navy's flagship and their only aircraft carrier.

OOC: @Royal Sovereign how many survivors?

--at the crash site--
"We want any survivors alive. Unless they shoot at you of course," a voice said over the radio to Cody. Too bad Cody had already shot. Cussing under his breath, he pulled back, unloading his clip. Now what was he going to do? It was himself against at least three of them.

Peeing around the corner just enough to be able to see, Cody saw a women pull a pistol and crawled behind part of the ship. They were hurt from the crash! He realized he would onl need one other person helping at the most.

--messege to base--
"Base, this is Mansir, I need at least one backup here ASAP. There is at least three confirmed survivors, and one was KIA'd," Cody said over the radio.

OOC: @KantoMasta assuming one of the jets was a two-seater, 2 survivors at most right now. Also, FYI, the Victory Road is still afloat. Two jets were shot down, but that's it.

IC: Minami crawled towards another piece of cover again, leaving a small trail of blood behind, before she heard a gunshot which was fired by the pilot of the other plane who had apparently moved up towards the sniper. "You there! Drop your weapon!" He yelled at Cody.

--- Lilycove command center ---

"Uhh, negative, soldier. We can't really spare any backup right now. I think. We might be able to divert a tank from Lilycove, but we need you to give us an accurate threat assesment first." The officer replied.

"Uhh, negative, soldier. We can't really spare any backup right now. I think. We might be able to divert a tank from Lilycove, but we need you to give us an accurate threat assesment first." the command center replied to Cody. He cursed under his breath, but came to joy when he saw something move. It was the survivor he had seen earlier switching covers. He saw a blood trail, so he knew he could track her down.

"You there! Drop your weapon!" yelled a voice behind Cody. Slowly turning around, he saw an enemy officer, ponting a gun at him. Bending down Cody dropped his sniper on the ground. Coming back up though, he pulled his RPG off it's holder on his side, but secretly opened the com link as he did it. Putting his guns down, he began to speak.

"Ok, we don't need trouble, I'm being forced to do this. Im from Johto, like you," Cody tried pursuaing the opposing officer. "We can work something out right? Maybe I can help you?" Cody continued, hoping the HQ would be able to tell he was in trouble.

--- Lilycove Command ---

"Divert Dodge. I honestly can't care less about that Mansir guy, but I don't want enemy pilots running around behind our lines, and Mansir seems to be in trouble." The officer said. "But sir, Dodge doesn't exactly have the best track record with prisoners." Another officer replied. "Just do it." The other officer hissed.

--- Sergeant Dodge's tank ---

"Sergeant Dodge, we want you to leave your company behind for now. We want you to move west to assist in capturing any surviving Johto pilots. We already sent someone, but he is in trouble right now." Dodge heard somebody over the radio. "... This is Lima 2-1, breaking from formation and diverting to said location, out." Dodge replied, sighing.

--- back at the crash site ---

"Do you have any first aid supplies? My fellow pilot over there is wounded." The pilot said, pointing at Minami. Minami slowly stood up to reveal herself at this, quietly whimpering due to the pain ravaging her body. She wasn't an imposing sight; more like a pathetic one due to her tiny body and crimson-coloured spot on her left hip.

A few minutes later, Dodge arrived at top speed, with loader Fairfax peeking out of the turret hatch and manning the machinegun. Dodge, who had swapped places with his loader, cocked his pistol and pulled out his combat knife before climbing off his tank as it came to a stop, aiming at Minami. "Drop the gun, or I'm dropping your comrade over there!" He yelled at the pilot behind Mansir.

The pilot took a quick glance at Minami before aiming his pistol at Dodge. Dodge swapped targets and shot the pilot in the head. "Big mistake, asshole." He muttered. Minami just watched how the tank commander executed her comrade, before dropping her pistol, sitting down and hugging her legs, crying quietly. "Hey, so the Alliance is accepting kids as pilots now?" Dodge yelled at Minami, walking over to Mansir. "What's your name, soldier?" He asked.

OOC: @KantoMasta typed it all on my Blackberry, so typos ahoy.

@Royal Sovereign

--At the crash site--
"Do you have any first aid supplies? My fellow pilot over there is wounded." the enemy officer said, indicating towards the lone soldier behind cover.

"I-I-I do but their sorta back at my Mongoose.." Cody muttered. The enemy pilot just glared at Cody, then looked around. Then Cody heard it. The noise was loud, alot louder than his mongoose. Suddenly, a tank appeared, heading straight for the crash sight. Cody grinned as he noticed who it was, the enemy pilot had no clue what to do. He slowly backed away, back to where his gus were. He noticed whoever jumped out of the Tank was aiming at the wounded enemy pilot, the girl.

