The In-Game Team Advice Thread

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Good moveset for Gardevoir?

Calm Mind
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Shadow Ball

Is it OK?

That actually looks really good. If you want, you could add Wish in there somewhere to help you heal as you spam Calm Mind, but overall, the set looks good.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

THis is my planned team for Platinum (in-game)

Infernape
Naughty
Close Combat
Flare Blitz
Grass Knot
Mach Punch

Gastrodon
Rash
Sticky Hold
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Surf
Recover

Gengar
Timid
Shadow Ball
TunderBolt
Focus Blast
Explosion

Garchomp
Adamant
Earthquake
Dragon Claw/Dragon Rush
Fire Fang
Crunch

Leafeon
Hasty
Swords Dance
Leaf Blade
Return
X-Scissor

Lucario
Jolly
Swords Dance
Close Combat
ExtremeSpeed
Ice Punch

What do youse think?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Here is my currently very-offending-move-set in-game team:

Gengar Lv. 59
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Destiny Bond
Dark Pulse

Rapidash Lv. 63
Flare Blitz
Fire Blast
Flame Wheel
Take Down

Floatzel Lv. 64
Crunch
Aqua Jet
Surf
Razor Wind

Torterra Lv. 60
Leaf Storm
Earthquake
Giga Drain
Razor Leaf

Staraptor Lv. 60
Brave Bird
Fly
Close Combat
Wing Attack

The move sets imply absolutely no strategy, it's just all about brute strength. I could bring the team online, but I bet I'd get owned fast, so I was thinking of creating an entirely new team for online play. Smart move?

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

i'd suggest so, in order to EV and possible IV improve.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Well Random Chaos, your team looks very nice. Can't see any glaring weaknesses. I'd go Dragon Pulse on Charizard if you've already used the TM (and it doesn't learn it otherwise obviously). I can see your Scizor doesn't run Techician, but Bullet Punch is still an option if you have access to that.

Anyways, I've been working on my new in-game team in Platinum. The movesets are expected, I haven't done too much grinding as of yet, although I will soon be done.

424.png

Level 61
Lonely, Pickup
- Strength
- T-Punch
- Ice Punch
- Brick break

Yeah, pickup. Works nicely when you're in level 91+ (not yet though). No need for Technician anyways. No item for pickup to work, this guy works as a cleaner and revenger, takes out weakened things n' stuff such as Gyarados and Salamence (usually just after the Intimidate). Fun guy. Pseudo-boltbeam.

478.png

@Lucky Egg/Lefties
Level 33
Modest, Snow Cloak
- Ice Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- HP Grass/Ice Shard

Mostly special attacker, with boltbeam and stuff. Dunno abut the last slot though.

237.png

@Fist Plate
Adamant, Technician
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat
- Pursuit
- Fake Out

Needed something that provided me with fighting STAB. Pretty obvious really.

232.png

@Lefties
Adamant, Sturdy
- Earthquake
- Assurance
- Seed Bomb
- Superpower

Bulky and delivers hard blows. Don't know about the moveset though, any advice (that doesn't require the use of one-off/hard to get TMs)?

121.png

@Lucky Egg
Modest, Natural Cure
- Surf
- Ice Beam/Psychic
- Thunderbolt/Psychic
- Recover

Do I need Psychic STAB on this team? Or should I run Boltbeam on this one too (boltbeam on three pokémon)?

Spr_4p_479L.png

@Lefties
Bold/Modest
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Thunder Wave
- Leaf Storm

I'm only thinking about the nature. I'll check what has the best IVs I think.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

I'm in a bit of trouble against the elite 4. Is there any changes that could be made to my team or do i just have to do some level grinding? :boom:

I'm playing platinum.

Empoleon (PINGU)
Level 50
Torrent

Holding Mystic Water

Cut
Surf
Brine
Waterfall

Semi HM-Slave xD

Haunter (EIGHTBALL)
Level 50
Levitate

Holding Spell Tag

Hypnosis
Dream Eater
Destiny Bond
Shadow ball (<3)

Wish I could evolve it but none of my friends play this game..

Rapidash (PALAGG)
Level 50
Run Away

Holding nothing (Suggestions of something good I can get it to hold? Offcourse accesible before beating the elite 4)

Fire Blast
Bounce
Stomp
Flamethrower

Well, I like it :)

Luxray (FIERCE)
Level 51
Rivalry

Holding Magnet

Hyper Beam
Crunch
Thunder
Thunderbolt

I just love battling with this one :)

Leafeon (TRIANGLE)
LEVEL 50
Leaf Guard

Holding Miracle Seed

SolarBeam
Magical Leaf
Rock Smash
Last Resort

Thinking of replacing SolarBeam with something else, magical leaf twice does the same damage and has more PP, but what should i have instead? Synthesis maybe?

Now for the hardest part... I have two pokemon that kind of qualifies for this place. As i hate level grinding my Steelix lies best to hand at the moment..

Steelix (KARL XII)
Level 50
Rock Head

Holding Metal Coat

Iron Tail
Rock Climb
Strength
Earthquake

With rock head I should probably learn it something like takedown. I dont like Rock climb or strength at all but they're really useful for cave exploring and such.. Should i replace Strength with takedown? (or any other good suggestion)
Edit: Fail, Steelix doesnt learn takedown, I was thinking about Double edge :)

...my other option would be to train my Gabite into a Garchomp and learn it some decent moves...

Gabite (STARFIGHTER)
Level 44
Sand Veil

Holding nothing

Sand Tomb
Slash
Dragon Claw
Dig

As you might guess, I just caught it :D Its max EXP is 1,250,000 aswell, making it even more annoying to level up!

I really hate level grinding as I said so I'd probably go with Steelix... But what do you guys think? Is this team good at all? :D

Edit: just realized, cynthia have all her pokemon around level 60, so i need to train a lot! :saiyan:
