Taking a break from Scarlet and went back to BD for the first time in a while. Started a new playthrough. Now I'm searching for a final team member for my squad and open to other suggestions. I just got to Veilstone City and about to tackle Maylene. My current team is as followed:
Infernape (Hotshot, male, Blaze, Lv39, Naive, Amulet Coin, Power-Up Punch/Close Combat/Flamethrower/Fury Swipes)
Notes: Power-Up Punch and Fury Swipes are filler moves. U-turn will replace Fury Swipes now that I can get the TM for it in the Department Store, but I'm not sure what to replace Power-Up Punch with. Suggestions are fine.
Staraptor (Aerrow, male, Intimidate, Lv37, Jolly, Shell Bell, U-turn/Close Combat/Pluck/Roost)
Notes: Plan to replace Pluck with Brave Bird despite not liking recoil moves, but having the Shell Bell + Roost helps mitigate that issue. Otherwise not much else to say.
Torterra (Gaia, male, Overgrow, Lv37, Impish, Curse/Bullet Seed/Earthquake/Body Slam)
Notes: A random leftover egg I had from an earlier breeding project that I traded over for the heck of it. Will probably replace Body Slam with a different move like Rock Slide or something so I'm open to suggestions.
Gardevoir (Lora, female, Trace, Lv34, Timid, Wide Lens, Hypnosis/Draining Kiss/Psybeam/Life Dew)
Notes: GU Mon, though the Egg Move sucked. Plan to replace Life Dew with Shadow Ball when I get it and replace Draining Kiss with Moonblast once I get to Pastoria. Wide Lens helps Hypnosis' terrible accuracy, which has landed more times than I thought even prior to getting the Wide Lens, but will probably replace Hypnosis with something else. Suggestions are fine.

A new day (er... night), a new squad, a new adventure. Those who have kept up with my special blog will know about this team in my recent playthrough of Scarlet. But despite the team beating the main story I want some advice on fine-tuning it, especially for completing 5 Star Tera Raid Battles. So any advice would be helpful. The team is as followed.
Skeledirge (Ladon, male, Lv88, Timid, Blaze, Amulet Coin, Torch Song/Earth Power/Will-O-Wisp/Shadow Ball, Fire Tera Type)
Notes: My starter, obviously. I feel his set is fine for the most part. I replace the Amulet Coin with a Shell Bell during Tera Raids since I can recover decent HP with it from those enlarged HP bars the Tera Mons have. But any suggestions for a better item is fine.
Noivern (Ryu, male, Lv80, Modest, Infiltrator, Wise Glasses, Dragon Pulse/Boomburst/Air Slash/U-turn, Normal Tera Type)
Notes: Pretty okay with Ryu, though his Nature was recently updated from Timid to Modest. I know Timid is considered ideal for Noivern but he's already plenty fast so I feel the boost to Special Attack might be more useful in this case. Suggestions are fine, though.
Talonflame (Nina, female, Lv80, Naughty, Flame Body, No Item, U-turn/Acrobatics/Steel Wing/Flare Blitz, Flying Tera Type)
Notes: Like Ryu, Nina went through a nature upgrade, going from Serious to Naughty. I was initially going to make her a mixed attacker but she ended up on the physical side of the spectrum. I don't give her an item so Acrobatics can hit at full power, and I'd rather not have a second recoil move like Brave Bird (I'm already iffy with Flare Blitz as it is but having a physical Fire move to go along with Ladon's special Fire move does cover some extra bases). I'm curious if I should change her Tera Type, though, like maybe to Steel or something. Suggestions are welcome.
Dudunsparce (Deis, female, Lv80, Adamant, Serene Grace, Rocky Helmet, Coil/Dragon Rush/Body Slam/Drill Run, Normal Tera Type)
Notes: Serene Grace + Body Slam paralysis = fun times. And Coil helps improve Dragon and Drill Run's meh accuracy while also improving Deis' tanking ability, along with Rocky Helmet punishing physical hits. Plus her having a Dragon move keeps some pressure off Ryu to deal with other Dragons. Not sure if I want to keep her Normal Tera Type or not. But I'm open to suggestions.
Lucario (Scias, male, Lv80, Naïve, Inner Focus, Expert Belt, Dragon Pulse/Aura Sphere/Meteor Mash/Bone Rush, Fighting Tera Type)
Notes: Scias was my main Titan killer and carried the team quite a bit. He also evolved very quickly, giving me a powerhouse before even facing the second Gym. Also I want him to be a mixed attacker so he can shift gears when needed. I do feel that Bone Rush should be replaced, as it's a meh move (plus it's accuracy isn't great) but I don't know what to go with. And I'm wondering if I should change his Tera Type, too. Any suggestions are welcome.
Sawsbuck (Spar, male, Lv80, Adamant, Sap Sipper, Muscle Band, Bullet Seed/Horn Leech/Zen Headbutt/Smart Strike, Grass Tera Type)
Notes: Spar turned out to be a surprisingly welcome addition to the team, giving me some newfound respect for Sawsbuck. Like Ryu and Nina he went through a Nature upgrade, going from Careful to Adamant. Zen Headbutt is good coverage against Poison and Fighting, while Smart Strike gives me another anti-Fairy attack. I feel I should either replace Bullet Seed with something else or give him a Loaded Dice to ensure it doesn't shortchange me when I don't need it, but I wanted to boost his other moves, too. I'm not sure so I'm open to suggestions. His Tera Type, however, I'm fine with, as it not only boosts his Grass moves but removes the Fighting weakness that his Normal type adds on. Plus it gives me a Water, Rock, and Ground counter.