Suddenly, the enemy officer, the guy, swung his gun around and pointed at Cody's backup. Swinging around also, whoever it was the base sent shot the enemy pilot guy in the head. He dropped with a silent thud. The other allied officer said something to the wounded before walking over to Cody, asking his name.

"Rookie Cody Mansir, sir!" Cody replied, saluting this officer. Cody immediately knew that this guy was alot higher rank than himself.

"Pleased to meet you. The name's Sean Dodge. Sergeant from Lima Company. Come on, let's get the crying kid." Dodge said, referring to Minami. He slowly walked towards her. "Mansir, get her on her feet." He yelled at Cody. ''Or wait, actually, let me handle her.'' He said, moving towards Minami. ''Say, little kid, you don't happen to have any weapons on you, right?'' He asked, kicking away Minami's pistol. Minami just sat there, staring at this scary man before he gave her a sharp kick to her left hip, on the spot where three pieces of metal shrapnel had embedded themselves into her flesh. ''Hand over your knife to me.'' Dodge said. Minami did as she was told. ''Good girl.'' Dodge said before walking back to his tank. ''Mansir, you can take care of her. I gotta get back to my company.'' He yelled at Mansir as he climbed back in his tank. ''Fairfax, get back into your own seat. Keene, back to Lilycove, full throttle.'' He said before he sat back down into his commander's seat. The tank's engine came to life and the vehicle drove off, back to Lilycove City.

"Pleased to meet you. The name's Sean Dodge. Sergeant from Lima Company. Come on, let's get the crying kid." the other man said. Dodge then walked over to the girl on the ground. Picking up his weapons, Cody followed right behind. It felt way better to him to have some weapons then to be defenseless.

''Say, little kid, you don't happen to have any weapons on you, right?'' Dodge asked the girl on the ground. She just kept crying, not answering. Dodge kicked her in the thigh, and noticed another weapon. "Hand your knife over to me," Dodge said to the girl. She slowly handed her knife to Dodge. "Good Girl," Dodge said, walking over to his tank. "Mansir, you can take care of her, I gotta get back to my own company," Dodge yelled to Cody. Cody gave a slight nod, then turned to the girl.

Smiling, he decided he would try a different act then Dodge. "Hey there, for starters can you tell me your name? I'm Rookie Cody Mansir" Cody asked. He was trying to be friendly to take her out of shock. After checking the girls weapons were far out of reach, he began to tie her hands up with some rope. The rookies usually didnt have actual 'cuffs.

The girl took a brief moment to stop crying and then replied. ''M-Minami Azumaya. That's my name.'' She replied, her voice trembling. ''Are you... A soldier?'' She asked quietly, trying to ignore the burning pain in her ribs and thigh.

--- Dodge's tank ---

''Uhh, Sean, those smoke plumes over Lilycove... They're not supposed to be there, are they?'' Dodge's loader asked before a 73mm round hit the tank. ''We just got hit! Seemed to have hit the upper glacis!'' Dodge's driver Keene yelled. ''Stay calm. Nottingham, switch to thermal imaging. Load a HEAT round.'' Dodge ordered. ''Sean! We just got a transmission from Lima 1-3! The Alliance is airlifting troops into Lilycove City via helicopter! The air defence network in this area is down! There's a Kirov-class guided-missile battlecruiser near Slateport City, and it blew up the air defence command center there a few minutes ago!'' Loader Fairfax yelled while loading the 120-mm HEAT shell into the gun's breech. ''Nottingham, BMD-1, 11 o'clock. Aim.'' Dodge yelled. ''... Fire!'' He added a few seconds later. The propellant in the barrel ignited and forced the HEAT shot out of the barrel at a high velocity. The tank recoiled tremendously. The HEAT shot hit the BMD, which blew up just seven seconds later. ''Ammo storage. Alright, Keene, take us to Lilycove. Eyes open!'' He said.

''M-Minami Azumaya. That's my name.'' the sobing girl replied with a trembling voice. ''Are you... A soldier?'' Minami asked. Finsihing tying her hands up, Cody walked around to face her. Kneeling down, he answered. "Ya, but I;m the lowest ranked out of al the soldiers. I won't hurt you if you listen to me, ok?" he told Minami. "Now i'm going to need you to get up so we can get to my mongppse, come on," Cody said softly, trying to persuade the girl. He knew that his plan might not be the smartest, but if she would listen to him they might have something here.

"My-my thigh. It's bleeding. I can't walk." Minami said, surprised by this soldier's kindness. "That asshole just now... He... Kicked me on my thigh. It hurts." She whined. However, she did make an attempt to stand up, tears rolling down her cheeks again. ''It hurts like crazy.'' She said inbetween her sniffles and whimpers.

