Not liking waterpuls, maybe switch with Hydro Pump?
Luxray lvl 72
Thunderbolt, Discharge, Thunder, Crunch
Looks fine
Haunter lvl 70

Interesting, good movepool, I persona;;y don't use him much
Leafon lvl 71
Leaf Blade, Energy Ball, Solarbeam, X-scissor

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

hope some of this helps

personnally i dont like hydro pump that much just because of the fact that its somewhat unreliable in terms of accuracy plus both surf and water fall are pretty strong moves anyway i just wanted a more.........simpler move that wont instantly K.O. my oppenent if i want to catch it

and i dont like blast burn bc all it is a an elemental hyper beam....i was however considering overheat or MAYBE fire blast (even though it has the same issue as hydro pump)

where can i find a heart scale btw and THANKS ALOT

Even for an in-game team, the moves are extremely linear. Your Infernape is good, just get rid of flamethrower/flare blitz depending on which attack stat is lower and add something like grass knot to take care of waters.

Floatzel could use a move like Crunch, definately doesn't need 3 water moves. Keeping an HM or 2 on him is good, but get rid of water pulse for sure.

Luxray again doesn't need 3 electric moves, especially when he doesn't have an HM as one of those 3.

Having a physical, non-explosion move on a Haunter is a bad move, and Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball are almost identical moves. You could really work around with that; give him thunderbolt or giga drain or something.

Leafeon again, doesn't need 3 grass moves. Maybe give him Synthesis to heal or something like return? I've never really used a Leafeon so I don't really know.

Staraptor can make use of moves like return in place of aerial ace. I can see you keeping fly for flying purposes, so thats ok.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

This Platinum team was made to sort of sweep the E4, which I just did. Btw I don't know their EVs so I won't post them.

Honchkrow lvl 50
Nature: Rash
Ability: Super Luck
Moves:
-Aerial Ace
-Night Slash
-Heat Wave
-Sucker Punch

Infernape@Life Orb lvl 60
Nature: Bashful
Moves:
-Close Combat
-U-Turn
-Flare Blitz
-Overheat

Breloom@Toxic Orb lvl 49
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Poison Heal
Moves:
-Swords Dance
-Substitute
-Focus Punch
-Seed Bomb

Dragonite lvl 55
Nature: Careful
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves:
-Dragon Dance
-Aqua Tail
-Outrage
-EQ

Garchomp lvl 49
Nature: Serious
Ability: Sand Veil
Moves:
-EQ
-Dragon Claw
-Swords Dance
-Crunch

Cresselia@Lefties lvl 50
Nature: Bashful
Moves:
-Toxic

Their natures look whack but it's not a competitive battling team at all. It did it's job and swept E4. Although Breloom died the most out of all, I never had a chance to bring him in safely ;_;

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Here's my planned Heart Gold team for when I get it. The TMNT theme just came to me after picking Feraligatr's name

Thoughts and comments would be nice.

Leonardo (Feraligatr)

Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Ice Punch
Earthquake

Donatello (Typhlosion)

Sunny Day
Solar Beam
Fire Blast
Earthquake / Will-O-Wisp

Shredder (Scizor)

Roost / X-Scissor
Swords Dance
Bullet Punch
Brick Break

Raphael (Kingdra)

Rain Dance
Waterfall
Surf
Outrage

CaseyJones (Jolteon)

Agility
Baton Pass
Charge Beam
Shadow Ball

Splinter (Staraptor) - I know he ruins the Kanto / Johto theme, but I need a flyer and well... I'm connected to the little guy. He's Master Splinter because his father is a veteran of my Diamond and Platinum teams and is now level 100.

Fly
Close Combat
Return
Brave Bird / U-Turn

and of course I'll have a Bibarel or two hanging around as a HM slave.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Your team sounds well-designed. I'd personally just run a special-Kingdra with Dragon Pulse, Rain Dance, Surf and probably Ice Beam, but that's personal preference I guess. The same goes for Dragon Dance on Feraligatr, I'm gonna run Swords Dance on mine, but you have Scizor for that.

My current Diamond-team:

I'm currently around Crasher Wake, and doing a bit of grinding.
Torterra, level 32
Quirky, Overgrow
Curse
Wood Hammer
Earthquake
Leech Seed

I'll probably switch Leech Seed for Crunch when I get that. Perhaps Leaf Storm instead of Woodhammer due to the recoil, I'll see if I find it distasteful.

Gyarados, level 29
Adamant, Intimidate
Bite (Ice Fang probably)
Strength
Dragon Rage (Dragon Dance)
Leer (Aqua Tail and then Waterfall)

Dragon Rage might be broken early on, but I actully prefer OHKOing it with Strength rather than 2HKOing with Dragon Rage. Caught as a level 7 Magikarp, was a Gyarados before I left Eterna Forest Lucky with the nature. Waterfall + Strength = Very nice coverage, maybe I'll drop it for Return though, as Strength got some other uses as well.

Murkrow, level 31
Quirky, Insomnia
Wing Attack
Fly
Pursuit (Night Slash)
Night Shade (Don't really know what to put here, perhaps Shadow Ball or Dark Pulse or something)

Takes some time to get a Honckrow, but it'll be worth it I think. Probably a mixed attacker.

Haunter (after E4 Gengar, as I haven't got access to Wi-Fi to abuse the GTS...)
Level 30, Hasty, Levitate
Shadow Punch (Shadow Ball)
Night Shade
Mean Look (Sludge Bomb as Gengar at least)
Payback (Thunderbolt)

Special attacker. Gengar after E4 in the chateau.