This is one I've had some ideas on from personal experience. Expert Belt has worked out pretty well on my Bronzong's moveset (Gyro Ball/Zen Headbutt/Ice Spinner/Earthquake) so my suggestion would be to keep that item on Scias. If the holder has a wide spread of supereffective targets then you'll get plenty of mileage out from that 20% extra damage. In Scias's case, having Fighting instead of Psychic is even better for the item.
I agree with replacing Bone Rush since I haven't suggested Loaded Dice here. Ground pairs well with Steel and so my thought is easily Earthquake, which has the power of a four-hit Bone Rush which Loaded Dice would have guaranteed and also has that better accuracy. Don't worry about TM compatibility, you'd be surprised at what can learn Earthquake.
That TM costs 12,000 LP, 5 Phanpy Nails, 3 Diglett Dirts, and 3 Barboach Slimes.
Dragon type moves are generally not good for Expert Belt setups because they only hit Dragon supereffectively. My suggestion for something different is Ice Punch because it keeps that existing Dragon matchup and adds three more supereffective matchups that make it, like Steel, a good pair with Ground, in addition to also being good alongside Fighting.
That TM costs 5,000 LP, 3 Cubchoo Furs, and 3 Meditite Sweats.
If you're wanting to keep that equal split between physical and special moves, I can then suggest subbing out Meteor Mash for Flash Cannon to keep balance. It's got more accuracy and I think that the possible Special Defense drop on the target might be better for Tera Raids since all your allies can use that, rather than the possible Attack rise from Meteor Mash which only helps Scias.
That TM costs 8,000 LP, 3 Varoom Fumes, 3 Klefki Keys, and 3 Tinkatink Hairs.
Scias's Tera type is a different matter. My Bronzong uses Tera Steel because it's a slow creature that wants to keep its many resistances no matter what (and having Levitate helps), but your Lucario wouldn't have this problem. Steel, as I said, keeps the resistances and doesn't add anything new from losing the Fighting type if you'd like some longevity, but your Steel type Pokémon is definitely faster than mine and not as bulky, and so may better appreciate the boost to his moves of the offensively stronger Fighting, Ground, or Ice types. So, possibly keep as Fighting, but Ground and Ice are perhaps worth some thought if they can improve your Tera type spread.
This isn't a suggestion, just an observation, but I like how we had such different approaches to the sets and Tera types of our Normal/Grass pairs. I have my Arboliva (Giga Drain/Hyper Voice/Earth Power/Rest, Lum Berry, Harvest) on Tera Normal because it removes the five weaknesses of her Grass typing while keeping her immunity, plus she's Bold minted and Defense invested so that remaining weakness to the physically oriented Fighting type hasn't been too bothersome. A potentially infinite usage of Rest has been hugely helpful for me too.
Anyway, thanks for sharing and I hope you can figure things out.

New playthrough, new questions.
I was recently cleaning out some of the leftover eggs in one of my files and decided to use some of them in a playthrough. However, there are certain ones where I'm not sure which would be better. My starter is Fuecoco, and two of the determined slots are H-Zorua (since I've never actually used one yet) and Dunsparce, but I'm not sure on which Water and Flying Mon to use. In terms of Water I'm debating between an P-Tauros Aqua or a HA Veluza. While in the Flying department I'm torn between Staraptor and Honchkrow. Anyone want to offer a suggestion to which of these Mons should be on my team? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've ultimately gone with P-Tauros Aqua and Murkrow. P-Tauros Aqua has a better basestat total, and while Fighting/Water is rather fragile, it can deal with the Dark types that would wall Skeledirge and H-Zoroark. Plus Intimidate is one of the best abilities in the game and great for cushioning blows. As for Murkrow/Honchkrow, he'll deal with the Ghost and Fighting types that would bother half my team. Also, on a side note, I've since added a Steel Tera Smoliv to the ranks. While it increases the Fighting weaknesses, well, that's what Honchkrow will take care of. Thanks anyway.

Forgive the double post (but it has been a while since the last time) but I'm looking for a bit more advice on my Breath of Fire-themed team in Scarlet. Specifically, I want to see if I can improve Spar the Sawsbuck and Deis the Dudunsparce, especially for the upcoming DLC. Here are their layouts.
Deis (Dudunsparce, female)

Notes: Deis is largely the defensive member of the team. Body Slam + Serene Grace is great for paralysis cheese (and her primary STAB). Rocky Helmet is used for extra chip damage to punish physical hits. But I'm open to suggestions for her.

Notes: Thanks to this playthrough I've gained a lot of respect for Sawsbuck. Spar is largely in charge of Ground, Rock, Water, and Fairy types (especially Rock, as half my team is weak to it unless Terastalized). Sap Sipper is useful for turning the tables on Grass attacks and turning them into free Attack boosts (plus I don't bother much with weather-based abilities/teams/strategies). Loaded Dice makes Bullet Seed a 100-125 BP move, thus is Spar's strongest attack, plus it's good for chunking the enemy and breaking shields, though sometimes I swap in Clear Amulet to block stat-dropping moves (especially in Tera Raids). Horn Leech is for recovery and good for high damage. Smart Strike deals with Fairies (plus has perfect accuracy) while also chunking Rock and Ice Mons. Zen Headbutt is technically here for Fighting and Poison Mons but I rarely use it (plus Noivern and Talonflame largely handle Fighting Mons while Skeledirge and Dudunsparce handle Poison). Spar in particular I want some advice on fine-tuning him. Like maybe offering a different Tera Type or tweaking his moves to better deal with stronger enemies/Tera Raids. I would like some critique for my team in Scarlet. I'm currently going to face Tulip as my 7th Gym and I've also completed the DLC (at least up to the end of the story, I haven't caught the Loyal Three yet because I wanted access to both Ultra and Quick Balls since I started it just before battling Larry), so my team is going to be very overleveled at this point. Here's my squad.

Notes: I'm tempted to replace Iron Defense with Bulk Up, since it would boost her Attack and Defense, thus making all her moves hit harder. I also opted out of Brave Bird since 1) I don't like recoil moves, and 2) I have no way to offset the damage (outside of something like Shell Bell), and I only used a recoil move if I have the means to offsetting the damage (ie: recovery move, draining move, etc), so she gets Drill Peck. And I opted for Iron Head over Steel Wing since it hits harder and has perfect accuracy (as I can't count how many times that damn 5% chance to miss has screwed me over). Suggestions are welcome.

I looked at a team builder. It has at least one resistance to every type, but has 3 weaknesses to Electric.

Yes, I realized that late into the team building when I first started this playthrough. Hence the addition of Sawsbuck, who not only resists Electric, but can learn various Ground moves to counter it, even if she was a last-minute decision. Originally her Ground move was Stomping Tantrum (since it was the best Ground move she could get) but then the DLC added in High Horsepower, which Sawsbuck now learns, so I swapped it out for High Horsepower. And as I said before the power difference is very noticeable. Plus Skeledirge also learns Ground moves (which he does have in the form of Earth Power) so that gives me two methods of dealing with Elec Mons, depending on the situation.
But do you have any suggestions? Like, say, moves, Tera Types, held items, etc?

Not sure about that. I don't do competitive. I don't generally care about held items. For moves, if a stronger move becomes available, I will use it. Why use Ember over Flamethrower? I don't get why people would give a Pokemon low power moves like Pin Missile. The same with abilities (with exceptions).

First time I've ever quoted my own post before. But I felt it was time for an update.
First off, my current position in the story is I've beaten all three plotlines and The Way Home (and as I said before, the Teal Mask plotline), so now I'm doing the Gym Inspections or whatever. I did Katy, Brassius, and Iono, along with having done two STC battles: Mela and Gaicomo.
Next, I've since axed the Amulet Coin from Skeledirge and now he uses the Throat Spray exclusively. This is because I was getting sick of switching the items before and after Tera Raids and my current Poke Dollar amount is over 2 million so it's not necessary anymore (would've been over 3 million but I spend it on restoring the "Loyal" Three shrine so I could get some new threads). Plus all the vendor trash you get from Tera Raids more than makes up for it. I've also swapped out Iron Defense on Corviknight for Bulk Up like I was debating on. This allows her to still strengthen her Body Press attack while also boosting her other moves (and offsetting any Intimidate attempts). Moving on, I've since given Sawsbuck a Big Root so she can gain more HP from Horn Leech to further offset recoil damage from Wild Charge. Also, the team's levels have gone up by quite a bit: Skeledirge is now Lv98 (largely thanks to the whole Amulet Coin thing), H-Samurott is Lv89, Sawsbuck is Lv89, Corviknight is Lv88, H-Braviary is Lv85, and Sneasler is Lv87.
I'm still looking for suggestions on Tera Types, as thanks to completing the Kitakami Pokedex and getting the Glimmer Charm (or whatever it's called) I can now farm for Tera Shards a bit more easily. Some ideas I've had are Tera Ground for Sawsbuck, Tera Fighting for H-Samurott, and either Tera Fairy or Tera Ghost for H-Braviary. But I'm open to suggestions.
And I've noticed a problem: I only have one answer to Flying Mons, and that's in the form of Sawsbuck's Wild Charge (which is a risky move to begin with, much less on a Grass Mon, who is weak to Flying). Especially in Tera Raids, where the HP of the Tera Mons could very easily cause enough recoil to KO Sawsbuck in return. That can also apply to Water Mons, too, since, again, Sawsbuck fills that role (albeit I have 2 moves to use in that regard), though it's a bit less problematic. So I could use a few suggestions on moves to fill in those gaps would be helpful. And any other general move ideas are welcome.