--- Dodge's tank ---

Dodge changed the frequency on his tank's radio. ''Rookie Mansir! Can you hear me? This is sergeant Dodge, Lima Company. Stay away from Lilycove! The Alliance is airlifting in armoured vehicles and soldiers. It's not safe. I'm diverting one of my tanks to your location to escort you and the prisoner to Fortree City, where you will be picked up by a helicopter! Stay safe, and watch for any enemy BMDs!'' Dodge said before he changed back to the company frequency. ''Hamilton, head west to the position I was just diverted to. You're on escort duty. A rookie, and more importantly, an enemy prisoner. The prisoner has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and a shrapnel wound on her left thigh., and the rookie is walking around with a sniper rifle and RPG. You'll recognize them. Get them to Fortree City safely. Move!'' Dodge said to Hamilton, another tank commander. ''Solid copy. Lima 1-4 diverting to the west. Good luck, people.'' Hamilton replied before driving off.

"My-my thigh. It's bleeding. I can't walk." Minami sad, her eyes wide in pain. She tried to stand up, but more tears rolled down her face and hse cried out in pain. "It hurts like crazy," Minami said, still crying. Cody cursed under his breath at Dodge for making the injury worse. Just then, as if on cue, Dodge's voice was heard over the radio.

Stay safe, and watch for any enemy BMDs!'' Dodge shouted over the intercom. Just what Cody needed, something to make this job harder.

"Listen, Minami, i need you to do what I say. I'm going to help you get under some cover, and I need you to stay down," Cody said to Minami, trying to sound as calm as possible. He helped her move back into the cover not any more than 20 feet away. "Listen, the Alliance is coming, I know you're alligned with them, but right now you're with me," Cody said, sliding into the cover.

Pulling his Sniper Rifle out, he quickly scanned the area for any enemy heads. There were none to be seen, but he knew to be on high alert. "That tank better be here soon, my sniper can only hold so many off," Cody continued.

"Why... Why are you helping me?" Minami asked, staring at Cody. She didn't expect this soldier to be this friendly, and she was genuinely surprised.

Suddenly, a BMD-1, which had apparently managed to remain unseen, arrived at the scene with four soldiers riding on the engine deck, who hopped off and opened fire on Cody and Minami.

---- Hamilton's tank ---

"Harris, BMD, 2 o'clock! Aim... Fire!" Hamilton yelled just before his main gun fired, the tank recoiling. The depleted uranium penetrator darted towards its target; however, the BMD's armour did little to stop it, and the APFSDS shell punched straight through the vehicle. "Maxwell! Load HEAT!" He yelled at his loader before he opened his turret hatch, stood up, and loaded the machinegun on top of the turret.

The Alliance infantry scrambled to cover as a hail of .50 calibre bullets came whizzing their way, forgetting about Cody and Minami.

"You've got great friends." Minami said, after which she caught herself smiling at the tank's sheer firepower, showing her fangs briefly. "Wait... That's just wrong." Minami said to herself shortly after. So here she was, smiling because an enemy tank was blowing up what were effectively her comrades. Minami felt like shit. First time she actually sees action, and she is shot down and captured by enemy forces. This day just couldn't get any better.

Or so she thought. Dark edges were appearing in her vision. Minami was starting to lose too much blood from the shrapnel wound.

--- Aboard the Kirov-class battlecruiser JKNS Goldenrod City ---

The Goldenrod City, after gaining confirmation that the anti-ship missile battery in Lilycove no longer was a threat, had diverted to Water Route 124 ahead flank to provide the landing forces with naval gunfire support and to get into a standoff position to fire its SA-N-20 anti-air missiles. The plan was to neutralize the Hoenn Air Force as soon as possible, and the Goldenrod City and her sister ship, the JKNS Saffron City, were perfectly suited to this task.

''Bathtub to Leviathan. Bathtub to Leviathan.'' The ship's radioman heard. He immediately recognized the codename ''bathtub'' as the one assigned to the Victory Road. ''Leviathan listening.'' He replied. ''We just lost two jets a little bit west of Lilycove. We want you to get a helicopter up to either rescue or kill the pilots if the situation warrants it.'' Bathtub replied. ''Affirmative.'' The radioman said and forwarded the orders to the battlecruiser's commanding officer.

"Why... Why are you helping me?" Minami asked Cody. He didn't honestly know the answer to that himself. Thinking about it quickly, he just gave a good answer.

"Its my job kid, I have to protect everyone in Hoenn. You aren't a bad kid, just made some wrong choices," Cody replied. Cody heard an engine. "Get down, i don't know if thats a friendly or a foe," Cody whispered. Ducking down and making sure Minami was behind him, he looked through his sniper again. An enemy BMD-1 was headed straight for them! Four enemy's hopped off the machine and opened fire at Cody and Minami.

Cody peeked up so he could get a good shot. He barely had time to pull his sniper up to his eyes before a second engine pulled in, opening fire on the enemys. The enemy's scrambled and took cover as the friendly's opened fire on them, turning the tables. "You've got great friends." Minami muttered to Cody. He was suprised at those words, especially from an enemy.