Octillery
Lax, Sniper
Bubblebeam (Surf)
Octazooka (Fire Blast/Flamethrower)
Aurora Beam (Ice Beam)
Psybeam (Psychic? Waterfall?)

Another mostly special-attacker.

Then, just to break the entire game when I get it (this is planned)

Dialga
??? nature
Draco Meteor
Flash Canon
Earth Power
Fire Blast

I dislike using legendaries on my team, yet they somehow just end up in my box, and that's kinda a waste. Might as well just use it I guess, I'm not going to trade it anyways. It'll probably look something like this. If only DP had some decent, interesting pokémon to use pre-E4 that I hadn't used already.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Can someone suggest pokemon I can use for a walkthrough of FireRed I'm planning? I want to use things that, generally, not many people use.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Clefable? One of my favorites definitely. Dodrio maybe, for flyer and generally Flying-poké? Venomoth, Tentacruel, Omastar, Cloyster, Vileplume (don't know how many uses this though), Dewgong, Wigglytuff, Parasect, Farfetch'd (lol), Kingler, Lickitung, Seaking, Mr. Mime, Muk? Did that help at all?

As for m.tie123's team, I think your Torterra has too many Grass-moves. Perhaps Crunch is better, along with Wood Hammer. Staraptor needs Close Combat definitely, drop Aerial Ace, and ax Quick Attack for Return. And Heracross doesn't even learn Bug Buzz, so that's a hack, but it's not a good move either on him. Floatzel needs Crunch, and drop Onix for a Steelix, I do believe it can be caught at Iron Island. That's my thoughts anyway

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Clefable's awesome. I used it in all of my FireRed walkthroughs. I highly recommend it.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Yeah, I like Clefable, too.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Ah, I tried using Clefairy and Clefable in my last playthrough...I even managed to catch two with really good natures (Bold and Adamant), but...they didn't really work for me. :-/ This is the team I'm thinking of so far:
Venusaur (I always have to have my starter on my team)
Dodrio (never raised one before, so this should be interesting)
Magneton (again, never raised one before, and I'd like to go through a first-gen game with an electric other than Pikachu/Raichu)
Dragonair/nite (all-around favorite, and available fairly early if I'm willing to spend the money)
Dugtrio (I've raised a Sandslash, but not a Dugtrio. Plus, this allows me to get a new pokemon earlier so my starter isn't QUITE so overleveled).
???

I can't decide whether or not to use the Lapras that's given to you in Silph Co. or not. I'd love to use a Dewgong, but I need something that can surf to get one in the first place, and I get it awfully late.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Well, I don't like Dugtrio in FireRed anymore, it takes way too long time to get Earthquake through level, and it's frailer than a piece of paper. Diglett rapes Lt. Surge though. I'm also a huge fan of Nite, and that's a good investment really, although it does take quite some time to get it. In my last FireRed-team, I had it when I got to Cinnabar, leaving the rest of my team under-leveled, except perhaps for my Fearow.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Well apparently I put this in the wrong place before (the internet is SERIOUS BUSINESS, after all...) so I will repost it here, as long as nobody minds.

Anyway, for fun, I'm gonna make a team based on Magnum PI,and I could use some suggestions for pokemon.

If you're familiar with the show, what pokemon would you use for:

Magnum: he was a navy seal, so maybe a water type? but he's a detective too, hmmm...
Rick: not sure, comic relief, lecherous, short...
TC: flew the helicopter, so flying type
Higgins: Since he was the smart stuck up british one, I'm thinking maybe an alakazam, open to suggestions. He liked dogs, so maybe one of the dog-like pokemon?
(possibly)Robin Masters: he's mysterious and never seen, so maybe a ghost type. He was played by fat Orson Welles in one episode, so maybe a snorlax or other fat pokemon...

Also, which other magnum character(s) should I use to fill up the team, and what pokemon should they be? Choices are Lt. Tanaka, Agatha Chumley, Icepick, Buck Greene, Carol Baldwin, Luther Gillis, Michelle Hue, Maggie Poole, or Keoki.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

My Pearl team (I'm up to right before the 2-on-2 battle with Mars and Jupiter):

1. Empoleon "Mumble", Lv48, male
-Aerial Ace
-Brine
-Bubblebeam
-Rock Climb
2. Roserade "Rosalia", Lv48, female
-Cut
-Giga Drain
-Magical Leaf
-Poison Jab
3. Drifblim "Fantina", Lv49, female
-Fly
-Ominous Wind
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
4. Quagsire "Woot", Lv48, male
-Earthquake
-Mud Shot
-Surf
-Yawn
5. Luxray "Nala", Lv49, female
-Crunch
-Strength
-Thunder Fang
-Thunderbolt
6. Sneasel "Snowy", Lv49, female
-Faint Attack
-Ice Beam
-Ice Shard
-Slash

I'm not planning on any changes except for my Sneasel hopefully evolving into Weavile. The movesets, however, will probably change in the future.

m.tie123's team:

Very good! A bit overleveled, but that's okay. My suggestions:

Torterra: Good moveset!
Staraptor: Good moves as well.
Heracross: Good moves, too.
Floatzel: You might want to ditch Iron Tail for Crunch. Three of your Pokemon know Iron Tail. But I like Floatzel very much!
Magmar: Maybe a more powerful move should replace Quick Attack.
Onix: Needs more powerful moves, like Stone Edge or Double-Edge (provided your Onix has Rock Head and not Sturdy ability). It also might be better to evolve it into a Steelix (if you know someone with the game, trade it and then have them return it. That way you won't have to catch a Steelix at Iron Island).

Even so, your team is excellent!
