The In-Game Team Advice Thread

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Here is my team. But I really, they are not just for in-game, I use them for competive battles too. I tweaked them a little since I last posted them.

Blaziken (male)
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Blaze
Item: Choice Band
EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED
Moves:
Flare Blitz
Stone Edge
Superpower
Thunderpunch
Stats:
HP: 301
Atk: 339
Def: 176
Sp.Atk:230
Sp.Def: 176
Speed: 284

Gardevoir (female)
Nature: Timid
Ability: Synchronize
Item: Lum Berry
EVs: 188 SP.ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED
Moves:
Psychic
Calm Mind
Focus Blast
Thunderbolt
Stats:
HP: 277
Atk: 149
Def: 182
Sp.Atk: 333
Sp.Def: 266
Speed: 284

Salamence (male)
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Intimidate
Item: Yache Berry
EVs: 255 ATK / 255 SPEED
Moves:
Outrage
Fire Blast
Earthquake
Dragon Dance
Stats:
HP: 331
Atk: 369
Def: 196
Sp.Atk: 230
Sp.Def: 196
Speed: 328

Roserade (female)
Nature: Timid
Ability: Natural Cure
Item: Black Sludge
EVs: 188 SP.ATK / 67 DEF / 255 SPEED
Moves:
Energy Ball
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
Sleep Powder
Stats:
HP: 261
Atk: 158
Def: 162
Sp.Atk: 333
Sp.Def: 246
Speed: 306

Milotic (female)
Nature: Modest
Ability: Marvel Scale
Item: Salac Berry
EVs: 255 SP.ATK / 255 SPEED
Moves:
Ice Beam
Recover
Hydro Pump
Mirror Coat
Stats:
HP: 331
Atk: 140
Def: 194
Sp.Atk: 328
Sp.Def: 286
Speed: 261

Metagross (genderless)
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Clear Body
Item: Life Orb
EVs: 204 ATK / 152 SP.DEF / 154 SPEED
Moves:
Meteor Mash
Agility
Explosion
Earthquake
Stats:
HP: 301
Atk: 392
Def: 296
Sp.Atk: 203
Sp.Def: 254
Speed: 214

I decided to ditch my whole "style" of not teaching two or more different pokemon on my team the same kind of move. I find that Salamence with eathquake is really good. Also, my Metagross now knows explosion.

And I took another site'a advice and gave Blaziken a choice band and taught him Flare Blitz and Superpower. I wasn't sure at first, but then I tested him out in the Battle Tower. He got me to the second battle with the frontier Brain. So I have to say, I like the results.

Anyway, please rate, but don't tell me to replace pokemon, cause that is not going to happen.

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Here's a hypothetical Machamp:

Machamp @ Flame Orb
Guts
-Facade
-Cross Chop
-Ice Punch
-Thunderpunch

Once Flame Orb triggers Guts, Cross Chop goes from 150 (/w/ STAB) to 225 (/w/ STAB and 1.5 guts increase), Facade goes up to 140 as usual, and Ice/Thunder punch go up to 102, IIRC. Overall Machamp gets really powerful.

?

Ampharos

I'm not exactly sure if these are the best pokemon for the Elite Four, so much help is wanted and accepted. Thanks!

Re: TAKE NOTE: All in-game teams go here.

Here's my team:
picture.php

King the Empoleon:
Modest/Focus Sash/Torrent
EVs/Def134/SpAtk252/SpDef124
Surf, Grass knot, Aqua jet, Ice beam

My wall/special attacker. It can survive most non-STAB thunderbolt without focus sash then hit back with torrent boosted surf. If that doesnt do the trick then torrented aqua jet can finish off most weakened targets.

picture.php

Tankor the Metagross:
Careful/Leftovers/ClearBody
EVs/Atk252/Def124/SpDef134
Meteor mash, Hammer arm, Earthquake, Bullet punch

The physical version of King. It can take a beating then dish one out.(When I get HG I may replace Bullet punch with gravity so he can take out levitated pokemon like bronzong/rotom)

picture.php

Draciaria the Salamence:
Adamant/Life orb/Intimidate
EVs/Atk255/Spd255
Fire fang, Stone edge, Aerial ace, Dragon claw

My physical sweeper. Packs a huge punch.

picture.php

Flora the Roserade
Timid/Focus sash/NaturalCure
EVs/SpAtk255/Spd255
Sleep powder, Toxic spikes, Sludge bomb, Energy ball

My lead. Its strategy is pretty straight forward, Sleep the target, set up toxic spikes then attack/switch out

picture.php

Maximus the Yanmega
Mild/Silver powder/SpeedBoost
EVs/Hp4/SpAtk253/Spd253
Air slash, Bug buzz, Protect, U-turn

My super speedy scout. It uses protect to gain a free speed boost then either
u-turn out or fight. A great counter against most psychic, grass or dark types. Its holding silver powder to boost the power of bug buzz and u-turn,its most often used moves. Also thanks to protect and speed boost if it stays in long enough it can out speed some very fast pokemon.

picture.php

Shaggy the Mamoswine
Lonely/Light clay/SnowCloak
EVs/Hp4/Atk253/Spd253
Ice shard, Earthquake, Reflect, Light screen

My pseudo-legend counter/dual screener. Can pretty much destroy every pseudo-legendary with a STAB Ice shard or STAB Earthquake. Greatly helps its team mates' survivability by setting the screens up.

Not bad but they're natures aren't great. You should really evolve kadabra(by trade) and focus bands are kinda unreliable.Swellow are already pretty fast so they probably don't need quick claw. Also, im pretty sure pokemon cant use dire hit,X accuracy or anything like that by themselves in battle (u have to use it on them) so make ur magneton hold something else like a magnet or something. Also replace wailord's dive with rain dance since it decreases fire damage, increases water damage and gives thunder 100% accuracy and make him hold a lum berry or a chesto berry to make him wake up from rest instantly.

Wobuffet are pretty good but gligar aren't so good(until d/p came along and gave him an awesome evolution).

Typhlosion can learn some stronger fire type moves like Erruption(lv53) or Overheat(tm) you could also teach him Hidden power(tm) and check what type it is and how strong or even Will-o-wisp(tm) since it halves the target's attack and burns. You could teach gengar Thunderbolt(tm) or Energy ball (by tm). Alakazam can also learn Energy ball (though you dont get the TM till after the elite 4) or better yet Reflect(tm) to make up for its poor defense. You may want to make the last move of ampharos light screen (tm or lv51) to boost your team's sp.def. And for hercross stone edge(tm) is always a strong choice and it makes up for his weakness to flying and fire.

These guys are pretty good they should be able to handle the elite 4 well.