"It's just their job, like mine. Now come on, we have a break in the fire, let's get to that friendly," Cody said, motioning towards the vehicle. Reclipping his gun into its holder, he looked down at Minami. She looked half unconcious, fading in and out. Cody reached down and put Minami's arm round his neck. Staggering out to the friendly tank, he waved his hand, to show he was the friendly. Walking up to the tank, he wondered who would come out.

"Stop calling me a kid." Minami said quietly. "I'm 24 years old. Why are you calling me a kid? Because I'm short?" She added, almost whispering at this point. Gosh, she may have been bleeding out, but she still hated being called "a kid" or "shorty". "And I didn't make any wrong choices. I didn't want to join the military, believe me." She said. "My family comes from Hoenn. They moved to Johto before I was born. My roots are in this region. Dammit, some of my family still lives here!" She yelled. Why she was telling Cody this was beyond her; probably frustration and blood loss taking its toll on her.

Hamilton hopped off his tank when he saw Cody and his prisoner moving towards him. "That's her?" He asked. "What happened to her thigh?" He said. He didn't expect an enemy naval aviator to look like some sort of angel. Well, a fallen one. Suddenly, his tank fired at what was once the BMD-1. The HEAT shell did way more damage than the APFSDS shell, and ignited the vehicle. the BMD's 73mm ammo exploded and blew out the vehicle's sides, killing the enemy soldiers in the process. "Didcha just hear something?" Hamilton said, grinning. ''Anyway, were you planning to get her to Fortree City? I can't prop her up on my engine deck. The exhaust gases from my tank's turbine engine are too hot.'' He said.

--- JKNS Goldenrod City ---

"This is helo control to bridge. Helo away!" An officer aboard the ship said. "This is Rescue. Heading towards the crash site to search for any pilots. Out." The pilot said, flying off towards the crash site.

OoC: @KantoMasta

@Royal Sovereign sorry about short post

Minami got mad at Cody for calling her a kid, and explained everything to Cody. After hearing her story, Cody felt sorry for her. Looking back up to the tank, he was happy help had came.

"That's her?" He asked. "What happened to her thigh?" the man asked. Cody shook his head.

"Some backup I had was an idiot," Cody replied. Suddenly, one of the guns on the enemy vehicle blew up, killing the enemies with it. The man smiled and muttered something, and Cody smiled back.

''Anyway, were you planning to get her to Fortree City? I can't prop her up on my engine deck. The exhaust gases from my tank's turbine engine are too hot.'' the man said.

"That's ok, if you will take her I can get to my Mongoose, and we should be good from there," Cody replied.

"So you're taking her with you, right?" Hamilton asked. "Also, I gotta say, she looks more like a teenage schoolgirl than like a pilot." He added. Minami shot him an angry look before she blacked out again. "I need help." She muttered.

--- airspace west of Lilycove City ---

"VID on enemy tank. Near the jet crash site. Permission te engage, over?" The helicopter pilot asked. His Ka-25 was only lightly armed, carrying a double-barreled 23mm gunpod, but he also identified 3 humans near the tank. "Affirmative. Engage enemy combatants only. We'd like to have the pilots back alive." The helo control officer aboard the Goldenrod City replied. The pilot aboard the helicopter nodded and took his helicopter down into a firing position.

--- near Hamilton's tank ---

"Shit! Helicopter! You two, move it!" Hamilton yelled before running back to his tank. "Enemy helicopter! Button up!" He yelled as he closed his hatch above him.

"They're here for me..." Minami quietly said. She wasn't quite sure what to do; Cody wanted to help her, but the guys in the helicopter were her comrades... Who could she trust?

However, that decision apparently wasn't up to herself; the black edges overtook her vision and she collapsed on the ground, unconscious.

"So you're taking her with you, right? Also, I gotta say, she looks more like a teenage schoolgirl than like a pilot." the man said. Cody nodded, giving a slight smile at the fact this other guy was also calling Minami a kid.

Looking at Minami, Cody noticed she wasn't looking very good. "I need help." Minami said, fading in and out of conciousness.

Cody suddenly heard aloud noise overhead. Looking up, he saw a helicopter, and knew it wasn't friendly. "Shit! Helicopter! You two, move it!" the other man said. Cdy put his arm around Minami again to help her get back, and Minami muttered something. They didn't make it far though, as Minami collapsed on he ground, unconsious.

Cody quickly assesed his options. That chopper might be an enmy to him, but it was a friendly to Minami, it wouldn't hurt her. Ducking beneath some cover, he had an idea. Pulling his own sniper out, he scoped in right above Minami's unmoving body. "If these f*ckers want her, they'll have to put up a hell of a fight," he muttered to himself.
